To ask for help regarding the saga itself. The people who contributed to the thread know how much I hated these games when I came here. 234 comments later, I completed the saga twice and dunno when I will do the third (have a few playthroughs suspended due to boredom with the games.)
Here's the thread for those interested (long read ahead though) :
Every time I had a question about the EEs, Google always led me here. So after about the fifth or sixth visit, I figured, "May as well join the darn site!"
Turns out, this place is pretty awesome. Never looked back.
I don't even need to explain myself. Someone else did it for me.
Originally I was looking to refresh my BG memories after a long lay-off and came here out of nostalgia for a long-dead forum from the days of "To continue, insert disc 3 into your hard drive". In those days BG had just come out and we were all wandering around in amazed confusion, writing our own stumblethroughs and helping each other to unravel this intriguing new world.
Finding this forum has re-kindled my enthusiasm for not just for the game but for interacting with other like-minded people (I especially enjoy the off-topic threads).
On a side note, the little house where my internet pixies live took a critical hit from a lightening bolt the other day. The Priest of Telecom has only just resurrected the aforementioned pixies and, after checking my e-mails this is the first site I visited (memo to self: Get a life).
I've loved the BG games for a very long time. I'm not really sure how I was directed to baldursgate.com and the discovery of the countdown timer, but I do remember that I had to explain why I wanted to join the forum when signing up because it wasn't open to everyone yet.
This community is great, it's the first gaming forum I've really been a part of. I've since joined a couple of others, but the positivity on this forum is undeniably higher than on the others I frequent. People here tend to encourage others rather than shouting them down and help others rather than insulting them. I've had a great time contributing answers about the games, memes, and being involved in all sorts of off-topic discussions.
I came here for other reasons, of course at first I was only looking for info, mainly on how to create mods that if people showed interest in I would release, then I found this community to be quite rich, so I stayed.

Conan: Crush your enemies. See them driven before you. Hear the lamentations of their women.
