Does this mod have crossmod with Roxanne's Shine on Caelar which adds Caelar to ToB? If not, did you have some planned?
Thankee!
Everyone here LOVES Roxanne for her stellar work ethic, her deep respect for other modders work, her honesty and openess plus her concern over other modder's feelings regarding "borrowing" their mods.
So yeah, it will likely be compatible eventually...courtesy of Roxanne herself!
I have to say I admire your patience and mettle in the face of constant bouts of sheer stupidity.
If I know Lava, he's melting from the inside. 😋 To be honest I visit this forum, but also G3 and SHS forums, less frequently now, for this very reason. There is no single thread I open without this, not single one. I've just had a mental overload.
I just noticed that All Things Mazzy's For The Evil component has some interesting and relevant stuff that Herphnaan would likely either want to promote, provoke, or comment on. The authors of this mod have given the world permission to alter the mod and do crossmod.
If I decide that I want to create crossmod content with any specific mod, I know how to organize that and I am aware of other mods out there. It may be shocking, but I read the forum and check out the announcements.
Failed to register at weasel forum for years, so I will leave a short appreciation here.
Just started a new BG2 save recently, and not sure whether I can finish it (started too many times in recent years ), and installed majority of your npc mods and a few new quest mods this time. 20 hours in game, I just managed to see some dialogues and quests from Dvaradime, Khalid, Hephernaan, Skie and Yvette, and really impressed with the writing.
Very impressed with Khalid, Hephernaan and Skie, they sound so natural and believable, especially Hephernaan, feel really like the original npcs from SOD. Having them in the party is so much fun and refreshing, as the story connection with SOD seems so real now.
Dvaradime is also surprisingly good, I installed him just to check him out, doing some quests and see if I like him or not (not part of my permanent party member plan this time), but I almost change my plan because I enjoy his writing, the starting quest is pretty well done, definitely bringing him for a full run some day.
And I can't believe you have released so many new mods (when I was not checking) in just like around 1 year, it is unbelievable
Well, just coming to say thanks, hope this save is stable and I have the patience to finish it after chapter 3.
Hi! Not sure if by failed you mean you didn't get the email or just you didn't find the time -- if it's the email that for some reason never reached you, PM me and I can activate your account manually.
As for your feedback on the mods: thank you! I am glad you like the mods I make! While I know some are better than others, there are some I am really proud of! I wanted the games to feel alive, I wanted there to be both evil characters, good and compassionate ones, weird ones, and those that do not feel as epic while still being interesting and just cool to keep around (yes, Skie, that's about you).
Hephernaan was always this kind of character that was somewhat challenging because I wanted him to be evil, yet not cartoonish. And Dvaradime... oh, I had so much fun writing him, even though the way he speaks was so damn hard to write!
If you enjoyed Dvaradime, you may also like Lhannd and Fyalvara. They both come with nice quests that gives you chance to decide if you want to keep them even once their missions are finished
lol How can I recruit him? After I used the book and talk to him, he just kicked me out and stole the book. Am I not EVIL enough for him or what? My rep is 19 but I killed Garren child and the exterminated Moist Radiant Heart to the last tincan.
Give him a moment, rest somewhere and you should be able to talk to him pretty soon. But perhaps you should also try to keep your reputation a bit lower if you're to travel with evil characters.
I was reading through all of the comments and just remembered what an absolute blast I had last time I played with this mod. Hephernaan is a must have for any evil playthrough as far as I'm concerned. He really adds a lot of flavor to the story. I'm not going to say too much because I don't want to start dropping spoilers but this is definitely one of my favorite Lava NPCs.
I'll have to remember to add this mod again when I do my next BG2EE playthrough for sure.
Thanks! I think it was updated a bit since you last played it.

@LavaDelVortel let me know if this is not appropriate to say, but there is also crossmod content between this npc and my Crucible mod with a bit of added banter.
@morpheus562
Oh, the comments about *that item* we talked about and included in your mod, right? Yep, it's in The Crucible, it was fun playing with that idea and stuff Thanks for working with me on that as well as on other things
Lava, are there any in-game BG2 npcs (or extra BG2EE npcs) you'd recommend to take along on a Hephernaan run? I've been binging NPC mod runs and this is a particular character I've been really intrigued to get to (just the idea of taking an actual devil along is great), but I always make sure to take along a couple of Bioware/Beamdog NPCs each time to make sure to get a few extra dialogues.
I am not sure there is anyone specific I would recommend, BUT remember that siding with Hephernaan will make it impossible for you to keep many good NPCs. IIRC, you cannot take Keldorn, (good) Anomen, Rasaad, Valygar, and Mazzy? I don't remember if I missed someone. Minsc may want you to choose if you're with good or with bad. I think it could be nice to mix him with Dorn, Haer'Dalis, maybe Hexxat/Yoshimo? It may be a good idea to have a cleric like Viconia?
I did the Heph quest to kill the demons, I had the talk after, then I got the talk when Heph got wounded talking about “It’s a wonder your kind…” and ending with “Think of Sarevok…” Heph has been quiet since. What do I need to trigger his next convo or is that it for Chapter 2/3?
I think Hephernaan also needs to get hurt for the next talk to fire, but I think it may be a bug, I must be copying scripts and I forgot to change that trigger.

That worked! Wow, I did not expect Heph's new patron to be offering all these items (for a price, but of course, they're an actual devil)! That was a delightful bonus. Since I'm absolutely wanting the worst possible consequences (what's the point of taking along an actual devil if you DON'T make yourself tempted by all their offers) I took every deal. Is there a list of all the items the Evil Core works with? Human Flesh +5 and Soul Reaver come to mind for evil items, and maybe Carsomyr as a Holy one? Also do any ToB items like the Purifier from Watcher's work, and can Cespenar use the Core like Cromwell does to upgrade stuff? I'm so worried I'll use it and then find something better to boost!
Glad it worked! And nope, there is no list, I encourage you to try it with different items and see if it works I think the script responsible for that is L#HPHBOD.baf and you can get through it to see what it detects, but that may spoil the fun
I think it was mostly just friendship / scenery talks in ToB, with a little something if you acquired and kept one item introduced by the mod - The Hunting Mink +4. ToB is rather simple, most of his plots happen in SoA.
Just finished with Hephernaan (and Walahnan, will comment on that separately). This one was fantastic! There were several great twists in the SoA portion, and I appreciate that you didn't go the predictable route in having him betray us at the end. I also appreciate that there was no redemption, but there is sort of a mutual respect formed from your travels. This is a devil from Avernus. It isn't in their nature to change from being fundamentally evil, but it is in their nature to evolve and adapt to the situation they are in. Heph is an actual devil and thoroughly evil, but Lava's take is more nuanced than some of the evil Bioware and Beamdog NPC companions. Definitely try him whether you've played SoD or not; he's fun either way!
The evil ones, considering the "goodiest" will leave you. I would mix him with Viconia, Hexxat, perhaps with Dorn. But that's me and it's not like it must be that configuration.

(Specifically, I used the BG2EE chapter patcher.)

In case you wanted to mix him with another mod NPC, you should know he's also included in the Crossmod Banter Pack
