Reinstalled (uninstalled, deleted files and unpacked and reinstalled) and have same result of Circle Enforcer not getting the spheres called out on first page.

@Raduziel I think I see the issue. The install all option for DoF is not installing the sphere system.

    EDIT: Errors on sphere system.

Yeah, I just saw that on your Weidu log (it was really late yesterday and I was very tired, sorry).

I'm not at home ATM, as soon as I get there I'll take a look at it.

    Thanks.

Ok, the aforementioned issue should be solved.

@Zaghoul Sorry I've missed your post earlier. Thanks for the compliment :) I try my best to provide an enjoyable material.

Man, I just went up against my first BIG lot of deadies in SoD with the Pallid Mask, in Coldhearth's place, solo. Now lots of permanently deadies in there, hehheh. Repulse Undead combined with Disrupt Heretic really steamrolls through those guys, I even took out ol Coldhearth himself with it, twice. That was a real joy to see. Pow, right in the kisser, then ashes, no more Coldhearth :D I can't say enough how each of these new abilities I get leveling up works flawlessly.

1.Just to make sure as I will get round to it (too much fun at the moment with the Pallid Mask), which installs first, IHU or DoF? I think it is DoF so I can't at the moment without losing my PM on a reinstall, is that right?

    2. Last question, is DH affected by an undead's MR, or can they still be destroyed with it. I wondering how it will do on the more powerful liches.
  • RaduzielRaduziel Member Posts: 4,714
    1. DoF comes first. As DoF doesn't touches monks you're probably safe if you decide to install it, but I don't recommend installing DoF on a ongoing run. Save it for BG2 if you want to :)

    2. To be honest, I don't remember. I think it doesn't bypass MR, but I'm not 100% sure. I'll see it tomorrow and will let you know by tagging you here. Sorry about it, DoF takes a lot of my memory.

I must say that I'm really happy to see you enjoying this kit that much. Before this mod's revamp, the Pallid Mask and the Imprisoned Soul were by far the lamest kits. It is good to see that the effort I made to turn this mod into something better is showing results. Even the DH mechanics was terrible before 3.0

And if these kits are steamrolling undead, them they are doing what they should do. I think I'll build another IHU party to do another IWD run.

@Raduziel I installed this on BG2EE (used your recommended mod install order) and I noticed that the Imprisoned Soul cannot see most of the IWDification spells at character creation (EX: 2nd level spell Snowball Swarm). They are there at level up though.

By IWDification you mean spells added by IWDification or IWD spells added by DoF?

    Kit's 64 - 127 and 192 - 255 cannot select spells excluded to abjurers at CHARGEN.
    (0x4040 - 0x407f, 0x40C0 - 0x40ff)
Kit's 128 - 255 cannot select spells excluded to conjurers at CHARGEN.
    (0x4080 - 0x40ff)
    (This is a hardcoded bug.)

The IWDEE spells added by DoF retain their IWDEE-school exclusion:
Expiditious Retreat is excluded from abjurers.
Snilloc's Snowball Swarm is excluded from conjurers and enchanters.
Cat's Grace is excluded from abjurers.
Icelance and Lance of Disruption are excluded from conjurers and enchanters.
Edit - (I don't know which exclusion IWDification uses)

Would this match up with what your seeing?

    Spells added by IWDification.

I made an Imprisoned Soul so I don't know what exclusion he would have.

First level I was missing Identify that I noticed,
2nd level Snowball Swarm was not there.

Does sound like a specialist restriction since Identify is vanilla spell.

EDIT: Imoen cannot memorize the Vocalize spell (does not give the option) even though she does not have it in her book and she has plenty of room (not near book limit for INT).

EDIT 2: When I uninstall DoF, Imoen can memorize the Vocalize spell now.

Normally none - but the game enforces certain school restrictions only at CHARGEN depending on the kits id (how many other kits you have installed before it), which can't be overcome.

    @Necromanx2

Let me clarify a little what Oghma @kjeron told:

The "spell-not-appearing-in-chargen" bug is not an issue from or generated by DoF or IHU. It is a bug from the game itself, some kind of bad-luck-lottery. If a kit you install falls between the aforementioned intervals (67-124 or 192-255) it will not be able to pick spells restricted from an Abjurer (Alteration in BG(2)EE) or a Conjurer (Divination in BG(2)EE) during chargen. Spells from IWDEE have even more severe restrictions (as there a specialist loses two schools instead of one).

It is not an issue with the kit (it doesn't even have an exclusion flag - 0x00000000 19) or DoF. Unfortunately, there is nothing I can do here.

The only solution would be to remove the exclusion flags from the spells but

    a) you're using them from a mod I don't own

    b) even if it was my mod I wouldn't alter it as this would affect specialist mages too.

The easiest, quickest and cleanest solution is to pick the spells you want using EEKeeper.

    ---

About the Vocalize issue: the only altering DoF does on Vocalize is at its "Break Sanctuary" flag (from Yes to No), but I'll look into it. Other than that it just clones the spell to create a cleric version.

    PM-me with your Weidu.log, please.

    Thanks.

