That would be incredible! I tried to play those games a year or two ago but found it too clumsy not being able to use a mouse. I'm afraid my keyboard skills have atrophied over the years...
Back on topic: How bout some/all of goldbox series down in IE with 2e rules, joinable NPCs (or even IWD style would be ok), and more story elements?
That would be awesome but it will never happen. The cost of doing all the area artwork alone would be high enough that the game wouldn't be profitable.
Sorry to derail the thread again (on second thought, was this thread even ever ON the rail to begin with?) but coincidentally, episode I of the game I recommended, while waiting... waiting... waiting... and waiting... for the next beamdog release, is now free!

Before Halo, Bungee made a game called Myth II, and 10 years after the release, the online community still consisted of 30 000 active members (!). (Then Bungee just pulled the plug, because they... actually, I still havent figured out way. A community with that many active members is a great resource.) The reason it stayed alive for so long, was, of course, user created content. We don't really see a lot of companies take proper advantage of this work force, who are happy to spend countless hours toiling away at their game/love interest for nothing more than pats on the back and local fame.
Maybe Beamdog could coordinate a massive effort, utilizing these magical workers, for instance promising some minor reward to the "best area recreation" or whatnots in some grand contest*? Then all they need to provide the engine and some top-notch Garden of Eden Creation Kits for their engine, roll their thumbs for a couple of months, and finally glue it all together.
*Of course, signing away all creative rights, except a mentioning in the end game credits is part of the deal
Well, I know you guys are busy with a new project, but I'm always here for free offerings of new ideas!, heh. Seriously, I know that I.C.E.'s Rolemaster system is a lesser known system.....and while the most realistic system I have ever used- it is a slow/time consuming system for PnP as lotsa math is required for every action. Which would be alleviated in a CRPG doing instant rolls/math.....it may be a bit too unforgiving to a work in a CRPG. However, I wish a company would look into adopting it for a video game.
I think another EE would be the smart move. *remembers how Dragonspear went* Beamdog would attract some of those fans back with another EE because they couldn't resist.

Leisure Suit Larry: Enhanced Edition. You heard it here first.
So, as PST:EE is released and the next big project is still some while away, question is What's Next for Beamdog? We know that they are tackling the 32-bit to 64-bit issue on iOS and are still determined to get SoD to tablets (from tweets from Philip Daigle).
Also, there is a flurry of activity on redmine, where even IWD:EE sees some activities and bug reports being addressed. So it looks like we might start to see some patches appear in the near future.
