The best is yet to come.
Time traveling FTW!
Now I'm sitting here praying for a ee version.
I also prefer the character sprites from the original, and the stone interface.
On the other hand, if I played the original again, I'd miss a lot of features from EE, such as auto loot pickup, zoom, and character action icons on character portraits.
DON'T MAKE ME CHOOSE!
It's not just bug fixes and streamlining, new characters, new maps, new quests and new items.
"Adventure Y - I guarantee"
(Gathers all of her copies of Baldur’s Gate, Baldur’s Gate II and Planescape Torment to her breast.) “You are each special in your own way.”
Actually......
Baldur's Gate Enhanced Edition
Baldur's Gate II Enhanced Edition
Icewind Dale Enhanced Edition
The originals are inferior to the advances that was done to them in the EE editions, especially from a modders perspective. Now I can officially retire the CDs of those three games because they will never be reinstalled on my computer.
Gave that same feeling as vanilla, when you start out with a fresh level one character, exploring and painfully aware of just how fragile you are (a single arrow from a lowly kobold is enough to end it for a mage), then learning to take care of yourself as you go along.
Compared to Athkatla there is hardly anything happening.
