I surely do hope so. The original is full of a feeling of suspense as well. I've always been wandering if the North-Vietnamese propaganda voice they added to it is original as well, or just a re-recording of a old propaganda lines.
The Sun Rises, Okami. It's difficult to describe how I first felt when I first heard this song. After regaining her most powerful form from a totally hopeless situation while this starts up totally pumped me up in a way that no video game had ever done before. I do, however, remember shouting "Let's finish this!"
I haven't played Secret of Mana... But I have played it's sequel, Seiken Densetsu 3... Though it has no official english translation, people have translated roms of it for emulators...
But I cannot forget Thief, while it isn´t even music, but an ambient compilation. The music in Thief is an art, something so great and original. But I guess one must listen to it longer and to more tracks to truly absorb it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D7ig7OcYZkg
I have not listened to the musics from One Must Fall Battlegrounds really before, last time I tried that game it didn't even play the musics... That game was somewhat of a mess...
But someone decided to upload them to youtube, there are some good ones there.
Honestly, I am tempted to put the entire playlist of music from that game on here because it is all so darn good. But this is by far the most... memorable... music from the game.
That music only appears in one room in the whole game in which you spend 10 seconds tops. It is also some of the best music in the game which goes to show how much effort they put into the music.
Too bad I can't seem to find much in the original 8-bit that was actually in the game.

I wonder if the surviving members of Jefferson Airplane get a piece of that Battlefield money? :-)
Anything for Trish, Infamous. Although it isn't very prominent in Infamous I think both games music is completely unique and mind-blowingly awesome
Heart of Fire (Theme of Julius Belmont), Castlevania. I'm still waiting for a game that features Julius and the final battle with Dracula, Konami.
V.S. Pkmn Trainer Red, Pokemon G/S/C. ... ... ... ... -Red. Truly some of the most intense lines in video game history.

Elizabeth, Bioshock infinite.
Live and Learn, Sonic Adventure 2. I am not embarrassed to say that this was the shit back when I was a kid
Well I think I've successfully created an imposing wall of text.

Also, ever since I first played 'Secret of Mana', this tune has always been in my head:
This one may be the best of them:
But I love plenty of other games music.
For example Heretic/Hexen, my all time favourite shooters:

And of course old Blizzard games.
