So as so many of us post this challenge with beautiful picture I though "hey why not to share them that we all enjoy them" so I'll start with mine:

Lots of my portraits had S format that is no longer legible for BGEE and BG2EE starting from this patch, so I'll have to edit source pictures for M or L portrait sizes. I'll see what I can do.

Most of my custom portraits are either by enkida or Isandir, but some others I picked up on the forum I don't know the artist of. If anyone recognises the artwork, please let me know so I can discover more of their work!

I noticed that your flower girl is also not at the correct resolution. After finding a lot of copies where either her forehead was cut off, the whole image was way oversaturated, or it was way too tiny to work with, I found this:

display correctly as vertical portrait ? I mean is it croped so that it shows the character face?
I can't check it out because I'm out of town.

@Adul: Thanks, they look awesome!

@Brus: Those are 16:9 wallpapers, and obviously not available for straight use. Several of those could be used to create nice portraits, just by cropping the face/torso.

Others aren't as suited because their foreheads are cut off, they're too horizontallly positioned, or they're too close to another person. Some adequate photoshopping may solve some of those issues, but that's beyond my expertise.

If there's any you fancy, I could give an example.

The first one's from Pillars of Eternity, then I have literally no idea where they come from.
Also there's this one based in a painting of Nietzsche by Munch (I wanted to run a Human Wizard and had no idea what portrait to use).

So, @Thels asked me to upload my portraits here, which sounds like a thing I can do. But the easiest thing to do is just gonna be to upload all my custom portraits here in a giant zip file, because I have a ton of them. That's a bit less pretty to look at, but it'd give you fine folks access to everything I've collected over the last few years, which is not inconsiderable. Anyone have a problem with me doing that?

@Kaguana: It was pretty easy for the Redhead. For the flower girl, it took a little bit more work, because there are so many variations, but I think the one I found is better quality than the one you used.

However, if you do have the source of the purple girl with the blade, please do share!

@Jarrakul: For some reason, your FCleric2 is saved as a 32bit bitmap. Since bitmaps don't even support transparency, I wonder what that does...

I noticed that most of Jarrakul's images are rather IWDish, in that they don't focus on the face, but include most of the upper, and sometimes even lower body. They may make a poor fit among regular BG portraits, but should be fine if you use all kinds of such pics:

Note that they're not in a 330x210 aspect ratio, and thus will be misformed when displayed in game. Some couple perhaps be recropped, but for most, you'd need the source to get a good image.

That happens occasionally, and I'm not sure why. BG won't show them, of course, so I'm usually careful to make sure it hasn't happened, but apparently that one slipped through.

@Jarrakul: I really liked your "witch" portrait, the one with the black hood, but didn't really like how it was zoomed out on the body. Fortunately, it was easy to find the source, which I then used to make a new crop.

She'll be excellent if I can ever set myself to an evil playthrough!

With that picture I was able to find similar pictures, and found a more zoomed out version of the pink haired chick, which I of course had to convert into a new avatar as well. Unfortunately, it's hard to retain the aspect ratio, and make her right hand not come out weird. I included a 2nd version where I bent the aspect ratio as well, but not as much as in your original image.

I should probably mention that I keep the source images for all my portraits, so if someone wants to do a re-crop of one of them, as Thels did, let me know and I can post the originals. Of course, a reverse image search will probably find the originals for you in most cases, but just in case it doesn't, I've got them.

I've done some more recropping. For some of the images, I made 2 different versions, because the zoom level is a personal taste, that can differ between people.

@Jairyanna: Why haven't you uploaded this one yet?
