Hi Lava - wow a new mod and area ... what my character is thinking as my PC sits on the beach (Athkatlan Sands)
While sitting on the beach my PC ponders as she over hears about a new area to explore:
a) How Imoen is doing in prison and I hope Irenicus is suffering
b) Disturbing dreams with Irenicus and Imoen in them – no more please – what did I eat to get these dreams ...
c) How to raise 40,000gp and equipping everyone – damn this Irenicus seems more powerful than Sarevok
d) Why does the Bridge district have unseen monsters and a murderer flaying people ....
e) Why can't romance be easy ... Budding romance issues – Aerie, Jaheria and Viconia are all in the party – maybe a harem lol
f) I really like lying on the beach, the sand is warm and comfortable – sigh – being The Hero of BG is overrated – lets be the Hero of Athkatlan Sands instead ... how does that sound ...hmmmm
g) And now a new area has opened up (your new mod) which requires travelling to new places … (getting up slowly from the sand and brushing it off) I guess the sand was getting into places where it shouldn’t and I guess (sighs heavily) I need to make some gold or else Imoen is going to rot in prison … life was simpler at level 1 fighting wolves …lol
BTW - I'm currently still in chapter 2 and have not left the city yet - will your new mod install correctly into a saved game?
Hey!
You will need to leave this mod for next time, as it adds stuff to the worldmap and it won't show properly if you already started a new game... Unless you use the "update saved games" option, but while I add this setup option as I was once asked for that by another modder, I avoid using that option myself...
curst path open to these that do not wish to take the new npc? It would be actually cool if you could play the mod until the point where the girl attacks the place, even if you do not have the npc. And be gifted the new status by helping them
Erm, it's not what happens in the mod? It's not a "gift". The encounter that leads to a change is going to happen no matter if you join the new NPC or not. The whole quest part can be played without joining Xzelë. Furthermore, the two mini-quests - one with Ohm and Curst encounter - do not require her presence. The change is a romance requirement, but it doesn't matter you need her to go through the change.
Most of her talks happen around the quest: it is best to join her sooner rather than later -- she will react to stuff on your way to the Amkethran + talks on your way through new areas. To trigger the romance, you will need to give her some sort of sign, tell her it's good to have her around. These options pop up if your PC is also a female and you do not have any other romance. If you are in another romantic relationship, she won't be interested. You also need to make sure to join her during your first conversation.
Hi... im not able to find the heart for Xzelë Melaenitt in the quest... i spend over 1 h and check everything 3 times in graveyard disttict could you please advise where i can find it?
Was that the quest that involved the ghoul and his past? If only I remembered titles of my own quests
If so, the journal was somewhere in the Mimic's Cave (Umar Hills)
Hi @LavaDelVortel sorry for a dumb question, but I am somehow confused - when I downloaded the Mod from Weasel forum I remember reading that Xzelë may romance female CHARNAME, but now when I look here in this forum, it is described that she will romance only male CHARNAME and even on Weasel forums it is now described as male romance - so am I crazy and made that in my head, or was there on Weasel forums some mistake which was in the meantime corrected and now I have no chance of romance Xzelë since I play as a female character? (maybe edit my character in EEkeeper but I don't know if that would not break my game in some way or if Xzelë would recognize the change due to some already set variables? 🤔 )
Xzelë was always a straight romance. I think you might have confused her with Juniper that only romances other women.
Xzelë has a complex script, because there is some content for gay PC, or lesbian PC, and a standard friendship and a straight romance, so I wouldn't recommend playing with variables and fixing it. Perhaps chose someone else to romance this time or wait to romance Juniper in ToB.
Wow, thanks a lot for such a quick answer (do you even sleep or rest sometimes? ) Neverthless shame on me that I obviously can't read properly and maybe it was Juniper, because I have her installed too.
Nevermind, thanks a lot again
What are the trad offs for becoming undead? The disadvantages always
scared me, so I didn't go through with it. The other parts of the add-on
are great though. Admittedly I'd rather slay undeads, but giving players
a choice is a fun idea.
What is the role of that dwarf to the right though? Does he have a purpose
or is he just mining ghouls and other graveyards at night?
Just save, change, and then read the information on the new item you will be forced to wear. It includes information about everything that comes with the change. You are informed more or less what the results are in the dialogue, numbers just reflect that. But if you do not like the change, after checking all the numbers you can just load the game. I don't want to spoil everything in the thread.
The undead dwarf is there for Xzelë and her personal quest.
I'm thinking of using this mod on my next run through the series. So a quick question: for the romance with Xzelë Melaenitt, are there are any requirements other than being male? (I assume that because she's a paladin, the PC can't be evil? Anything else?)
She's not THAT kind of paladin, she's more neutral. She's a champion of her deity, who is mostly neutral, thus she is more neutral herself. To romance Xzelë your character needs to be male AND you need to perform a certain change introduced by the mod. If I can suggest something: the change feels more beneficial to non-casters, it may work better on those who fight a bit better or can do at least both. You can still perform it when playing a mage or a sorcerer, but it may be harder to use the benefits of the change and/or avoid penalties.
Role-playing-wise, it feels best when you're not exactly playing a murderous psycho, but I kinda feel that way about 85% romances that are out there
I'm not getting the impression this is harmful, but I just installed the mod, and when I start the game EEex is giving me this warning:
[string "M_DW_DKD.lua"]:55:']' expected near 's'
Digging into that lua file, line 55 has 'Evening Glory's Cherished', and that tilde in Glory's seems to be ending the expected format of the kit name too early. That lua file seems to dictate the class list during chargen, but I can't see that it messes anything up, so I don't think it's causing any real problems? Just wanted to bring this up so that anyone getting the same warning doesn't panic.
I "fixed" it by changing it to "Cherished of the Evening Glory". Probably not the intended naming, but at least I can start up the game without EEex jumping on it.
I have the mod installed on my current playthrough along with SCS. I amplaying an evil character and I keep getting this message shown up in fights:
CHARNAME: Controlled by Cleric
It took me a few times to realize that:
After becoming an undead, I am vulnerable to enemy clerics using the Turn Undead ability!
This adds a lot of difficulty to the game. I keep getting one-shot in Sendai's enclave to her clones (I do this part solo). Is this intended or an oversight?
Hi! First of all, I do not play with SCS and I do not know what sort of changes it applies to scripts, et cetera.
However, yes -- Turn Undead is supposed to work on you. All spells that target undead creatures will also become way more effective against your character. You are recognized as an undead now, because you are one. That is also why you were warned again right before the change.
The fact you want to face Sendai solo, is... well, your choice. Perhaps get one more character to help you.
The change mentioned in the spoiler comes with benefits, but also with other consequences. After all, such choices should affect the gameplay.
I hope you will find a way to get through the fight.
I thought I would mention that I cannot access the area above the Ankheg nest ("l#xze2"). The path from the eastern part of the temple area ("l#xze1") does not work and when I use the console to go to the area ("l#xze2") the game crashes. Fortunately, I could console the party to the connected areas ("l#xze3" and "l#xze4") in order to complete the two quests. Everything else seems to be working fine.
Urm, I don't know why would that happen. It's been played and tested many times. I presume the animation for some reason picked some faulty slot as it was empty and others were used by other mods? But it that's a guess as I never encounter such bug...
