Unfortunately, I don't know the area codes. It's the two areas after the first new one. I think it's called "Fields of the Dead" or something similar. I'm on SoD right now so I can't check the exact name.

It's good to know that it does work so it's a compatibility issue. I even made sure that I installed it last before the final tweaks were performed.

Where is one supposed to download Dark Side and Northern Side?

DSotSC for BG:EE: see the first post of this thread.

DSotSC for BGT or EET: https://github.com/SpellholdStudios/DSotSC/releases

    NTotSC: https://github.com/SpellholdStudios/NTotSC/releases

Just want to report that in the EET version the new areas do not appear in the world map (subsequent to meeting Jet'laya and accepting her quest) and there is no way to access them from any of the map's areas. But if I teleport to one of them with the console (by pasting some code taken from the internet) the teleport works. Still the area doesn't show in the world map, so you can only get out but cannot get in again besides teleporting.

What's your weidu.log and did you start a new game after you installed the mod? (Because this never happened to me.)

Can't retrive the weidu.log because I deleted the install. This was my mod list and install order, anyway:
    a. DLC merger
    b. BG1 Unfinished Business
    c. EET
    d. Fishing for trouble
    e. Back to Brynnlaw
    f. Assassinations
    g. Cowled menace
    h. Heroes, thieves and moneylenders
    i. Dungeon Crawl
    j. Northern Tales of the Sword Coast
    k. Dark Side of the Sword Coast
    l. Fading Promises
    m. Baldur's Gate Mini Quests and Encounters
    n. Balduran’s Seatower
    o. The Lure of the Siren’s call
    p. BG2 Unfinished Business
    q. Banter pack
    r. Ascension
    s. Wheels of Prophecy
    t. Tweaks Anthology
    u. EET Tweaks
    v. SCS
    w. EEex
    x. Bubb’s Spell Menu Extended
    y. Hidden gameplay options
    z. Portraits portraits everywhere
    aa. EET end
I should also add about Dark Side that I only went for quest content and did not install the additional spells.
Yes the game was started after the whole install finished (without errors) with EET end. The NTotSC new areas instead appeared normally.
Any suspicion on what could be?

    @crosiasse
The EET version of DSotSC patches the EET worldmap. So far, there were no reports about areas not appearing on the worldmap.

Some comments to the install order for next time:
EEEx needs to go very early.
    Bubb's Spell menue too.
NTotSC should be after DSotSC, as stated in the readme.
BG2 Unfinished Business as an early questmod.
    Ascension earlier, too.
Wheels of Prophecy has known issues currently, especially with Ascension together.

    Bug report (for v1.02):

The Shadows, Wights, and Wraiths on the "Forest of Forgotten Souls" and neighboring map permanently disappear when it's daytime, i.e. they fail to reappear at night. They have the script NIGHT.BCS, in which the second block's trigger seems wrong:
    IF
    	TimeOfDay(DAY)
    THEN
    	RESPONSE #100
    		Deactivate(Myself(Myself))
    END

    IF
    	TimeOfDay(DAY)
    THEN
    	RESPONSE #100
    		Activate(Myself(Myself))
    END

Hmmm. That didn't happen before EE, that is, in Tutu.

That must have been to do with the testing when it was ported over to BGEE.

There might be a looping script causing stutter in the mod, see here. EDIT: I might have been too hasty. Sorry if this is the case.

Just following the install instructions for DSotSC for BG:EE, and now it won't run
    (it just doesn't launch)
My version of BG:EE is 2.6.6.0, downloaded from GOG today, launching without going through the hideous Galaxy front end, no synching with what's on GOG
I uninstalled, and it runs fine
    Anything I can check out?

Just checked: Same problem with NTotSC as well, so possibly something to do with the GOG version?

    Did you install DLC Merger?
  • michael_snowmichael_snow Member Posts: 40
Ah ha! Found that I need to install DLCMerger first!
Could I ask that this is added to the Read Me in big letters?
    Thanks

OK, now I've hit a snag
Picked up Jet'Laya, been to Northern Citadel and done All The Things there, popped over to Map One of the Lost Souls to do her quests, no problems at all
When moving to the second LS map, either from the first (Eastern edge) or from any other map, I get a crash
After a few attempts I tried the third LS map, same error
I don't know what software to use to read the .dmp files (and there are many ;) )
    Any hints?

    Followup:
I've tried dropping Jet'Laya before travelling, no difference
I've tried dropping all items, and travelling 'naked', no difference
I don't know how to verify my .ARE files

Are you using EET? I've tested the BGEE version many times without it crashing. The problem could be down to a creature in that area which may have been modified incorrectly by another mod.
  • michael_snowmichael_snow Member Posts: 40
EET? Sorry, don't know what that is
I'm using BG:EE with DSOTSC, NTOTSC, and Unfinished Business
    I'm running in 64-bit Windows
I followed the order listed to install, so DSOTSC and NTOTSC were the last installed
If I could read the dump file I might be able to determine which file is causing the issue
What software do I need for that?
    Thanks

But you mentioned creature ... and those areas are full of undead, yes?
If I do a search for text strings using NearInfinity I do get a whole swathe of errors for the Undead .CRE files e.g. GGHAST_O.CRE and GGHOUL_O.CRE
Can I extract just the CRE files from the MOD and stick them into the override folder?
  • michael_snowmichael_snow Member Posts: 40
(My Modding knowledge is painfully weak)
  • michael_snowmichael_snow Member Posts: 40
Yeah, trying to open almost any of the CRE files in the override folder NearInfinity gives error 'error reading <creaturecode>.CRE null'

I've exported a few to another folder along with some original files (e.g. GHAST.CRE (original) and GHAST_O.CRE (override)) but what should I use to look at them if NearInfinity can't open them?
  • michael_snowmichael_snow Member Posts: 40
Hoorah! Based upon your hint about broken .CRE files, I replaced every .CRE and one .ARE file that NI couldn't open from the DSOTSC zip and that seems to have fixed it!
  • michael_snowmichael_snow Member Posts: 40
    Nope, not fixed
While the second LS area had the phantoms fighting (and nothing happening after watching them for ages) the third was completely empty
So I uninstalled, and reinstalled DSotSC - and it brought back all the bugged CRE files that I had fixed

So, I guess next step is to uninstall DS, download the latest version fresh, install that fresh, and see what happens

    I give up
Somehow reinstalling DSotSC has buggered up many of my settings from CDTweaks, so I need to start again :(
Is there a list somewhere of the recommended Mods and the order they need to be installed?
    Thanks

Are you running version dsotscv1.02? Also make sure you start a new game after any re-installing.