Thanks Raduziel! I appreciate all your great work!

I am reinstalling my mods (there were issues across several mods I was dealing with). As soon as I reinstall, I'll try again and see if Imoen is still an issue. If yes, I'll send my Weidu to you.

Turns out that BG2EE and IDWEE consider learning Vocalize to be a "weapon" ability, so it was getting erroneously flagged by the "not bypass mirror image/stoneskin" code.

@Raduziel I am looking at the Dreadful Witch (trying it in BGEE) and can't help but feel it is pretty handicapped. The curse is almost unusable at low levels as you will die pretty quickly and even at higher levels you need to use the earlier curses (or have good regeneration items). If she could move while cursing (I do that all the time ; - ) ), that would help. Between the hp loss with curses and the loose a spell cast per level, I am having a challenge getting into the class. This levels as a mage after all, so even the Cacofiend comes mid-SoA or so.

In short, it feels like there are more demerits then benefits to this kit (curses, only female, and must be NE). For me, I think this kit needs more love. Just my two cents.
  • ZaghoulZaghoul Member, Moderator Posts: 3,938
@Necromanx2 The Improved Shamanic Dance mod helps alot as it allows one to move while 'dancing'. I'm guessing it works with the witch as well.
  • Necromanx2Necromanx2 Member Posts: 1,246
@Zaghoul you may be right, but adding that mod would still leave me feeling that the Dreadful Witch has too many negatives. After all, all shamans would get the movement advantage and the DW's relative handicap would remain.

Just my opinion with some early playing around with the kit.
  • RaduzielRaduziel Member Posts: 4,714
The DW is a long term build.

    1) As soon as you get regeneration, the hardest drawback is removed.

    2) At level 7 you get an At Will Confusion - a spell that is from the 7th circle for divine casters! And with a penalty to saving throw (-1)

    3) At level 12 you have an area-effect -2 to saving throw at will Feeblemind

    4) At level 13 you have the same with Pain (that is basically Blindness + Slow with other issues)

    5) On top of that, since level 5 you may Animate Dead with a casting time of 3 - this gives you protection while you dance.

    ---

So I understand you're feeling that she is underpowered because you are on a low level yet (BGEE). The Dreadful Witch can be a beast but takes time - like happens with monks.

I appreciate your feedback, but I'll keep her as she is. I must, however, clarify at the Readme that Improved Shamanic Dance now must be installed after IHU.

    Thanks!

Raduziel, can you explain to me how the DW curses work (started a BG2EE game to get higher level and check out the kit)? I see each curse as a special ability to select. If I select one I take damage, but no dance initiates. How can I tell which curse I have active and how do I change the active curse?

    Sure :)

The dance per se happens through the Shamanic Dance button. Every time you use a special ability, you change the Curse you'll perform.

The default Curse is Misfortune. If you start a game and dance right-away, you'll be using this Curse.

By going to the special ability menu and clicking any other Curse, your Shamanic Dance button will now perform the selected Curse.

You may change Curses at will, but every time a new Curse is selected some damage is taken, so be wise.

    ---

    Example:

Laila is a Level 12 Dreadful Witch, therefore she has Misfortune, Rage, Terror, Madness and Emptiness available.

Some goblins attack her, so she calls a Skeleton to protect her.

During the fight, she notices that the skeleton is taking too much damage, so she uses the Misfortune dance to lower the goblins' luck and by consequence their damage output.

The skeleton finally falls, and Laila is in trouble. She changes her Curse to Terror (by clicking Terror at the special ability menu), takes some damage, and starts to dance (by clicking the Shamanic Dance button).

All the goblins fail their Saving Throw vs. Death (Laila imposes a -2 penalty for being at lv 12) and start fleeing. Laila knows that if she stops dancing right now this effect will last for 3 rounds - after that the goblins will be free unless she starts dancing again and they fail the saving again - so she has 18 seconds to perform any other action.

She decides to cast Sanctuary and then heal the damage the previous dances caused.

Would be nice if the active curse was highlighted in the special ability bar to make it easy to know what is active. Seems I just need to memorize the last thing I did at this point.

Unfortunately I have no idea how to do that - but I agree that it would be the ideal. The combat log will say what is happening to the enemies, so if you ever forget what curse you're using you'll not be in the dark for much time.

If I ever find a better solution I'll try to implement it.

@argent77 Kindly pointed out an issue with the Dreadful Witch's dances (they were not calling a spell that blocks spellcasting and stuff) and also provided a solution for the Improved Shamanic Dance to fit IHU's needs.

The DW's new files are already at Github.

IIRC correctly, ISDancing's new version was not released yet and I know for a fact that Argent is busy so there is no forecast for that.

    Enjoy!

Version 3.0 is up and it contains:

    * Complete overhaul of all the coding

    * Many kits altered

    * Removed (temporarily) the French translation, as installing 3.0 with it would cause a crash. As soon as I have the new translation I'll upload 3.1 with it.

Please, keep in mind that the translation is voluntary work and people has their own stuff to do. As soon as I get it I'll upload a new version - no harm. :)

    Cheers!
