Very Sad. Gotta love the community Star Trek and its spin-offs have built. Jonathan Frakes (Commander William T. Riker from Star Trek: The Next Generation) was a real class act with his tweet: "RIP to the Best First Officer."
It’s strange how deeply one can feel the loss of someone who you only knew through their work.
While it's sad to see him go, I can't mourn for him too deeply considering the life he led. 83 and doing what he loved until close to the end is a pretty good way to end up. Most of us should be so fortunate.
I cried. I haven't cried for the death of a celebrity in a long time, not even for Robin Williams. But I cried today for Leonard Nimoy.
As @Belanos said though, his life was long and prosperous, and he touched so many hearts. He will be missed, but even after the world is done mourning his loss, he will continue to be loved.
I was fortunate enough to have met the man in person. His heart and personality were so genuine and true, i felt i was talking to a good man rather than an iconic figure from one of my favorite tv shows of all time. He wasn't even offended that after our talk i completely forgot to ask him to autograph his 2 books("I am not Spock" and "I am Spock". When I returned, blushing furiously as that was my only intent at the time and didn't expect such a long and genuine conversation with this man he laughed and patted me on the shoulder and gladly autographed my 2 books. What class and dignity in this man, You will be missed Leonard.
Basically people have been drawing on Canada's $5 bills to make them look like Spock (as a tribute). So our central bank asked people to stop doing this.

Another reason why Canada is the best country in the world.
I expect that Big Bang Theory will dedicate an episode to him to honor him.
If you know "Big Bang Theory" imagine how crushed Sheldon will be.
Sheldon Cooper: I possess the DNA of Leonard Nimoy?! Penny: Well... yeah, yeah, I guess. But look, he signed it! Sheldon Cooper: (very excited) Do you realize what this means? All I need is a healthy ovum and I can grow my own Leonard Nimoy! Penny: Okay, all I'm giving you is the napkin, Sheldon.
I haven't really seen much of him in Star Trek, since pre-Picard Star Trek is horrible imo, but I quite liked Nimoy too. Guy had a fantastic voice. I can understand why people will miss him.
Apparently, people are honouring his memory in quite a creative way in Canada. Excuse the Norwegian article, but the top photo pretty much explains it.

Couldn't have said it better myself.
His work as Spock can only be called iconic.

"A life is like a garden. Perfect moments can be had, but not preserved, except in memory."
