That might be something I'll look at once I get certain components completed but for the moment (because there is content that has been started but not completed) it's not something I'm about to do.
Schooooooools out for the winter (ok its not the song lyrics but its mostly on point).
Anyways, that means a lot more free time for me to work on this. I'm hoping for instance to get the 2nd part of the Cyric questline finished by Christmas. Then work on Yeorg's and other joinable NPC parts for the rest of the time I have off.
Don't know. Once I have the components I'm currently working on getting completed finished I'll likely do a pass over what I've done. Depending on the state of it I'll look at releasing the mod early.
School has kept me from working on this much. I did manage to work on it a bit yesterday.
So basically I've decided to re-write Yeorg. I was never really fully happy with how his character development worked. On the one hand I wanted him to serve as this source of knowledge about the area around Gullykin/Firewine Bridge/Firewine Ruins/Durlag's Tower and its history. But this never really jived well with him being neutral evil. Below is the current plan I have for him (fortunately, a lot of the leg work was already done here, it just involves re-writing dialog).
I've now decided that when you first encounter him he's actually going to be pretending to be a priest of Mystra (alignment: Neutral). For reasons he doesn't want to get into, he did something that caused him to be disowned by his god and church hierarchy (he can't cast any spells or use turn undead as a result of this). To repent for this he's been sent by his masters to retrieve an artifact from the time of Mystryl - the first goddess of magic. It's said that this would be found somewhere near the elven city that was destroyed with the Firewine Bridge.
In reality this is a front. He's actually attempting to become a member of the Cult of the Dragon. In order to do so he's been tasked by its hierarchy to acquire this item. Once you acquire it (it was taken by the now dead dragon found at the bottom of Durlag's Tower) he says he must bring it to a particular acolyte in the Temple of Gond in Baldur's Gate (a cleric charname with sufficient wisdom can point out that Mystra is known to not have a high regard for Gond, so it is odd that he would be tasked with bringing it to an acolyte of that god in particular).
Once you do so Yeorg is told to report to a one of the houses/warehouses in the south-east corner of the docks (still working out where). There he is told to change out of the "rags" he's been wearing and given new robes. He's also told he's been accepted into "the order".
At which point he tells you that he tells you that he is willing to help you kill Sarevok. You can then choose whether or not you still want him in your group. If you do take him back you learn that he is actually a sorcerer and Dragon Disciple (and is Neutral Evil).
Today I finished the second last area I needed to do for the Cyric questline.
The last area hopefully won't take as long as the first two. After that is finished I'll finish Yeorg's questline and then do a passover of the mod. Once that is done I'll release it as an alpha for people to play.
No timelines on that though. I'm clearly not very good at them

This is simply incredible sir. Words cannot describe the level of thankfulness and awe I feel for what you have done.
I sincerely hope that Beamdog actually adds this as standard update to the game!
1. As a recognition of your incredible talent and dedication. Plus this seems so amazing that it should be *officially* recognized.
2. If they haven't already, they need to hire you and pay you a royalties to have them take this mod and add it as an amendment to the game.
Simply amazing. Can't wait for this to change me out.
So I did a count today. The mod in total currently actually has 17 quests. Some are very small, while others span 5-6 areas. Also if you install everything (but exclude the components that affect all areas) the mod adds around 1300 files to the game.
So one of the quests in the mod involves you helping Kelddath Ormlyr find a new council member for the Beregost council.
According to the sourcebooks there are supposed to be 5 council members, but Thalantyr, Kelddath, and Taerom are the only ones confirmed in the books as being members. If one assumes Gerard Travenhurst is a member that makes 4.
Anyways, for anyone curious these will be your options. Their exact locations will not be advertised in game, with the exception of the few in beregost. It'll largely be up for people to find them. For most you'll get a general description for where they were last seen.
You sure you want to spoil this for yourself?
Military Men/Women
Sir Edward Filmarya (Pal 10, Hm, LG)
Paladin of an order of Tyr based out of Leilon. He's been sent by his order to research the teachings of Alaundo - including the prophecies of Bhaal - in order to prepare his order for what is feared to be a great upcoming evil. When you return there in chapter 6 you can ask him questions about his research and see if he would be willing to put his studies aside in order to join the town council in Beregost. How well you are received by the people of Candlekeep will impact how likely he is to agree to this.
Olbrimsur Thunderwood (LG, hm, R10)
A ranger from Berdusk known for this expeditions against goblins, giants, and other beasts. He’s not really adapt at fighting human combatants, or at handling defensive matters, but his campaigns against the goblins and giants in the region are almost legendarily known.
He can currently be found fighting a band of hobgoblins somewhere in the Wood of Sharp Teeth (actually in the southern part of the bandit camp map).
Cyrag Hammerbone (TN dm, F/T 7).
Cyrag can be asked to step in and join the council as well. He’s a dwarf with a military background (fought in Second Dragonspear War), but is still less experienced than some of the other characters available for the position. You can find him making his way throughout the taverns of Beregost.
Blentra Whaelbuckler (CG hf F9)
An adventurer that hails from Cormyr. She’s in Beregost currently looking at establishing a new inn, the Frozen Tulip. As a former knight of Cormyr she has extensive experience in military campaigns, having served in the fleets of Cormyr against some of the fiercest pirates that operate near Cormyr. She’s looking for a break however and a new place to settle down. As a member of the Harpers (which is revealed if she is spoken to with Jaheira in your group) she also has some connections to offer the town.
She’s currently residing in the vestibule in the temple area, waiting to meet with Kelddath to approve her license to operate in town.
Non-Military
Baranta Chansil (CG hf W14),
A bright, very enthusiastic mage originally from Elturel. She’s come to Baldur’s Gate to expand on her knowledge of magic and purchase more advanced spells. She has little experience however in military matters, having spent much of her time dealing with administrative matters in Elturel. She is however well versed with the nobility in Baldur’s Gate and keeps in regular contact with some of its more powerful noble houses.
In any case, you can find her in Baldur’s Gate in the Helm and Cloak.
Baskor Tranth (NG hm M9).
Originally from Suzail, Baskor’s drinking caught up with him and after a visit from the authorities (and out of an unhealthy amount of paranoia) he chose to leave town. He’s since made his way to Baldur’s Gate - in the hope of acquiring more combat spells through which he can protect himself from his enemies.
He can be found in Baldur’s Gate’s Sorcerous Sundries, trying to convince a child to steal Halbazzer Drin’s spellbook.
Nope. They wouldn't also speed things up at all. I won't be working again on this until at least August 14th due to school. Then I'll be stopping around September 5th again because of school. So its going to be awhile.
Yea sooo... I'll work on this this weekend. However, school starts for me in like 4 days. I'm also not able to put any work into the mod during my reading week in October. So basically I'll let everyone know where I'm at this upcoming week, but don't expect much in the way of updates on this before December.
I'd love to add this and rough world altogether in a mega modded game. There are a few mods that are so close to either moving out of beta or coming with major updates it seems. When this and IWD in EET are complete I think the that'll mark the day I do another major play through.
