Edwin looks back to the man a large smile on his face.
"I had forgotten introductions. I am Edwin, you already met the lovely lady Tamoko, or should I say you met her whip. The fellow holding the bow aimed at your heart is Kivan. As you can tell they are rather quick to anger and mistrust. I believe it in your interest to tell us your whole story, if only to ease their minds."
The man takes his clothes, looking a little shell-shocked himself at this point. You can see a lump on the back of his head as well. "M'name is Ned. Ned Shakeshaft. I'm a re-distributor by trade, y'know, redistributin' the possessions of them what 'ave no need for them... I was headin' to Saltmarsh, as I 'eard there was work for my kind of people 'ereabahts. I came up the coast from the South, and it were gettin' dark, so I looked abaht fer a place to kip, and settled on this 'ere place. I made me way around and came through a door near the kitchen. But someone grabbed me in the dark and whacked me abaht the head, and when I woke up, I was 'ere."
"I been 'ere for a few days, and I thought I was a goner, but then I 'eard someone kick in a door, and I thought that if I kicked loud and long enough, someone might 'ear me and set me free."
"Well, in your current situation, it could well be the cause of 'ur dyin'," Kivan pronounces the word dying in a mocking version of the same accent the man used.
Ned laughs. "Yer adventurers, ain'tcha? Isn't yer whole deal killin' people and takin' their things to enrich yer own pockets? At least I don't kill anybody first. But now that ye've rescued me, If'n ye be wantin' me gone. I'll go. I don't gotta stay here and be abused." He pauses to put on his clothes and makes his way through you to the hallway. Once there, he heads in the direction of the main stairway.
"Tell me something friend, where does a worthless sneak thief such as yourself manage to find so hefty an amount of gold. Mind you don't lie, my elvin friend is looking for any little reason to fill you full of arrows."
"The gold is likely stolen property. Since we're such nice people we won't turn you in to the local authorities. We will pretend that you turned the gold in so that the rightful owners can be found. If nobody claims the gold in 30 days you may have it back, if you can find us."
"Find?" Ned grins. "Oh, 'ere and there... as it were, I came into a windfall on the ship I was helping crew, a fat fish with a gold ring in its belly. The captain sold it and gave all of us a share. But if ye're so desperate for coin that you need it, keep it." Once again, he turns, and this time he leaves.
Minsc, a bit late on the scene with the so-called evil prisoner, takes a moment to make things clear to Tamoko. Seizing her arm, he gives her a shake and says, "This behaviour must not continue. Feel the burning stare of my hamster and change your ways." Otherwise, he would not be able to look Boo in the eyes again.

"Had I? How silly of me, this is my good friend Mazzy."
"And you have heard nothing while here? Seen no one in all that time?"
Alora is unhappy and sits in the corner to ponder the matter.
"Leaving without your gold pieces?"
"Tell me something friend, where does a worthless sneak thief such as yourself manage to find so hefty an amount of gold. Mind you don't lie, my elvin friend is looking for any little reason to fill you full of arrows."
"Odd, he did not seem the sort to worry so little over money."
" An arrow in his back would have sold it more."
"You are correct, only the power of the mystical arts and the overthrowing and manipulation of the simpleminded can gain us that."
