What cheats do you use, if any?

As a general rule, I try to play fair & square these days. About the only cheat I use with any regularity is editing my BG2 NPCs, where applicable, to match how they were at the end of the previous game. And, while I don't really consider it cheating, I do frequently use a mod to remove the helmets, simply because most of the helmets annoy me, especially the horned ones that make zero sense in real combat.

Indeed! 100 gold coins is no where near enough to even barely equip a young Fighter without breaking into locked containers (Lawful Good alignment be damned!) and taking things out of them. What did you do with all that gold you must have gotten as an adventurer? Spend it on bar nights with Elminster and his hat?

And you wonder why Imoen became a Thief? She clearly had the aptitude for magic, but with her shoddy allowance she had to resort to stealing some poor sod's Wand of Magic Missiles!

Heheheh! Gorion's definitely responsible for my kleptomania. It started so innocently in Candlekeep, but by the time I got to Athkatla I was chugging potions and cleaning out entire shops. I used to say it was the store's fault for making me want those fancy items so bad, but now I know it was Gorion.

And speaking of, I guess cheesy crime sprees could arguably be classified as cheats...

    Role-playing my good man, merely role-playing. ;)

    CTRL-J when backtracking.
At least 50% of max HP per level.
"Illegal" character builds (race and class combinations).
CTRL-8 (I think) in the character creation screen to give my characters 18 in all abilities and then just modify them as I see fit (I lower a bunch of scores until my total is at more reasonable levels and then just discard the unused points).

I know it's a single player game but I always end up feeling guilty using cheats. I will use an auto roller to save time for some reason getting a crazy high stat roll but I won't use keeper to change stats.

I do also set "max hit points on level up" and I would totally use keeper to fix a glitch or set an NPC to match how they were at the end of my last game. I have also decided that Minsc, Vicinia and Jaheira should start BG1 with their BG2 stats

Sometimes I use ctrl+j for aesthetical reasons, like pretending that the party thief jumped over something.

@DJKajuru That is a really neat idea, this way you can play a character who can fly as well :open_mouth:

I usually give myself at least 2 unique bags of holding - one for stuff to sell, one for stuff to keep 'just in case'... of course, 'just in case' rarely happens and I end up with 15 long swords +1 at the end of BG1 :S

Oh, and now SOD takes away all your cash, I purposely keep all gems valued 100 gold or more in BG1... so often make new gem bags for them if I run out of space. Then in SOD, I will sell all my gems, and replace my lost cash ;)

That's not cheating, that's saving one's own sanity.

What is sanity? Is it something you eat?

Sanity? Where we are going, we don't need sanity!

But you do need your cotton underwear. If you're allergic to synthetics, that is.

First time I did it was when I had to steal the necklace in the temple of Talos. Outside the temple there is a balcony and a gap (the district canal) that seems quite plausible for yoshimo to jump .
