By the way, I have to say that Trent's tweet "Yay, I think" and "Unfortunately it'll be awhile before we can say anything." leave a really bitter taste in my mouth. Is this going to happen again? When/if BG2 comes out I wont be able to ignore my reservations about buying it. The lack of transparency is a terrible thing to do to your paying customers.
Always with the negative waves Moriarty, ALWAYS with the negative waves!
There you go, more negative waves! Have a little faith, baby! Have a little faith...
The Lord of Silence shall perish. But in his doom he shall spawn a score of mortal patches. Joy will be sown from their passage. So sayeth the wise Alaundo.

Dude... it's a complicated legal dispute, there would be all sorts of legal restrictions on what the parties involved can and cannot say. I'm not a lawyer but that much is common sense. It's to prevent every court-case becoming coloured by a media war between the rival sides, claims and counter-claims made publicly.
I don't know enough of the case to understand the technicalities of who is in the right and who is in the wrong, if it indeed even is a right or wrong situation. But clearly Beamdog are behaving in the only way they can with regards to disclosing information - professionally discrete.
I can't know if he has a choice or not if all he says is "Yay, I think." The unending speculation on "the issue" in this forum is evidence to me that there's a communication problem. I don't mean to blame anyone, it's just very frustrating to be in the dark.

(Wild) speculation is what happens on forums when no or limited information is out. It happened about the abilities of Dorn Il-Khan during the pre-release period, and it obviously happens regarding something like this.
Fantastic News, for everyone involved and the Community! Just to re-iterate one question though; What does this mean for BG2EE development? Is it back on or is that still to be decided?
Not to put pressure on the devs or anything, but my wedding is on Sept. 21st and since I'm just now starting out on my own, my bachelor party is going to be small. That being said, I was hoping this issue would be over in time so that my poor/nerdy/sad bachelor party would be my friends and I play BG:EE via LAN and beating it in one night.
Here's to hoping and congratulations guys. You earned it. Now go make my bachelor party a reality. :P
Patch development is back on! We'll have an announcement regarding that in the near future. I personally am very excited for people to use the new UI.
Was wondering there any chance dual class could be improved, as it seem to be now you cannot pick a class kit for your dual class later if you choose to wait, I can't recall any of the old AD&D rules stating you can't pick a kit later on if you don't wish pick on with the first class, if I remember right you could pick kits later dual classing in BG2 also.

Not really. In BG1 you could dual into a specialist mage (which is treated like a mage kit in BG2). That was removed in BG2 and in BG2 you can't dual class into a kit.

I'm thrilled and sense that we're highly lacking in appropriate fireworks and fanfare. I also think that the forums will be full of people asking for more details, despite the rather explicit quote from the same (@PhillipDaigle) that says they can't talk about it yet.
Anyway, SUPER excited for the Intel chipset fix, among other things. Butts shall be kicked in liberal measure...!

Funny, I was just thinking about starting up again, now maybe I really will wait for the Android version so I can play on my N7
