The BG1 plot twist involving "Koveras" totally had me fooled, even when I was playing the game for the first time at age 10.

Mark Meer is really bad. Neera's voice actor sounded so much better and I like Jennifer Hale better in Mass Effect

There actually exists a set of books based on the Baldur's Gate series. They are centered around a very believable protagonist called Abdel Adrian and are extremely well written.
