I am curious why a "beta tester" would not pick up on this sort of thing though...
I think is due to the fact that they don't beta test the entire game for every patch. That's tedious for a volunteer. Tethoril wasn't touched iirc so testing him (or everyone elses dialog through out the entire game) seemed to be moot.
We have a winner!
I... won? I WON! I WON! Amazing, I am so excited! I have never won anything in my entire life! I can't wait to receive my winnings!
Is Neera's colors looking absolutely NOTHING like her portrait intentional? Like for real, it bothers my OCD bad enough I throw her into Shadowkeeper and fix things up. xD Her hair should be white!

It's funny to me that no one said anything at all about her colors being wrong before when she was dressed all in grey.
But her hair definitely does have some strawberry tones to it (I double-checked to make sure), although you're certainly welcome to change it if you like it a different color (that's what EE Keeper is there for, after all).

Clothing colors don't bother me too much, I can change those in a jiffy. Hair is not so easy.
If you want me to complain about clothing colors though, I can do that too!

Someone renamed a variable to fix a different bug. The fix was tested. The other 300 fixes that went in to 2014 were tested. There were probably a few critical path speed runs. No one tests every quest. This one was also unusual because the change was made very late in the release process, so it was missed by the bulk of the testing effort.
Should we have caught this one before it shipped? Yep. Lesson learned. We've put some things in place to better track testing of BG2EE, and we're looking more closely at the changes that do get made to BGEE. Are we perfect? Nope. But we're getting better.
I guess currently, there are no horrid bugs remaining on BG2 (with patch 2.52). Or at least bug that would break some parts of the game (I'm currently playing the GOG version).
I do hope that your "EE edition" will not transform it into a bugfest, as it was the case fore BG:EE.
I understand that there were a lot of things to change in order to make BG run with BG2 engine, but this won't be an excuse for the BG2:EE release. ;-)
BG is very light concerning the script section. If you start messing with BG2 scripts (and there's a lot), you'd better know what you are doing or else you won't see the end of patching broken scripts.
Let's all try to remember the site rules, folks. It's easy to forget that the developers are people too, especially when you're frustrated by something, but certain posts in this thread (and others like it) could stand for a little tempering.
Yeah, I really hope all this tablet-crap is worth the apparently immense amount of work that has gone into it. Seems that PC-gamers once again get the shitty end of the stick because of cross platform "harmony".
@DeathOfNames Let's not start tablet bashing. Whatever gave you the impression that the delay is platform related is wrong. Please be patient.
Well, explain to us why the new patch is not here, after four months of work, if it's not tablet related, then.
Because the only information we got lastly, besides you're working on the new renderer, is that the android version was coming. So maybe it's the new renderer who's delaying the patch ?
@Coriander I think most people have been patient. However it starts getting ridiculous with the "be patient", "soon", etc. The initial impression that the patch release was almost certain in May and everyone understands that there can be delays. The day before last of May, Trent writes and says it's delayed. Making excuses on how great it will be and that they will improve on communication, now it's almost been 3 weeks since and not a word about when we can expect anything. If the patch was this far behind then you should have known it LONG before Trent made that post and could have informed the community much earlier that things are not going along as expected and at the moment you had no idea when the patch is finished.
Telling people to be patient and how great the patch means about nothing without additional information. Give some proper information if you want to improve your "transparency" about what is happening.
Well @Coriander, I got the "impression" by following Trent Oster and Cameron Tofer on twitter. I don't mean to start bashing the tablets, but it just seems like there's a LOT more work involved than initially estimated, and a large part of that is due to the complexities of cross-platform code and stability.
Being a developer myself I sympathize, because I know the problems of creating the same experience across multiple platforms... especially on mobile/touch devices.
Also, since the last update, apart from the Italian language update, was released on 22.02.2013, I think I have been quite patient. Patient for nearly four months in fact.
I really don't think that an update to fix longstanding issues in a game that's been in "release" mode for seven months is too much to ask...

Never go into business, man. I mean for one thing you're just plain incorrect (they have released PC updates BEFORE tablet updates a couple times already), but for another, even if the tablet version *were* delaying the PC version somewhat, if you were in the company you would fully support it, still. Having a PC and tablet version makes the company loads more cash than just a PC version would, and they've made it VERY clear that they are tight on money. They really, truly, *need* it to continue existing as a developer.
What I'm saying is: 1. Consider being in the developers' shoes. 2. If you can't do that, then okay; but even still, there's no saying they'd even have enough money/resources to make a BGII:EE if they had not made the BG:EE tablet version.
I think the game is perfectly playable and enjoyable as of now. (And on Ipad, no less!) Sure, new content and kits would be awesome, as well as a render fix for the occasional slowdowns on Ipad, but I don't want to put pressure onto developers. The patch will come when ready, I certainly don't want the next patch to cause even more bugs due to being rushed.
@Mastakilla Have you read what it is written in the main page of the site? They cannot release the new patch until the legal issues with Atari are resolved.

No,
After increasing transparency policy,
No more "Soon"
Now is
"When it is ready"
