@ShapiroKeatsDarkMage I've also been told that there was a new BG inspired Isometric RPG. In any case, I do hope everyone returns soon.
That would be Pathfinder. It follows the BG tradition of Real time with pause, and is based on a variation of 3.5 D&D rules.
Pathfinder is actually pretty good. It was the 3.75 Edition of D&D for people who was let down by 4th Edition. Also It has plenty of Lovecraft monsters.
@ThacoBell I'm now aware that the new game has Pathfinder in the title, but when someone intially mentioned Pathfinder I thought they meant the Tabletop RPG and not a video game.
They look creepy to me, like they came from an anime like Inuyasha.
There was an episode where a...monk? was shrinking people, then dissolving them in a jug to turn into liquid fertilizer so their soul would "water" an evil tree and turn into a fruit with a face. If I'm remembering right. Actually, looking it up, it was a 2-episode thing, but yeah.
@semiticgod It wasn't unfixable. You just had to save and reload...sometimes multiple times. And occasionally you had to reboot your computer. But it would decide to work in the end.
Patience. Classic BG players had it.
And then when I first played BG1 I discovered that unlike BG2, you didn't even get a notification when that bug happened.

I really don't remember that bug.
But where was that patience with the "You must gather your party before venturing forth" audio clip? Who did NOT wind up replacing that audio file with sweet, sweet silence?

They're Member Berries from South Park. Look it up.

They are from South Park Season 20 and they are apparently far more sinister than they appear.
New players will never know just how bad the original game bugs could be. Imagine an unfixable, game-breaking bug that can appear anywhere.

Speak for yourself, I love "You Must Gather Your Party" and was dissapointed when the spam was silenced.
@ShapiroKeatsDarkMage
True, but let's not let the thread get political. I just saw an opportunity to make a reference, and I wanted to member.
Member getting reminded to eat while playing? I memba.
My first love interest was Jaheria, but I memba Aerie.
Memba turning into the Slayer? OOh I memba!
Member the Sewage Golem?
Dear God, I think I found the evolution of thread derailment.
Because it was Jaheira.
