what did you complete your first game as?

I'm interested in seeing who you guys beat the games as and what party members you used.

I didn't play BG1 untill long after it came out but I beat it with a fighter can't remember my party compisition.
As for Baldurs Gate 2 I beat my first game as a monk with Jaheira, Minsc, Aerie, Imoen, and Haer' dalis.
How about you guys?

    Paladin! I think it was also with the canon group (Imoen, Jaheira, Khalid, Minsc and Dynaheir), though I'm not quite sure.

    I'm pretty sure I had the same party. The game just sems to want you to use that group since it covers all your bases of basic party needs.

    Baldur's Gate: A half-elf fighter/magess! Game was completed with Imoen, canon-dualed; Shar-Teel; Viconia; Alora.
    ...Kivan and Yeslick died in Durlag's Tower, Safana got chunked by Aec'Letec, and I let Jaheira, Khalid, Minsc, and Dynaheir go.
    Baldur's Gate II - Shadows of Amn: Half-elf fighter/magess! Imoen; Nalia; Keto; Jan Jansen or Jaheira (I swear it was Jan...); Minsc or Jaheira (hazy~). I, uhh, actually permanently lost Keto on one of the most perfect fights with Irenicus, ever, but I reloaded because damn it, Keto is important to me.

    BG II: Paladin (he actually was a fallen too O.o)
    I don't think I've ever actually made it through ToB >.> (I do prefer lower level for sure).

    I played a Necromancer first, and played him all the way through to the end of ToB... (Hey your roleplaying a Button Eyed Mummy Necromancer now! What a coincidence!)

    He actually finished BG twice... Didn't really think hard about the consequences of all those tomes back then... (...it was my first play through...) ...So maybe he was a little OP... On the other hand, I'm pretty sure I wanted everyone to like me, that Dex, Str and Con was not worthwhile for a mage to take so.... Maybe OP but in all the wrong stats!

    BG1: A neutral evil Half-Elven fighter/thief with Jaheira, Kagain, Branwen, Edwin and Gerrick.

    BG2: A l/awful good Kensai(9)/Mage with Keldorn, Sir Anomen, Imoen, Valygar and Cernd.

    BG1: First ever as cleric; not sure about the party, but I think Edwin, Kagain and Shar-Teel were there.
    BG2: Assassin; definitely had Edwin and Korgan, but not sure about the rest, I switched a lot, trying to get an all evil party together. I likely had Viconia, Yoshimo and Haer'Dalis.

    Bg1: First time EVER I was a pure fighter that used Large swords and shield. As for the party I only remember I had Khalid kicking ass with his longbow!

    Bg2: First time EVER was a Berserker, Cavalier and Archer. My brother was backing me up in that game with his Sorc, Swashbuckler and Cleric.

    Boy has my class picks changed :p

    BG1 : first time ever 14 years ago or so... CHARNAME Mage+Khalid+Jaheira+Imoen+Minsc+Viconia (Dynaheir found her early death)
    BG2 : first time : Monk + Minsc + Viconia + Valygar + Aerie + Yoshimo->Imoen (I regrettably killed Edwin)


    since then, I prefer evil parties and Thieves/Warriors or the Monk

    My first Charname was a half-elven Fighter/Mage, she was Chaotic Good (lolwut).

    My BG2 Party was: Edwin, Viconia, Haer'Dalis, Yoshimo/Imoen, and... Mazzy. Later replaced by Sarevok.

    I have no idea who my BG1 party was, though. I know it involved Viconia and Edwin. I think Kivan was on it too.

    Kivan is a good call. I think I had him too, and never noticed he is good aligned. He sounded so grumpy.

    I never completed the original BG. I completed BGEE the very first time as an Avenger Druidess.

    hummm ... I was a fighter, human if i'm right... Then Khalid/Jaheira/Dynaheir/Coran and Branwen.

    In BG2 I was dual-class Fighter/mage elf, Minsc, Imoen, Jaheira, Anomen... and I dont remember the last one, it was Yoshimo at the begining but you know...

    A paladin with 18/00 strength but who had bad stats otherwise. But 18/00 strength!
    And imported him to BG2. Aerie was in the party, thats all that I can remember.

    Half-elf Fighter/Mage named.... Lemernis. I posted a question about something at the Planet Baldur's Gate forums during my first full run-through of BG and have used that nickname ever since.

    I created a custom MP party for that game because I had read in a review that one could do that, and it sounded like fun. I used custom portraits and voice sets. To be honest, because there's not much NPC banter in BG1 I didn't miss out on all that much. Although the NPCs are great, naturally.

    First finished Tutu with a half-elven Blade named Kheltick. Alas I didn't keep the saves, but I can remember Imoen, Xan and Ajantis being in the party. I probably had Finch as my cleric and probably Coran or Kivan as an archer, I can't remember whom.

    Kheltick was beaten by my half-elven (again) ranger-cleric Faihra in beating Shadows of Amn. She was accompanied by mod-npc's Amber and Xan and as for canon npc's, I'd have to check my desktop PC, which is off right now. Maybe I'll edit this post later.

    Paladin. I don't remember the team I finished with, but I remember going through a lot of them because I didn't know you could resurrect them at temples. I finished with 4 people, hehe. ^^

    Paladin. Although I added a cleric of my creation the party about the time I entered Durlag's Tower (I wasn't really nuts about any of the NPC choices).
    The rest of my party was Imoen (dualed to mage), Minsc, Kivan and Coran. We really went through a lot of arrows!

    Not certain about BG1 - might have been a Ranger 3>Cleric - that was one of my first characters I recall and I completed BG1 the first time prior to ToTSC being released - not sure about the team - Imoen for sure - probably dualed to mage - maybe Jahiera maybe Branwen>Yeslick probably Kivan ...

    My first BG2 to finish was a Half-elf ranger/cleric that I played all the way through both but not until I had played BG2 for about a year and a half with perhaps dozens of characters in partial playthroughs. Not sure about the team Jahiera was there but not sure who else - Jan most likely - maybe Mazzy, Imoen for sure.

    Half fighter with the canon party.

    BG2 ... I think a NG bard named Lekalano. I rolled 96 points making him in BG -- and used 0 tomes.

    EE: half-elf fighter thief.

    Paladin... Like everyone else, apparently.

    Party was single-class Imoen, Minsc, Dynaheir, Yeslick and Kivan.

    As mentioned above my first full playthrough was with a F/M. But my very first go was with a human mage who promptly got killed by a diseased gibberling.

    Right then. Next try was a human Fighter meleer who got turned into a pin cushion in the Lion's Way map by bandit archers. I realized then how powerful ranged weapons were in BG.

    I figured that I would next try a character who could use a bow. But I really want to spellcast as well. So I went with a Fighter/Mage with profs in Longbow and Longsword.

    It also didn't hurt survivability-wise that I started with a custom party of six to join the main!
