@LadyRhian I'm not very familiar with Tiax. Is it possible to play as someone else? Also can we get an up to date list of NPCs that are currently being played? Or have died.
A lot of NPCs have been played already. We are currently lacking Quayle, Coran, Dynaheir, Eldoth, Faldorn, Jaheira, Branwen, Kagain, Khalid, Kivan, Safana, Shar-Teel, Viconia, Xan, Xzar, Yeslick, Anomen, Cernd, Haer'Dalis, Imoen, Jan, Keldorn, Korgan, Nalia, Valygar and Yoshimo.
Branwen was with the party and got sucked away. Valygar was abandoned by his player. Keldorn was determined to save a village girl named Gertruda that got "rescued" by Strahd. Despite searching, the party hasn't found her yet. Alora is another one who was in the party and died after pulling the wrong rope.
Mazzy looks oddly at Imoen. "I do not understand the purpose of such a jest." She scratches her chin. "Perhaps it was to raise spirits? At any rate, we need move on. The girls peril grows greater with every passing moment, and we have no time to waste on such trivial matters as these." Mazzy waves toward the fireplace.
OOC: I don't remember the layout, did this room have another door? Or must we head back? If no door, Mazzy will attempt to lead the group back to the previous room and head through a door there.
OK, I have allotted my thief skills (base[human] + bonus[18 dex] + amount from 270 (what Tiax had to use) and I think I will disdain armor as well, so I'll add bonuses for no armor to my totals.
Sarevok explores the newly opened room breathing in deeply the smoke within... Sarevok examines the walls, floor and ceiling looking for anything out of place before gathering coins like a "mad man"...
Minsc goes about the room searching for useful adventuring gear or weapons. After that he chooses to give back the rings to their rightful owners and will be ready to follow the Halfling's lead.
There are actually a pair of double doors at the back of the room, to the east. Those are the only doors you see. The double doors are of Bronze. The coinage surrounds a massive, closed chest with the finest fittings and workmanship. Attached to the wall are two sconces. The southernmost one holds a torch, and the other is empty. A Skeleton of a male human lies against the wall in broken plate armor, His right hand is wrapped around his neck, while his left hand holds a torch, presumably from the empty sconce.
Is Sarevok taking time to count the coins, or is he just scooping them up?
- Sarevok is scooping them up but not pocketing them.. Instead he holds out his hands to the party leader (like a proud puppy with a stick) only less enthused...
You can't tell- he's a skeleton. The breaks in his armor might be to blame, or the way he clutches his throat. There's no blood or blood stains left to tell you of any wounds that might have existed beneath the armor.
The chest opens with a groan and puff of air. Minsc sways on his feet as a wave of weariness overcomes him. The next moment, he's out like a light and tumbles to the ground with a clash of armor, snoring like a sawmill sawing logs... loudly.
Aerie has remained outside the chamber in the fireplace. Walking through fire seems a bad idea, and she has no protection from fire spells memorized. Since Tiax is apparently now Imoen, she will take extra care not to die, as per Garrick's request. She looks worried when Minsc collapses snoring and begins looking around the room expecting an ambush at any moment.
@lockmund Emptiness. You also note that the money around the chest is mostly copper, with a little silver and gold thrown in. It's like the largest collection of pennies, so to speak.
Mazzy frowns as the others look through the treasure. She holds her hands up as Saervok offers the treasure.
"This is the fiends ill gotten gain, all of it tainted by his evil. I would touch none of it, much less take it."
She nods as Garrick tells of the empty chest.
"A trap set for thieves, let it be a lesson to us. Let us turn our attention from these blood treasures to the doors, that we might trap this vampire ourselves."

Edwin attempts to gaze through the fire.
"Accursed training, I should never have dropped Divination (though soon I can conjure creatures of fire myself, yes, that will do nicely)."

As for my weapons I see I have sling of seeking +2 as well as a +2 short sword Tiax took from Shar-Teel.
Minsc seems a little confused at the order of events.

OOC first no save death incoming!!!

"Ouch, ouch, ouch! Well, that was a bit too hot for my liking. Anyway, the chest held..." (Garrick makes a dramatic pause waiting for @LadyRhian .)
