Figured I'd make first thread in this section of the forum. What better way than to inquire about what class/kits people are looking forward to seeing in IWDEE.
Skald bard and Barbarian. To me, those two classes fit the setting very well.
Beat me to it, skald and barbarian just belong in the setting (and my party will have at least one of each). What else? Swashbuckler, dwarven defender, dragon disciple... everything! Cavalier? Archer? Wild mage? My brain is melting!
EDIT: A thought to ponder... do you think they will introduce barbarian kits when IWD:EE releases, and update BG:EE and BG2:EE with them? That would be totally freakin' r0x0r!
Skald/Barbarian (they fit so well) and Undead Hunter. (the perfect paladin kit for this game. At least the early game. I don't know the latter half very well.)
Barbarian for role-playing's sake, Sorcerer for explodey fun time goodness. I do feel like I'll be more inclined to play Sorcerer in Icewind Dale than in Baldur's Gate. Has something to do with the whole make your own entire party thing.
I also like the prospect of perhaps hacking/modding the game to play with a normally unplayable "monster" character - like a minotaur fighter, for example. Unlike BG, we wouldn't really have to worry about explaining such a character's background.
Funny enough, while BG is generally regarded (and probably rightfully) as a better game than IWD due to its collection of NPCs with unique backgrounds and personalities, not having to worry about a character's background also has its advantages, and is a nice change of pace for someone like me, who has been immersed in BG:EE for so long.
Barbarian kits can't technically be done as the Barbarian itself is coded as a Fighter kit. But it may be possible to add alternate Barbarian versions...
I'd like to see another kind of dragon disciple, maybe one with cold breath.
Agreed. Blue Dragon Disciple would be a welcome addition. I don't think it would even need that much work; replace fire breath/resistances with a cold version. Same could be done with acid/lightning. No idea how accurate that is compared to the original kits but I'd be fine with them at least :P

I love this idea too! Humorously, however, IWD has a plethora of additional 'cold' spells for Mages, and a seemingly endless supply of creatures that are immune to cold damage scattered through the game. So while I would like this kit and find it cool, I feel like somebody at Overhaul would be giggling from behind their textbook on the other side of the classroom when we all take it
I'm eager to get some Ranger kits, as I am partial to having a Ranger in my party in IWD. Sorcerers will be a lot of fun too, I anticipate. I hope we get the Spell Triggers, too, so that Mages can start bitchslapping the Dales in style.

Dragon's Eye
Severed Hand
Lower Dorn's Deep
Not that they were very difficult, but it would've just made my pally that much more OP :P
I just want my useful Thief ... (Swashbuckler) ... Only one that really fits how I play :P
Now I no longer have to worry about how to RP one of these classes as a young girl who was raised by monks in a library fortress.

+ Tiefling and Drow
I really want to see how monks will behave in IWD
Dark Moon Monk - With the Frozen Fist everything will be literally frozen
Totemic Druid - the Spirit Animals should definitely see The Great Tree
Skald - how on Earth a party in IWD can go without a bunch of good ol' songs
Wild Mage - a cow from the sky right in the centre of Kuldahar? Yes, please
Swashbuckler - After ravaging the Sword coast, a pirate would be cool in IWD, just cool
... and here's my party for the 1st run:)
