What are ... Weaknesses? I am at Final Battle(Not sure I can finish game)

I am now fighting Melissan at the second pool and although I have been able to get her near death a few times, I am trying not to use Slayer, I cannot finish her off.
1. A serious hindrance is that none of Valygar's weapons seem to work "they have no effect" even the golem suit and armor. I tried using the weapons that are for chaotic evil, too. Is she chaotic evil?
2.I have 2 wild mages (I am one) that seem to do damage, but I think the spells are too slow - contingency was already used in the first battle. I think I have all the spells available in the game.
3. Imoen can only set 2 traps.
4. Jaheira has great creatures she can summon and Viconia has earthquake etc.
5. And those slayer shadows are ridiculous. If they are shadows why doesn't fake sunrise and such destroy them. They prevent my team from moving North, even if we are invisible and they move so fast.

So this forum has helped me so much in both games I hope you can help me finish.

Concentrate on Mel, not her summons.

You have 3 mages (Imoen, Neera and Charname). Use their 9th level spells to the max. Use HLAs. And don't forget about the Wish resting.

Viconia, while buffed, can be a pretty decent tank. Let her stop enemies while others are concentrating on Mel.

As for Jaheira, I advice to take Energy Blades HLAs as all 7th level spells. With them she'll kill shadows in seconds.

Okay, (I had to look up HLA's) I have energy blades but the one time I used them against a dragon I think they weren't very effective, I'll try again. Time stop is iffy because sometimes Mel goes after someone in the troop too. I might have to reconstitute many of the level 9 spells. WoW I just noticed you said to take ALL 7th level spells as energy blades. Will do, thanks

Weaknesses are aspects of a thing, group, area or idea that are impacted more negatively by certain outside forces. Hopefully I provided a good answer for the thread title.
