To be honest it's not a problem for me if someone want to play even at 999 FPS. But I don't believe it is a matter of life and death either. There are 15175663 bugs now which are more important to fix and I don't think that the game is unplayable without this particular thing.
And to @freelapdenace! Babypace, dumbed down game? Let me quote BG1 for you: "Thank you for that wonderful display of simian logic, now scram."
Would like to join the line of people wanting this option. Those arguing against it can just play the game on 30 FPS and let people play the way they prefer.

Squashing bugs and re-adding a fps slider, or even a command string for it is entirely different timescales, but thank you for your completely useless feedback, in the event you get back with more dysfunctional knowledge, try to spell my nickname right the next time you address me.

Like you would know if it is even possible! They changed half of the original engine, so maybe they had to sacrifice this option for some improvements. I am terribly sorry about your name.

Im on my third year of a technical artist university education, meaning i have dabbled a fair bit in programming. If i didnt know it would be a catastrophic failure of an education now wouldnt it?
Now if you dont mind this thread could use one less troll, shoo off and play your 30 fps and let us get back on topic.

If you're really in your third year of university you should be mature enough not to brag about it. Being smart does not automatically mean you're mature...sadly.
On the topic: I would also agree on implementing an option to increase fps. That would make everyone happy.

WHERE exactly do you see the bragging part? He questioned wheter or not i knew what i was talking about. I replied with my credentials to do so.

Your answer doesn't surprise me. It seems you really can't see it, therefore proving my point. I ain't going to discuss that further though. Have a nice day!

The problem is, there is an option to increase it, but its currently broken... :P would be nice if they fixed it.

Well, I am just a lowly electrical engineering student maybe you should teach me some clairvoyance for I am unable do decide wheter it's possible or not without seeing the actual code.
holy jumpins, i think we all need to calm down just a tad here, i hate 30 fps, but im still playing it ( despite the fact it makes me want to engage in an uninvolentary personal protein spill of stomach enzymes) like seriously, some of us have multi thousand dollar pc's, do you know why? so any new game that comes out can be played at 60, not 30, i hope the beam dog crew is really looking into this, because there be a lot of rage coming out of it, and i think that when they make bg2 frame updates to 60 is going to be manditory or else people are going to gather pitch forks and torches and world war 3 is gonna start........... but in the mean time we will all just have to do what irenicus said: patience imoen, soon it will all end
Indeed, this is the main issue for me that is making me to NOT play the game. I always played it at 45 or 50fps, 30fps is incredibly slow - and it's worst when you're exploring because you have to permaclick your way in order to reveal the fog, and every time you send an order, the group stop for a second and then starts again. UGH, IT'S SO FRIGGIN ANNOYING!
This and the fact that i have to play it in English if i want to hear the voices - putting it in Spanish turns everyone into mute people. I mean, i really hate the Spanish voices, i prefer the original ones, but i can't hear them if i want to read it in my own language. Terrible mess.

same here, actually gone off to finish a "long forgotten" (about 4 months old? ) BG2 run (I always get bored after the millions of chapter 2 sidequests), but a little rest, and the true appreciation for 60 FPS can fix a lot of things. and it's awesome.
omg 60 FPS FTW lol yeah i played the original game in 30 FPS than tried 60 and could never go back....it is mostly because of the walking....walking takes forever....
Just so you guys know, I've fixed this engine side. We don't have an ETA on a new patch, but this should be part of it.
Could you guys fix the language + voices problem too? I think that it's the only problem (aside from the fps) i've got with the game tbh, the rest looks awesome.
James @redletterday0 @TrentOster Is there anyway to rejigger the baldur.ini to make the game run at 60 fps? 30 fps doesnt satisfy my need for speed
FavoritedFavorite 3:38 AM - 4 Dec 12 · Details 1h Trent Oster @TrentOster @redletterday0 Scott just re-added it to the code base.
Hope this pleases some of you who were so dissapointed about being unable to change the fps... Hope the people who blew their tops and asked for a refund now reconsider, seeing as its being readded within a week..

Have an equally nice day. Ill be hitting the sack soon enough.
Granted, not perfect, but it helps.
And, for me, this is the fourth most serious issue, 1-3 being the three buggy npcs.

Thank you so much. I would buy you a beer if I was still in Edmonton lol.
