Got Heresy?

ButtercheeseButtercheese Member Posts: 3,766

What kind of stuff do you deem heretic when it comes to the games and DnD in general?
Maybe even in relations to the forums specifically?
Even better if you commit said heresy yourself :D

Let's start!
1. Playing official DnD settings with other systems.
2. Using PDF rule books instead of physical copies.
3. Playing PnP onlie via Skype or something similar.
4. Prefering IWD over BG.
5. Prefering vanilla BG over BG NPC project.
6. Not liking Minsc.

And even though I don't want to mention this, I probably should:
This is supossed to be funny. No actual bashing here. We are poking fun at each other and ourselves here.

    7. Favouring any edition over second edition.

(You had to know that was coming) :P

    [spoiler]
Even though I have most of the rule books for second edition, I'm still guilty of this:
    2. Using PDF rule books instead of phyisical copies.
I have a couple PDFs I look at when I want to find something quickly. My only gripe is that not all the books were done in PDF format.
    3. Playing PnP onlie via Skype or something similar.
I used to play via IRC waaaay back, after the third group I was in became too busy to attend set weekly or monthly dates in person. We did weekly dates for around three hours in the evening on a Saturday for around a year.

    Both are definitely heresy. :D

OK, I think I need to clarify the difference between herecy and dick move in the context of this thread.

Heresy: Opinion, nostalgia, "how it's supossed to be"/ "how it's always been", taste over reason
Dick Move: Rocks fall, everyone dies.

This thread is about heresy, not dick moves.
That DM pulled a dick move.

My example was a bit of a caricature of course, but in general, cheating is the supreme heresy in my book.

I hate the scene when Irenicus capture you in spellhold for example, no saves allowed etc (of course here the GM is the computer so it cannot improvise but you get my point).
