that time of the year is here. it is time for us to run our wallets dry on thousands of cheap games that we will likely never actually play! i believe we've had this thread before, but it deserves a new one for this year just as the santa head thread did.
i, myself, am pretty good at not wasting every dollar I have on inflating my game library. thus far I put $13 on Metal Gear Solid Ground Zeroes because I understand it is a short sort of demo to the actual Phantom Pain coming out next year and would not buy that at full price. I do want to get an idea of what MGSV will be like and I am glad I could do so at a discount. Also I think I've heard that there are bonuses in Phantom Pain for owning GZ so for the price I think it may be worth it.
so, what games have you bought/are planning on buying? i personally have no plan on what to buy, and merely intend to keep checking as it goes to see what I am interested in at a good price. feel free to share your must-have deals with us so we don't miss out!

I bought my brother a copy of hammerwatch for $3 so far. I'm keeping an eye on my wishlist.... Who knows what I'll end up with.
But if I find a nice discount on other games from my wishlist, I might get one or two =]
Anything on sale now, will be on sale in the future.
Besides Inquisition, which I will get on console after playing through Origins and 2, and their expansions, will I purchase it though.
I love Steam for as many games as possible that I can buy on it, just for the "hours played" counter, if nothing else. I would have bought all the EE's there if I didn't feel like doing that would be costing profit to Beamdog.
Do they have any of the Neverwinter Nights games, the old Might and Magic games, or any such? Also, just how "on sale" are the EE's, and are they fully updated? I'd be tempted to buy them again there just for a future play hours counter, although my play hours since 1998 are now forever lost in time.
I already have Sacred 2, Sacred 1, Freedom Force 1 and 2, Dragon Age: Origins, and several other old favorites there, most of which I've never played.
Except for my possibly number one old favorite Sacred 2, for which my Steam counter says I've played over 350 hours, and that's just since I bought it there, not counting my many hours of play on Sacred 2's original release.
Only M&M X available at -40% (though some HoMMs and Dark Messiah are here as well)
EEs are up to date - played BG2EE 1.3 open beta. Currently BGEE @-50%, BG2EE @-30%, IWDEE no sale =[
So, it's better to check every day if something has changed in terms of certain games.
btw, now that I've played I should mention Ground Zeroes doesn't work the greatest on AMD systems atm. many AMD users (including myself) have problems with a huge memory leak and report it can only be fixed by using the lowest texture setting. in fact, this game broke my windows aero! i actually couldn't turn it back on for whatever reason until after I restarted my computer because it tried to conserve memory lol. also the fox engine may try a little too hard to conserve memory, as it only allows for 3 unconscious/sleeping bodies at a time (the others are invisible) and hides distant soldiers so they pop in if you look in binoculars. this seems like a very console issue and considering nvidia people are having no problems I think the PC really doesn't need this, at least after they fix the AMD issues. I did like the gameplay and hope Phantom Pain will have the issues with GZ solved. also, I gotta say the kb+m controls are not that great. no mouse menu navigation, holding a key and reaching for others during interogations is not easy, I would like to enter first person aim using scroll but I can't bind that. despite it all I know it looks absolutely amazing and I really hope that they can take our feedback to make Phantom Pain great because I love metal gear and I am so happy to play it's latest iteration on PC!
Might have to give them a go.
Edit: My first attempt had me live 1 hr and 15 minutes after dying from injuries sustained from fighting off a wolf. Awesome
I haven't played much about it but I will praise it on its ability to set an atmosphere. Right from the start I felt like I had no idea what I was doing, how I was going to find food or shelter, or even how I was going to defend myself. But given the nature of the game this works really well. They really got the atmosphere down pat I think, including the wind sounds and the snow and ice crunching beneath your feet. The hour and 15 minutes I mentioned is game time, not real life time. In reality between my two play throughs of the game I've only played it for about 30 minutes (real life time) But so far I've liked it. Its definitely not a game for everyone though.
The Witcher 2 is 85% off on Steam right now.
Got Wolf Among Us as gift from friend, which convinced me to get Jurrasic Park The Game finally as both are made by Telltale Games studio. And that's all... Though on other hand, it might be for good as I still have huge backlog from previous sales XD
I guess I will need to train my patience with IWDEE... >.<
