A relatively-new forumite @SirBaldur is making a Black Pits no-reload run with a party of 6 thieves. Many screenshots, details and, most importantly, Kill Bill portraits!
I've tagged Blackraven here partially for him not to miss this thread - now even if you pop up here only for few minutes, everything will be by your hand
A big thanks to all of you, who try to colour our black-and-white days by your stories.
We're just allowed to share our threads? I guess I'll link you all to our multiplayer RP game we have going on. Our group has been writing journals (or at least one of us has) of our adventures all the way from the beginning of BG1 to my character (the bhaalspawn) now having over 600k experience in BG2. I recommend reading Andre's journals as they are complete and he is a far better writer than me (I am going to try and start again and do better). It has been a fun ride so far getting me into my first multiplayer RP experience and found BG can be quite fun that way. Almost a year has passed and we are still going, and by next year I can see the party arriving at the throne and getting a conclusion to their epic adventure. http://forum.baldursgate.com/discussion/comment/559703#Comment_559703
Wow, thank you @blackraven for the promotion there, high praise indeed from a writer of your talents, thank you!
For everyone who enjoys reading, I second Bengoshi in urging you to check out both Blackraven and Nonnahswriter's threads, both superbly written and magnificently addicting. Deltago's thread is also exceedingly good, as mentioned by Blackraven.
I'd also like to encourage reading Heindrich's tales of Sima Jin and Typo Tilly's adorable Tilly Wigglebottom threads in the Challenges and Playthroughs sections. And for something completely different, check out Stratosj's Neet the Barbarian . I'm still laughing at the "evening we eat bear and sing" line.
Some of you have probably read it, but if you haven't it's definitely worth a read. The use of cards and dice to help decide some elements of the tale is unique.
That story was the reason I abandoned my lurking ways and actually started commenting on the forums. So, you all have @Lemernis to blame for that.
Time to up this thread again, and what better topic to do it with than Veraka's Saga by our forums' own Shakespeare, @LordRumfish? His saga an undeservedly obscure, epic poem in progress, imo an absolutely amazing piece of work unlike anything else I've come across on the forums.
Shakespeare? I don't want to be compared to that no-account hack! ^_~
All in jest of course, seeing as how I allude to him and all (along with half of western literature). Still, I thank you, it is difficult for me to accept such high praise with a straight face but I will endeavor to try. I'm glad at least a few people like it.
Also: thanks for clueing me in on this thread's existence. I'm not sure if I have much to add, all of my forum references would probably be outdated and this thread does say "new" in the title. I'll natter along with the newness for now, my nubile newbies and inured nonagenarians.

I've just discovered this gem by @Nonnahswriter : http://forum.baldursgate.com/discussion/14583/novelization-of-the-bg-opening-possible-fanfiction Don't miss it.
You now have a chance to compare that work by our bard with @Blackraven 's http://forum.baldursgate.com/discussion/35560/an-attempted-novelization-of-a-bg1-playthrough#latest . You all possibly have already read my friend's tale, so don't forget to look into Nonnahswriter's text as well.

My contribution for now is a link to @rufus_hobart's wonderful Chapter 1 of his novelization of the game, with Laisha the Wild Mage and her snarky cat Hanu:

@Tetraploid , @Vorsches and sometimes other participants post their chapters there. The fact there're more than one storyteller makes things fresh.
