Well, I'd expect her to be less one-dimensional than the normal Flaming Fist dude... but I'd still like to here her say "I am the law!" every once in awhile for the giggles.
I initially expected M'Khiin to be the most anticipated, and that certainly seems to be the case as she has run away with it.
However, I was under the impression that Voghiln would be a close second and that Corwin, being human and another ranger, both of already have plenty of representatives in these games, would be the least. Yet she is second and he is last (though I suspect many M'Khiin people would have other characters as their "second most anticipated")
I kinda anticipated Glint being somewhere around third. Gnomes seem to be the Cult Classic of the D&D races... a product not widely-consumed but greatly appreciated by a small but fervent fanbase. No surprises there, 12% was about what I would anticipate.
It's been implied that Corwin has a direct connection to SoD's story (moreso than the others), so that might explain why she's more anticipated than Voghiln or Glint.
If not our tiny, adorable goblin gal then I'd choose Glint. I LOVE shorties . I just think a shorty that might also be a necromancer (Shamans summon spirits right?) looks very appealing.
I'm not surprised the character with the new class gets the most vote and I'm also not surprised I'm with the majority vote - often, I'm not really special.

Well that depends on your definition of necromancy.. As far as I understand it, she doesn't animate the dead but calls upon the spirits of nature, but we will see how the class is actually presented
Also, did I miss something? i know Corwin has been described as a "deadshot archer" but that does not neccesserily mean she is uses a specific ranger kit, she could just be a fighter with GM in bows or crossbows. Especially since Rangers are more nature based and the Flaming Fist is more city based.. it seems weird to me tbh. ^^

Agreed. It seems strange to have a flaming fist mercenary NPC who is a ranger. Especially an archer, given how every flaming fist mercenary we see is in full plate and is packing steel.
To be honest I'm not particularly eager for any of them. I like Baldur's Gate as it is, and I do like the extra quest and mechanical content that is being added, but I don't need any new NPCs, and I've never liked monster races as playable PCs: I feel that the rich lore of Faerun gives plenty of interesting characters to be created without straying into the realm of the silly or 'controversially' niche. Vampires? Goblins? I'm not into it. I very much look forward to SoD - if not only because it is our first opportunity to see Beamdog creating a game that is primarily their's, and secondarily that of the original creators of BG. Thus far we have seen them adding their flavour to an incredible game, but now they are using an incredible game as the threading for something that's their own. I am very hopeful and eager to see it done, although I will be happy if I play through it without any of the new NPCs, frankly. I didn't get a boatload of banter out of any of the BG1 NPCs when I first fell in love with BG, and although I like the idea of it, I don't need it now to enjoy them as I always have.

The FF may be a heavy infantry unit, but to be effective they would need specialists. Their area of operations includes a lot of forest, so they'd have to have people who could patrol those woods.
I chose Captain Schael Corwin, because badass warrior women are cool! I only hope she isn't a one-dimensional tough soldier character. Class doesn't matter much to me.
Voghiln the Vast sounds cool, too. I like that he is a human, as there are viking-like humans in the northern sea. A Norman helmet and a beard do not automatically make you a dwarf, but a human with a Norman helmet and a beard. :P
M’Khiin Grubdoubler: I went through the Spine of the World and the northern wastes and haven't met one goblin who wasn't either vile to the core (or stupid like Orrik's servant). I'm not a great fan of unually-enemy monsters turned into companions, but I'm willing to accept her as an awesome character - *if* she truly is one.
Glint Gardnersonson: I'm very sceptical towards gnomes. They share the same thematic place with dwarves and halflings, IMO, and therefore stand on a thin line between remarkable and utterly replacable.
The very first NPC I invented as a DM for my D&D campaign was a goblin. The last PC I created as a player was a goblin. My favourite D&D related game is Baldur's Gate. We have come full circle.

I can now have four gnomes in my party...
And a goblin.
I have a suspicion that Glint and M'Khiin will have a similar relationship to what Quayle had with Tiax
