Road Trip
So it has come to this. My fiancé and I are headed on a ~2,000+ mile road trip. Our destination is The Sanctuary, our new home in Brooklyn, NY (US). I will use this thread to keep anybody who's interested up-to-date as we go.
Sid is doing all of the driving, while I navigate, do the heavy lifting, run our mobile office, and man the camera recording her documentary, Sid's Epic Road Trip and Move. We'll both prepare food and take care of Monty, our familiar.
Rather than mirror her writing here, I'll just give my take on everything along the way home.
Finally, we are not driving straight to New York. This trip has been going on for 3 months, and I have simply joined her for the final leg.
Our next stop is Austin, Texas!
And yeah, we're both level 4 Bards.

Space is low, but morale remains high.
We should make it to Austin late tomorrow or the next day. Onward!
Still unable to upload photos from my phone. So much for that iOS 8 hotfix
(but seriously best wishes!)
ignoring me is usually the best policy i find. *nods lots*
We stayed in a pretty rough area, but I nevertheless took our familiar on several long and winding jaunts through the surrounding area, and we both enjoyed them thoroughly.
It was good to see Jenn has taken up painting again.
We finished off with a trip to the midnight arcade. After two nights of sleeping on a hardwood floor, our hips were sore and we both yearned for the cramped comfort of Dotti, our Gypsy caravan (Honda Civic). It was time to head to Louisiana.
New Orleans. The home of Zydeco. Sid used to live here, and performed many feats of Bardic lore in the five days we spent wandering this magnificent port city. All the money we'd scrounged for the year was handy in booking a night at the Old Town Inn. It came in handy again and again as we extended our stay, every night, for four nights, in the morning, after breakfast, just slightly before checkout.
There was rum involved, but we did not go crazy and steered clear of Bourbon street, which Sid explained is overrun by pickpockets and sneakthieves.
The French Quarter is really a beautiful slice of European lifestyle. Every single person we met was outwardly friendly, it was amazing. It felt like home to both of us. Sure, the onseason is hectic, but only part of the Quarter is packed at Mardi Gras. The rest of the year is quieter, but "Every night we throw this little soirée". We remain sorry to have left, but have resolved to return someday to settle down.

Onward through the South we ride!
Lovely pics. They make me want to visit New Orleans even more.
Enjoy the ride but watch out for pirates, cutthroats and other ne'er-do-wells (although with your Jester's song you'd probably have no problem keeping them at bay)
Is it the Nymph Cloak, but what a beautiful lady anyway!
You two look like a good couple! :P
