Probably an elven wild-mage again, we had great times in multiplayer with me as wild-mage. Or I might play something else and pick up Neera. Bit of an related question, why can't elves be paladins?
Think I might try a Monk. I've heard people say they don't expect a Monk to be very effective in BG1, but it was the first class I beat BG2 with and the idea of the Monk is one I very much like in D&D. I really want to see how it will play like.
That or a Paladin. I don't give the Paladin's much playthrough, always favouring some other type of fighter over them.
I remember my first character, a mage with an intelligence of 12. That was back when I didn't understand how the rules worked. I didn't know I could reroll either. How did I miss that? Anyway, it's time to actually finish the game with that mage.
I going to be a male halforc swashbuckler (chaotic good), use 2 x daggers. I will dual classe Imoen to a mage early on (first time I dual classe her). I will take Kivan with me, just after the beginning (have never had him in a party before). I will 3man it some time, and make the 3 new companions quests 1 by 1. Only Neera will be a full member after done with her quest. Dont know yet who will be the last 2 companions, it cound be: Ajantis or Coran or Garrick to fill 1 spot and: Branwen or Viconia or Alora or (Faldorn/if they make a better looking picture) to fill the last spot.
I have always play as male and had 2 males & 3 females as companions.
Think I'll be going sorcerer for my first char. I'm curious to see if it is possible to run that class effectively from level 1, without ending up with a completely irrelevant spell selection by the end of ToB.
Since I have to take Neera I might not make my usual Sorcerer. Since I have to bring Imoen I won't make a thief. With Rasaad and Dorn my fighter needs are fulfilled. The only position not filled is cleric, but I hate playing clerics, which takes me back to sorcerer. So I'm probably going to take one of the games clerics with me, and play a sorcerer.
1. NG half elf female bard. 2. CG human female sorcerer. Then I'd be just fooling around with different classes and party combinations. I might even do an evil party since all the love on here for Tiax, Edwin, and Viconia is making me evil-curious. Tiax, Edwin, Viconia, Dorn, either a thief or fighter as my main, and someone else...but not sure who.
Three choices are at the front and I haven't been able to make up my mind which one to pick first: (1) True Neutral / Blade; (2) Neutral Evil / Sorceress; (3) Lawful Good / Undead Hunter; It depends on how the new NPCs will interact with CHARNAME.
If the conflict between Dorn and a Paladin CHARNAME would actually come to blows rather than just heavy words or if the good NPC (mage/monk) wouldn't get along with the sorceress then I might pick the Blade just to see as much of the new content as possible in the first run.
Been thinking about it..... Im toying with the idea of a Monk or pure thief..maybe dualing the thief later... And I may Solo a mage at the same time and switch out.....
Lawful Evil Female Human Necromancer with a high charisma score. She secretly worships Asmodeus (Gorion, Tethtoril, Imoen, and the rest of the do-gooders at Candlekeep would flip out if they found out!) and pursues a disciplined, merciless path toward her mastery of the dark arts.
Depends, if one kit is allowed in multiclass, and if blackguard can multiclass then a blackguard/cleric or something. If blackguard can't multiclass but a kit is allowed, then berserker/cleric.
If both can't happen, i'll just make a fighter/cleric or cleric/ranger(cheese much?) with an undead hunting obsession (although he will be obsessed with collecting parts of them, not killing them :P).
Probably half-elf for the multiclass cheese, but might go for dwarf, dunno.

FUN

I'll be wanting to make a cleric to take through to BG2 - then duel over to mage once I hit level 14ish.

Chaotic Evil Half Elf Blade Bard here. Now deciding on solo vs evil party, not sure (no melodic chain to rely on)
