Something quite magical happens when Mazzy lays her hands on Eldoth and prays to Avoreen. He begins to feel better. She can see an ugly green stain on his back where the blade went in, though... undoubtedly poison! No usual thief feels that comfortable using poison... Ned must be an assassin!
Minsc darts after the assassin, cloaked in black and wearing black clothes, and the man curses as he realizes he's being too closely followed to slip into shadows and hide a second time. Minsc comes close enough to hack at him. He hits the man for 9 points of damage, and Ned turns and stabs at the Ranger- hitting him with an effing 20! Minsc sees greenish stuff on the blade, and tries to turn aside, but takes 2 points of damage, and makes his save with another 20! (I swear I am NOT making this up) After an ineffective series of blows, Minsc puts an end to it by driving his sword into the man's chest for another 10 points of damage, killing him outright. More green poison flows down the blade as Minsc watches, and he can see that the man has smeared himself with some kind of sooty mixture, darkening his face to black, much like Drow are said to be. But lighter skin around his eyes, mouth and nostrils gives him away.
*Slinging the lute back, Eldoth goes over to the corpse and slits its throat to be sure. Then grabs the dagger by its handle and inspects it, as well as stripping the assassin of any items that could be of use, attempting to identify whatever is found*
"We're all heroes," Minsc announced, proud that his handiwork has left the killer as a has-been. "You, and Boo, and I. Hamsters and Rangers everywhere, rejoice!" Truer words had never been spoken, making Minsc wonder if there was more than a little bard in him. After all, he was huge, so it was likely that there was a lot more than even Minsc knew. Teeny bits of different goodness, placed here and there... Maybe some magic, too, lest butt-kicking need a little additional kick! "Right, Boo?"
What do you intend to do now? There is that trapdoor in the floor, and Ned seemed to be intent on ensuring you didn't go down there. On the other hand... you have no cleric, and Mazzy, as good as she is at healing, isn't a full cleric. @StrikerTTD You want to change your character from Coran to someone else?
Alora wants to go down the trapdoor but is also a bit freaked out since the death of Tamoko. Who despite being a meany did save her life when she got stirged.
@katastrophe OOC Thought you did a great job being Tamoko. Who will you be coming back as next?
"As the voice of reason, wit and learning in this group, it is my decision that we see what this trapdoor holds. I will allow Minsc and Mazzy to lead the way down."

I think we should all listen to Edwin because he is cleverer than the rest of us.
So, the choice is to go down. Okay, then... You crack open the trap door and see about 30' of stairs leading down. It leads you to a huge room, about 30' by 85' at its widest point. You have entered into a room which is so unlike the others you have seen so far that it takes you aback for a moment. The illumination is good, since several torches are held in shoulder high (for a human) brackets around the room. This was obviously a cellar, but just as obviously it is now used for an entirely different purpose: Your first impression is that it is the living quarters for about 10 people.
Ten single beds (crude affairs- little more than thin mattresses on wooden boards) stand with their heads to the southern wall, each with a small wooden locker at its foot. In the center of the flagstone floor is a long wooden trestle table on which is a variety of cheap metal cutlery and earthenware crockery together with a large jug about half full of a light brown liquid. There are a dozen wooden stools around the table. Against the north wall are two casks, one larger than the other and both broached. The larger one is nearly full of a clear liquid, the smaller one about half full of a light brown liquid. A metal dipper hangs on the outside of the larger cask.
Next to the casks is a large, wooden bin. Above it, hanging on hooks on the wall, are a large ham, a long string of sausages and a small side of meat. Next to the bin is what appears to be a crude, metal wood-fired stove standing in a fireplace. Above the stove, on a shelf, are some iron and earthenware cooking utensils, while next to the fireplace is a small pile of logs.
Near the foot of the stairs are two small, unbroached casks, and next to them is a bolt of cloth. At the far eastern end of the room, you see a door, and a room bumped out from the rest of the cellar to the north and east, also with a door. Both doors are closed.
What are you doing to test the liquids? Sniffing, tasting a bit, something else? The lockers are all unlocked and contain only clothing and personal effects indicating that the inhabitants are probably all male and human.
As you get closer to the east end of the room, you can see that the door to the north and east is locked and has a lock on it. The one directly to the north has a stout wooden bar affixed to the door and frame with equally stout wooden hangers and the word "Donger!" is chalked onto the door. (Yes, it is probably misspelled.)
Drink up Edwin... *grabs the ladle, dips it and sniffs. If it smells alcoholic Eldoth takes a sip, swishes it around and decides if to swallow or not, I assume it'll be good and he'll find the whole ladle*
Comments
Someone run after the assassin!
@LadyRhian - doesn't hide in shadows fail after an attack? If so, we should get a chance to attack, as most of us have weapons drawn
"That's for killing the only remaining medium sized female in the group, you bastard!"
@mlnevese - I was sort of doing the low-int assumes he's good at things he isn't because he's so unwise that he doesn't know better

"Mmm... I haven't had a decent meal in days! Come on people, lets feast!"
"Mmm... mmm... so good!"
*He gives some to Milo too."
