@ShadowSmuggler - Thanks for your feedback. I will try to make a version that is less busy.

    That's awesome. :)

I suggest maybe darkening the lighter parts, not much though, just because the contrast looks a little jarring IMO. Other than that, it's perfect.

Improvement? Definitely! You should be involved in the BG2:EE UI development...

Do you think I should swap the belt and bracers? Might make a bit more sense...Bracers are on the wrist area hence being next to the ring might make more sense. Belt is on the middle of the body so the middle section might work better. Feedback?

Go for the swap. Having neck, waist, & feet lined up makes sense to me.

How about putting the braces next to the belt and moving the 2 rings to the lower part of the right side?

Might make sense, on the left side you have all your basic armor(armor, helmet, belt and braces) and in the right side you have the accessories(cape, rings, necklace and boots) + the shield.

@Rasekov - I'd like to keep a ring on each side and stay somewhat true to the original BG design. Plus I think it makes more sense for a left and right ring. Thanks for the feedback.

@Selaboc - I agree. I might just make that change. Thanks.

I agree with making the swap, seems more intuitive.

Now all the fun begins making the ACI Design Concept into reality. Which includes a lot of math, pixel counting and various small tedious adjustments. This is my least favorite part of the design process.

I might need a few people to help test the new inventory later tonight. Anyone interested?

    @Archaic
I'll help if I'm about, but I am in NZ and your tonight obviously wont be mine. Its 12.35pm here now.

    Also I have a suggestion.

Those two border fragments ruin the flow for me. If you could integrate the money and weight elsewhere or give them a border similar to the inventory boxes it would look so much better imo.

@cryocore - 1st: Taking those elements out will leave a large chunk of empty space that looks out of place.
2nd: I don't see any other place to put them that will fit in with the follow of the design.

For now its going to stay. I honestly really like that part of the design. If a few other people agree and really dislike it I may consider spending some time on this but for now I'm trying to move forward with the design and get it finished. Thanks for the feedback.

@Sylvus_Moonbow - It's not Imoen...only a design concept with various UI elements just to give an idea of what it will look like. Just happens to be what I had handy at the time. lol.

Much much better. yeah that looks good

I like the layout but as someone suggested above personally id like it more if you darkened those areas that are the lightest like around the stat area.. i bet that nice darker brick type texture would look cool. but ultimately its your call and its all great :)

@Kenze - I'll play around with the colors some more on the final version. Thanks for the feedback.

Just learned a huge time saving trick. You can change UI elements in a .chu file and simply reload the saved game without fully exiting the game to see the changes. Wow - I feel stupid! I've been completely exiting the game and reloading each time to see each little change. This is going to save sooooo much time especially when you have dual monitors and you can just jump from screen to screen to see the changes. Constantly learning something new everyday with BGEE modding.

I think I have to agree with the contrast being a bit too bright. the latest picture look fantastic! Also, seriously why aren't you working with the Devs?

I think you've nailed it. The intergration of the gold/weight borders with the header is perfect. The new header image offsets the actual menu. I personally dont like the font used for the gold coloured numbers (wieght and item count) but thats a fairly minor niggle.

    @Archaic
how would it look like with 2 weapon slots (for mages)?

I do like your inventory UI better than BGEE's but not quite completely satisfied with items' arrangement - it needs to be more intuitive.

    Perhaps something little more classical?

Perfect! Just that subtle contrast drop made all the difference! So excited for this new version!! :D

Edit: Though, it looks like you forgot to do the paperdoll background. unless I'm going nuts.

PS: I really appreciate the work you've done, it's just amazing.

Archaic, please do not abandon Concept 1, maybe you could add the new modifications to it .

@cryocore - I dont like the font for the gold stat either my friend. This is hardcoded into BGEE and there is nothing I can do about it. Glad you like the changes.

@Anton - I'm very happy with the arrangement. I've already done various arrangements and testing. I've found this arrangement offers the most flexibility.

@geminibruni - I'm probably only going to go with concept 2 and offer various art options on the top. I'm not going to offer 2 concepts and both with a ton of art options. That is simply way too much work.

@ShadowSmuggler - Thanks glad you like it. Paperdoll BG is there...I'm still playing around with the colors right now.

@Sylvus_Moonbow - It doesn't look like Fighter/Cleric/Thief would fit but I had that in mind upon development and it does actually fit very nicely. Thanks.

@Kazuga - Thank you. Going to take my time and get BETA 6 right. It will be the best release ever.

UPDATE: I fixed the current weapon and arrow selection to make it more obvious what is currently equipped. This is much like BG2 instead of BGEE which simply makes the whole item box darker.

    Example:
