What do you do in your life?

I'm a bit curious what people here do in there real life beside play BG of course so I try to give the most options that I could think of, so click away what fit you best and please comment and say what of the choices you are doing, if you are working then why you choose that in particular, if you are a student in uni what your main course, and in school what your favorite topic (if there is one)

I'm a Nurse or at last I'm gonna be one very soon I finished all my studying all what I got left is that big exam to get my license to start working work wish me luck everyone I'll probably need it, with the amount of stuff one need to remember it make one dizzy.

I am a small business owner. When it's slow, I can play BG. So, when I don't have time to play, it's generally a good sign. Alas, I have been hanging around here and playing BG too much lately.

I'm surprised this isn't a private poll, I bet a lot of people won't want to expose what they do to the forum. I'm pretty up front about being in high school so it's not a big deal for me.

I'm an university student, and I expect to be one for at least about 2 years. After that, I have some ideas for my life, but these would require a lot of work and obdain various hard and soft skills. My foolish dream is to be a freelance digital artist and to workin in coaching. Both of theese require immense ammount of skills and effort, especially the latter (but then again, if I will be able to overcome my own problems and issues, I think I could be a good coach).

I could just as easily have put down "Other" for retail sales: I work at a women's clothing outlet (no, really, I am the only man working there). However, what I consider myself? What I *want* to do? A writer, a game designer, a poet. I'm taking little steps to get closer to that goal, and mostly I'm trying to get my life together to the point I can consider really pursuing those goals. For now I save money, I write a bit, I continue gaming, and I try to deal with being an adult and all that that entails.

i work in public transport right now...previously i worked in education, before that i fancied myself as a writer. Best of luck kaguana, of course when we're sick you know we're all calling on you, right? ;-)

My undergraduate degree was in English (commonly seen as one of the "useless" degrees in the US), and I ended up moving to Asia to teach English. I've been in international education since then in multiple roles: teacher, department head, director, marketing director, communications manager and vice head of school. On the side I write (professional writing--not fiction), consult and take on marketing/branding projects.

It's a great living, and I get to live to one of the best cities in the world...

That's something you can definitely look at as a positive. Quite often the best speakers and coaches I've known have overcome a great deal of adversity. In contrast, those who simply pursued that avenue for the sake of money or an "easy" career were among the worst I've encountered.

Don't think of it as just a dream. Work your @$$ off and make it happen.

I'm gonna start my second year of college in a week and like in the start of the first year , have no hope for it. I'm in a course which is a mix of Languages with Management and it's not as if I like any of those areas, it was just what was put on my lap due to not knowing what I want in life. I wanted to become a VA for some years now but as I grow up, I've been realizing that's just an excuse to live in a videogame. Regarding what I'd like to do in life... I dunno, when I picture the future all I see is pitch black and a bad life, whatever I may end up doing. Sorry about venting and going off topic, just been feeling like crap for a few days now.

@meagloth‌ You're younger than I thought, haha. But let me tell you something I wish I could've told myself in the 10th grade: Don't let those years fly by you. Seize them, no matter what you want to do, make sure that in the future you will remember them fondly and with no regrets... because those golden years... they don't come back...

Honestly I didn't thought that it a so much of a secret what one do in life, because it what one do in real life you can't really hide it, people that you don't know see you at school, going to work, see you working as part of the team at work and so on, so I didn't thought it will be a big issue to ask people what they do.
and btw listen to @InvictusCobra‌ he did said a very wise thing. Seize those years!

@InvyouictusCobra‌ it ok to not know what you wanna do in life it isn't easy with all the option one have it very easy to get lots in them, I know it isn't easy and we all have our down fall but the important thing is that you will look up and look for what you wanna do and hopefully you will find it and change your course of studying for what you like.

@LordRumfish good luck on being a writer it isn't an easy thing and I say go for it go for what you love it the best thing in the world to work in what you love to do what you love

Let's see, in chronological order: Bookseller (UK), holiday tour operator (UK), brewer (UK), brewer (South Africa), freelance wildlife photographer (South Africa), freelance industrial plant designer (South Africa), freelance business consultant (Sierra Leone), research scientist (South Africa), brewer again (South Africa), burnout, shepherd (New Zealand), currently back in the UK and retired at the age of 55.

I can symphatize with you regarding that. Months ago, I too saw only pitch-black darkness before me, no bright future, no perspective, nothing. And I can tell you that all you need is to find something you really want to do in life. A goal. I don't know if it will help you, but I found mine just by accident. I was studying for one of my exams, and at that time I read about therapy in humanistic psychology. It turned out to be more like advisery service. That's when I saw my light and decide either be and psychological advisor or coach. It's because it's something I could do in future, it would help me escape typical slave fate in my country, and not only that - it would enable me to help people escape this fate as well. Basically, not only I would do what I want to do, but I could also slightly change morale in my excuse of a country. Even if a little, it's the least I can do.

I believe you will find something like that too, someday. But first you have to believe that you can find something like that.

I have been a student off and on at university for the past nine years. I keep switching my major but am currently in political science. I will hopefully finish it in a year and a half after I return to the states from Japan.

In reality I would love to make a living off of fiction writing. I am currently stuck in the editing phase of a book I hope to get published. It will most likely be self published on Amazon since "real" publishers are a pain.

It is actually a thing , coming to a mention so I will. There are lots of jobs , and let me be frank here , not even one job is like the other. Categorizations are for the bosses , I mean , for crowd control. You are not meant to find us some jobs aye ? I can 'technician' well too

P.S. Just enough fear for this site to morph into a multi class fb and linkedin.
