I see that some people (i.e: elminster) have already been chosen for beta testing. If someone signs up for beta, how quickly can they expect a response as to whether they've been selected?

    Great news!

Are we getting Icewind Dale II in the future? (I hope we will and it's probable I guess).

IWD2 really needs a new engine as the previous one didn't support hardware acceleration for graphics cards, which resulted in lagginess when lots of stuff happened, even with modern systems.

I know that because the original assets were lost for BG:EE and BGII:EE, HD versions were not a possibility. But what about the original assets for IWD:EE ??

Came home from a tough day of work to this which cheered me up immediately. Can't wait to see the beautiful landscapes with the updated graphics.

Great news. I still haven't decided if I will buy iPad version only or the PC version too (like I did with bgee and bg2ee).

Question, Dee: is this affected by all the nonsense last year with Atari or is the game "all yours" so to speak? Either way... ID:EE, woo!!!

I have just finished a IWD playthrough the other day, and was often thinking to myself, how I would LOVE if they used the BG2 Engine / rules ... THANK YOU!! I've played IWD since I was but a wee kid ... BG series back then was too "technical" for me (I didn't understand anything of what was going on:P) IWD was easier to go to... Cause it was more fighter friendly :P

Go to the bottom of icewinddale.com

Close to the very bottom of that page (under the answer for the final FAQ question) you'll find the link for the sign up form.

Good news, but I am kind of disappointed by the "enhanced features":
    New UI - cool
Port to BG2 engine - cool, even though it will most likely screw up the balance (just as with BG:EE)
    Crossplatform multiplayer - cool

So, thats basically it? After releasing two Enhanced Editions and gathering vast experience with the Infinity Engine, I had thought Beamdog to be able to put a little more/new features into their next game.
What about voiced companions? What about some actual graphical improvements on the sprites?
