The Manual says nowhere how and where to add Custom Portraits. The given sizes are failing too, even the sizes given here in the forum (the picture frames are larger then the given picture size).

The frames in the UI are larger than they're supposed to be. The sizes on the forum are correct.

Ok, then the frames are buggy. Please fix it. There is already a ton of new bugs...

Check this forum and see if it's already been reported (my guess is it has); if not, go ahead and make a new thread describing the issue.

It's not an error; it's an omission. It wasn't in the original manuals either, as far as I can recall (unless it was in a table that was removed). But duly noted.

It's in a table on page 142 of the original BG manual.

So it is implemented in the game but omitted from the manual?
  • Sese79Sese79 Member Posts: 478
No, they just used the older one, and not corrected it in the Manual.

Thanks, but it seems as an graphical error on the interface page, and I don't think they will correct it any soon, because they would have to remade the page. I think they have more concerning problems now, this BG:EE bug topic is growing with an alarming rate... The characters are not moving and attacking as told them (!), the characters are failing to rest in Inns (!), and there are the not existing but promised movies, that are worse than the originals, and all the bugs you can see here and in the old Fixed folder (many of the problems not solved, but flagged as fixed anyway) are bigger problems as this. Is anybody working on this problems already? Or just drinking their Martinis... :)

If you don't report it, I can guarantee you that it won't be fixed. They're working on fixing things as quickly as they can, but if they don't know about it, they can't fix it.

Yea I agree with Aosaw. I would have just clicked "agree", but I accidentally posted gibberish here (a > sign with nothing else) and so now I'm just filling space. So uhh...report it when you have the time. I myself will be reporting a few bugs once I finish compiling them.

    An older what?

The damage-based armor adjustments were indeed implemented; the table's just been removed.

(Telling the truth, I'd almost want these values to be listed on the armor items themselves...)

It was true for BG1 and BG2. Everything the Manual says about this chapter is copy-pasted from the original game. But now this is "enhanced" (=failed) now, so this sizes and directories mentioned are not working anymore.

It wasn't copy-pasted. It was typed out by hand. But it was typed when the new dimensions and file structures hadn't been finalized.

Regardless, I'm aware of the discrepancy, and I'm working on getting it fixed. There's no need to continue repeating it.

(In case it wasn't clear, the manuals were written by me.)

Oh, sorry then @Aosaw. It was just too much for me, this two days. I don't see at all why it is called "Enhanced Edition". It is far worse then the original one. Hopefully they will fix the bugs in days, so everyone can forget this failures. (You know too what I am speaking about. The Manual is just a little thing.)

Confusion - The phrase "adjusted for Wisdom" should be removed as the Magical Defense Adjustment for high Wisdom was never implemented. Maybe also change Saving throw to Neg.

Do we know this to be true? It was in the BG manual but not implemented in BG, I know.

And it is omitted from the BGEE manual. But is it implemented in BGEE?
  • DeeDee Member Posts: 10,447
It is not. The Confusion reference is a relic from the old description (as much as I'd like to see the wisdom bonus implemented personally).

Woh man. You can make coloured text? Mind blown!
  • catfishcatfish Member Posts: 31
dimensions mentioned in the forum are wrong.Custom portrait in the char creation asks you for a MEDIUM portrait 169*266 but if you choose the medium your ingame portrait will be zoomed in so much you cannot recognise anything.I have found out if you use SMALL portrait when it asks for medium then this small portrait will be fine. This is very confusing especially for new players.

@elminster - you can find instructions on how to format your posts at this link. Scroll down the page to find how to color your text.

when it should actually sit in the user's "My Documents\Baldur's Gate - Enhanced Edition" folder

I see that Mithril is used instead of Mithral on page 28 of the manual. What spelling is used in the game?

To answer myself: Mithral is used in the game so the manual should be changed for consistency.

@Evilcorp Is your post concerning portraits?

It would be really helpful if the priest spells could be classified as cleric, druid or shared.

In "Mastring Melee & Magic" manual in Table 4: Wild Surges, page 141 it says:
Current: 20% of party gold destroyed
Expected: 80% of party gold destroyed

Observed behaviour of the game just like Jalily in this thread: http://forum.baldursgate.com/discussion/4964/rework-or-remove-the-wild-mage-surges-that-lead-to-instant-quicksave-reload#p6 .

Good catch; I remember that conversation, but it happened after the manual had already been approved. I'll make a note of it.

There is a second one in 142. Are those two different? In Tob it was "Gold on the caster is destroyed" and "Destroy all gold on target". I mean the targets are different of course, but I guess they can stacked with 31 or 48 (90?) if there are multiple rolls. So are they different in percentage?
  • DeeDee Member Posts: 10,447
I believe they're both supposed to be 80%, but I could be mistaken. @Jalily, have you looked at the "gold on target" one at all?
