Re-tested it, now the only categories that show up are "Long Sword", "Short Sword", "Spear/Halberd", "Mace", "Flail", "Axes", "Scimitar/Katana",... i.e. no collapsed categories, while I have it (re)installed.
@GawainBS Honestly, depends on your mod install. IF (big if), Scales of balance is your last installed mod, then you might be able to uninstall the old version and then install the new version. Otherwise, a clean install is generally the best.
I just downloaded modmerge from the link in my last post and installed Tome and Blood to test it out...no installation errors (other than the Xan: Bladesinger component, which is a current TnB issue) and the text issue during creation creation is not present. Seems like modmerge fixes the Steam/GOG Siege of Dragonspear issue.
Now I'm going to test out Scales of Balance and my usual mods (Might and Guile, Tome and Blood, my Awesome Soundset soundset pack) to see if everything works out fine. I'll post back with the results.
EDIT: The Modmerge extraction process seems to allow all my mods to install except for the soundsets, where I get errors. Looks like the Awesome Soundset mod has issues with the Beamdog version of Siege of Dragonspear. The Modmerge program, however, works as intended and all my other mods install fine after running it.
I assume you will post an update here too when your mods as compatible with Steam & GoG? (They are pretty much the only ones I care about, and BG2 Tweaks.)
I'm not blaming mods, I know that it has to do with how Steam & GoG distribute DLC. I've got the GoG version, btw. I've got more faith in the modding community finding a solution than I do in the developers/distributors.
my stat is 19-18-18-17-7-9, all proficient is 1 (dual wield and short sword), lv 1, just create a new half-orc barbarian. Description is: - base thac0: 20 - strength bonus: -2 - bonus: -4 - main hand thac0-short sword: +4 - off-hand thac0-short sword: -2 Plus: i check description of dual-wield: the 4* and 3* are swap each other. I install 5.1.5 SoB (after installed M&G)
@subtledoctor I would like to start a new playthrough from BG:EE +SOD to BG2:EE TOB.(2.0) I want to use Tome & Blood, SoB, Might and Guile, NPC_EE and Faiths and Powers (If I get the beta and you recommend it at its current state) or Divine Remix. Do you think I should wait or does everything work together well with 2.0?
And if I understand correctly install order should be something like this:
1. Tome & Blood 2. Might and Guile 3. Faiths and Powers or Divine Remix 4. NPC_EE 5. SoB
@subtledoctor, I think @Khamac is right about the Scales of Balance and the Shaman bug. I made a comment about this about a week ago (https://forums.beamdog.com/discussion/comment/731941/#Comment_731941), but basically, BGEE crashes when trying to create a Shaman. At the time, the only mod I had installed was Scales of Balance. After uninstalling Scales of Balance, I was able to create a Shaman character.
I'll check it out when I can. Meantime, it would be helpful if you guys could tell me exactly when it crashes. Like, when pressing the Abilities button, or the Skills button, or the Appearance button, etc.
No worries; I know you have a full plate, mod-wise. Take whatever time you need to fix any bugs.
In my first post about the issue, I described that the game crashes as soon as you hit the "Skills" button to choose your Shaman skills. At least that was my case.
Also, I don't know if this is as important but I used the Steam version of BGEE and Siege of Dragonspear, and this was before I found out about the Modmerge program. So this was before I extracted the SoD content out of the zip.

But nevermind, it was my oversight.

Would that be correct?
Thanks and Regards.
