The "Hidden Gameplay Options" mod only exposes existing game options to the player. It does not reset any options when the mod is uninstalled.

If you want to get rid of everything then you'd have to rename or delete the baldur.lua file.

Yeah, that's one of the options you should never activate unless you know what you're doing. You could probably reset the UI by removing the file UI.MENU from the override folder of the game. But if you've installed mods that made changes to the UI then these changes would also be removed.

yes, i have SCS, EEex and bubbs spell menu so i think its risky. maybe you can tell me where i can adjust middle menu with battle log in UI menu? it's now unadjustable and misaligned.
btw. "Yeah, that's one of the options you should never activate unless you know what you're doing. " i think it should be mentioned in readme.
Also that uninstall is not bringing back the basic settings.

UI.MENU is a huge and complex collection of UI definitions. It's impossible to tell what has to be changed to revert any unintended modifications, even more so if other mods have changed the content. Especially DavidW's mods are known for making substantial changes to the UI.
You could try to fix the changes in the game with UI Mode enabled, but make a backup of UI.MENU first, just in case.

No, it's not. As I said, this mod only exposes existing but hidden game options by adding the respective UI controls to the game options screen. The baldur.lua file isn't even touched by the mod installation itself.

    18. Add in-game option "No Cosmetic Attacks" (only available for PST:EE)

Enabling this option shows attack animations only when characters are making real attacks. This option is already available in unmodded BG:EE, BG2:EE and IWD:EE.

Option can be found in Gameplay section.

Hello, why didn't you add the option also for Baldur's gate?

What do you mean? The quote you have cited from the readme already states: "This option is already available in unmodded BG:EE, BG2:EE and IWD:EE."

Sorry, I couldn't find it in the menu. Then I found it.

I saw the following option: 25. Add in-game option "Enhanced Path Search": Improves pathfinding by continuously recalculating the search path of characters.

Do you think it can sub the "BUBB pathfinding mod"? (this one: https://forums.beamdog.com/discussion/comment/1096196/#Comment_1096196)

can you make cdtweaks "hide helmet animation" a hidden gameplay option or would that a bit too hard? would be awesome to have that as a toggle
  • argent77argent77 Member Posts: 3,639
That's a separate issue that is not directly related to the game option.

That tweak patches all helmets of the game individually and removes their helmet animation. It's not possible to toggle anything on or off.

New release: Reveal Hidden Gameplay Options v5.1

    Changelog:
    • Added option to remove the Show/Hide toggle from the PST:EE cheat menu
    • Added support for the UI mod "IWDEE-UI-BGEE"
    • Updated Polish and Simplified Chinese translations
    • Improved compatibility with LeUI's "Reverse Buttons Positions" option
    • Improved compatibility with game patch 2.7
  • FireballFodderFireballFodder Member Posts: 18
I didn't test this too extensively with different mod combinations, but version 5.1 doesn't seem to install on lefreut's Enhanced UI for IWD:EE (can't patch ui.menu). This was on game version 2.7 and leUI version 2.0. Version 5.0 still does.

It's caused by a tweak I had to add for LeUI in the latest version. However, that tweak doesn't appear to be compatible with LeUI for IWD:EE. I'll provide a fixed version shortly.

It now installs without issues, but the cheat menu doesn't look quite right.

You're right. The cheat menu has some display issues either. I have uploaded a quick fix to the devel branch. Use this until a new mod version is released: A7-HiddenGameplayOptions-leui-iwdee-compat

Due to circumstances I'm limited to a Linux rig atm, but of course I'd like to play at least some games, and still modded if possible.

I got PSTEE running, and WeiDU seemed to be installing mods okay, but at least this one doesn't seem to work (others might not either). The extra options that should appear under 'Gameplay' just... don't. I do not have any other GUI mods installed.

Is this an unfortunate Linux quirk?

EDIT: nevermind, I remembered I could test if other mods work by spawning a mod item, and it didn't work, so it's unlikely any mods work. :(

Modding these games on Linux is tricky, even with the latest WeiDU version. The biggest hurdle are usually Lua calls which are treated case-sensitive in the game, or calls of external tools at mod installation.

I'd still suggest to prepare a case-insensitive game installation for modding. Several options are described in this G3 topic: https://www.gibberlings3.net/forums/topic/28516-the-linux-users-guide-to-installing-mods-on-the-enhanced-editions

In any case, I would personally avoid modding PSTEE until 3.2 patch is released (currently in beta), because current 3.1.4 patch includes the infamous ’Modron Maze’ reset -bug, that can seriously mess with modded playthroughs.

Only way to avoid the bug in 3.1.4 is to biff all files in override folder and modify chitin.key. (not possible on mobile platforms, not sure about Linux)

I am using a ciopfs method, actually stumbled upon the one mentioned in that G3 topic by accident lol. Also got the mods working: WeiDU dropped all mod files in the override in the game folder, while they should have gone in Linux' version of My Documents.

I did just install Generalized Biffing just to be safe. Is there an ETA on the 3.2 wide release?
