@Anduin could you provide us an approximate time for you to rule? We would like to tie our agenda for the future. What type of reign are you planning? A kingdom? Or an empire? we have an empty slot from 4200 to 4350 or 4750 if you plan something more long termed. We are glad you've chosen us to tie your future! Sincerely, Crevs Daak, first operative in commend of FuturePlanner.com S.A.
Just let FuturePlanner.com S.A. plan the future for you!
There's a Faerunian play 'The Queen's Speech', which is all about Aerie learning public speaking from Haer'Dalis. Written by Haer'Dalis, directed by Haer'Dalis, and starring Haer'Dalis. Despite that, it won awards.
Imoen would be the worst ruler though. 'Let them eat cupcakes!' she says jokingly... turns out to be very poorly judge amidst all the hunger and poverty.
Nalia would be a decent option to choose due to her naivety, but like poor Jimmy she certainly has her heart in the right place, which is more than I can say for many others (though they may be more competent).
I don't think anyone at the time felt Carter had misperceived the national mood. But almost immediately the consensus was that to express it as he did wasn't a helpful morale booster (which is what he was actually trying to do). Poor Jimmy.
Tiax - Meant to rule all, automaticly passes. Sarevok - As Irenicus put it in The Longer Road; 'An adept herder of kobolds and proficient at sabotaging small mining operations'. Still, he planned a majorly long gambit almost succesfully, if he put that energy to ruling, he'd be v. good at it. He WAS almost elected Grand Duke, fairly democraticly. Pass. Xzar - Painful. He'd be the Mad King, burning people alive for laughs, tearing out eyeballs to get the elves' infravision, leaving ruling to his mooks. No pass. Korgan - Will slam his axe in the table (or skull) of anyone who disagrees. Festivities would be held frequently. Law and order break down, but the populace can do what they want, as long as they don't piss off their lord. Pass. Kagain - The land'd face a crippling economic crisis as all gold goes to their lord's coffers. Still, he's a businessman and knows the fine line between a grumbling populace and a rebelling one. Pass. Jan Jansen - Other lands wound be too confused at the negotiation table to declare war. Plus, his great uncle Winglet was the emperor of Lantan for a whole two hours some years back, so experience is in the family. Pass. Jon Irenicus - Would spend all his time in his lab/library, either fretting in rage or working on some experiment. Having him for a ruler is akin to having no ruler. No pass. Vhailor - Tyranny through pure law. It won't be nice living under his rule, but at least you won't get mugged in the streets. You might get beheaded for jaywalking though. Pass.
So only Xzar and Irenicus didn't pass. Voted for Irenicus because at least Xzar would *rule*, whereas I really don't see Irenicus ruling over anything, unless he can be a God. He simply doesn't care about anything but himself, not even constitutional power. Divine right and divine retribution, or nothing.
Joneleth Irenicus, because he's dumb and stupid and smells funny. No, seriously, boyfriend is so crazy he might as well just glue his familiars and silverware to the ceiling to make sure nobody steals them.
I voted for Vhailor, because having a ruler which could effectively be persuaded to crumble into assorted pieces of armor and weaponry seems to be a worse choice than any of the others... one question, that arises from the options is this: how they came to be in a place of power as a ruler? And to add to the question, whom would they rule?

Edit: we weren't talking about Jimi Hendrix right?

Regardless of who wins, I think that Lord Binky the Buffoon should host the Forgotten Realms equivalent of the Daily Show
