It's been a good custom of this forum, to have football prediction threads for each big tournament. Look at how fun the previous threads were:
World Cup 2018
Euro 2016
World Cup 2014
Euro 2020 will have 24 teams and has a difficult (from the first look) system for defining teams getting to knockout stages. But please read the description on Wiki and you'll see that it's not that difficult, actually. You just have to guess which 4 teams from 3rd places will be better than the rest 4 teams from 3rd places.
It starts this week already!
Groups & Schedule
Current FIFA rankings
So, what team do you think will win? Germany? Belgium? Portugal? France? Spain? England? Another country?
@booinyoureyes won the World Cup 2014 prediction game.
@FinneousPJ won the Euro 2016 prediction game.
@Pibaro won the Confederations Cup 2017 prediction game.
@Doubledimas won the World Cup 2018 prediction game.
@bengoshi was the winner of match-by-match predictions in 2014.
@FinneousPJ was the winner of match-by-match predictions in 2016.
@Montresor_SP was the winner of match-by-match predictions in 2017.
@FinneousPJ was the winner of match-by-match predictions in 2018.
Anyone interested can post their predictions regarding a champion, a vice-champion, as well as group winners. You can also post your predictions for all matches (as they go day by day) before each kick-off.
Everything is optional (you can make those predictions you want, for example, predict only group winners and overall winners).
1) guessing the right outcome = 1 point
2) guessing the right score = 2 points (so that 51 matches potentially can give 102 points)
3) guessing the champion (before the tournament starts) = 25 points
4) guessing the vice-champion (before the tournament starts) = 10 points
5) guessing the right team to qualify from the group (before the tournament starts) = 2 points (per team)
6) bonus for the right prediction regarding the 1 & 2 places (their final standings don't matter; before the tournament starts) = 10 points
For the matches after the group phase:
guessing the right outcome and the right score should be done only regarding normal time (so it can be only this way: team A wins in normal time; team B wins in normal time, a draw in normal time)
Tagging people from previous football-related threads (hope some of you are still active):

Also, if you're new and haven't participated in such threads before - welcome!
Before the very first kick-off everyone can give the prognosis regarding the champion, the vice-champion and teams to qualify from the groups. A one-off prediction.
You can post your prediction regarding the nearest games (before they start) and I will put it into an Excel table. Then, after the games will be over, we can count points for successful predictions.

Champion = France
Vice-champion = England
Teams to qualify from the groups:
Turkey, Italy, Wales
Denmark, Belgium
Netherlands, Ukraine
England, Croatia, Scotland
Spain, Sweden, Poland
Portugal, France, Germany
Also, I see some exciting games in the knockout stages, potentially:
England vs Germany
Netherlands vs Portugal
Belgium vs France
Game on!
I have a feeling that this will NOT be a tournament of surprises, though. One of the usual favourites will raise the cup in the end. As usual I'm very curious how my team (Poland) will do this time. From the negatives, there are quite a few injuries, that can impact the overal game style. The positives? Seems the new coach, Paulo Sousa, brought a good atmosphere to the team, everyone seems relaxed and hungry for this tournament to finally start. Also RL9 is in it's finest and this is probably the best chance for him to finally shine in an international cup. I just really hope that Milik will recover fully from his last minute injury. They really played well together in the past and Milik had a great spring in Olympique Marseille.
Champion = Slovakia
Vice Champion = North Macedonia
Well, a natural 20 can still happen. Remember this story? https://www.cbssports.com/soccer/news/a-woman-won-a-5000-to-1-bet-on-leicester-city-made-for-her-as-a-joke/

I also think the Championship will be void of surprise and major upsets. France the most likely champion, and England will fail again. But I am aiming for the win here, so I will rely on some upsets and cast my votes a different way.
I would love to see Dennark as a surprising winner here, but I will hedge my bet. If Danmark wins, I will most likely not win this challenge - but I can live with that
Here are my predictions:

Christian Eriksen passed out on the field, and was rushed to the hospital. Most of us danes followed the match live and where deeply chocked. I think the whole nation held it’s breath for an hour or so. Thankfully he is better.
We lost to Finland, but it seems utterly unimportant right now. It’s just a game after all..
I'm really glad he's OK now, and I hope he will recover quickly! This match should not be continued today.
Too bad Scotland lost - I think they were the better team. Oh well, not every match becomes Holland-Ukraine, I guess.

England did do well. But they lack a champion coach as I see it - the other favourites have an edge there imho. Time will tell if makes a difference this time around

I had 7 (seven!) matches in a row without guessing even the correct result. @Cahir is winning this in style!
Tuesday 22 June

Spain vs Croatia: 2:0 (0:0 after 90 mins)
France vs Switzerland: 1:0
Germany vs England: 2:0
Sweden vs Ukraine: 1:0 (0:0 after 90 mins)
Seemingly some teams have an easier route to a final than others.. But then again the Euros have always been a magnet for upsets, so it may not matter at all.
@Cahir guessed correctly 14 teams, everyone else - only 13. So Cahir gets additional 28 points, everyone else - 26 points.
My predictions:
Denmark vs Wales: 2:1
Italy vs Austria: 2:0
Holland vs Czech rep: 2:1
Belgium vs Portugal: 2:2 - overall, I think Portugal will go through (the Ronaldo factor)
Spain vs Croatia: 1:1 - a difficult one, I vote for Croatia
France vs Switzerland: 2:0
Germany vs England: 0:0 - England will go through
Sweden vs Ukraine: 1:0
Italy vs Austria: 3:0
The Netherlands vs Czech Republic: 3:1
Belgium vs Portugal: 2:2 (Belgium advances)
Spain vs Croatia: 1:1 (Croatia advances)
France vs Switzerland: 3:0
Germany vs England: 2:1
Sweden vs Ukraine: 1:0
Italy vs Austria: 2:0
Netherlands vs Czech rep: 3:2
Belgium vs Portugal: 2:1
Spain vs Croatia: 3:1
France vs Switzerland: 3:0
Germany vs England: 0:1
Sweden vs Ukraine: 2:0
