Nice. I’m wondering if the large scroll box needs to come in just a little bit on the right side of your grayscale.
It could, but that could cause the edge of the background on the right to become wider, and to be uneven with the left side. I don't quite know if that's important or not, to be honest.
I was just concerned that the small space for ornamentation might be being lost on the right before. I like how your full mock up has that. It helps to soften the box a bit. I personally would narrow the big box a hair more, but I don’t know.
I hacked together some art using the current inventory page and Pecca's. The only real difference is the character name/class box size effecting the placement of the icons and the height/length of the scroll box.
I narrowed the text box (only by 6 pixels), lowered the ground box a bit (so it's centered vertically), and straightened out the bottom of the background box:
So the question now is how important are, say, 3 lines of text in the scroll box versus a bit more art in the top right corner? I'm inclined, agreeing with @Dee, that minimising scrolling even if it is only by a few lines is more valuable.
This is 1.3, already on the road to moving in more text. Just gets less like the original with each patch.

Did anyone tried to take v1.3 screen, just add the additional 'number of attacks' icon below current ones, merging the window on the right side into one (so we have 1 scrollbar) and rotating the ground icons section? I'm wondering if that wouldn't look better than the latest designs.

I'm pretty sure we've covered that somewhere. I was just playing around, with some finesse they could've made it work.

@Adul - can you match your layout to @Danathion 's latest so we can compare your last two layouts...?
That said, I don't like this. I think it breaks up the flowing consistency of the screen.
My guess is it was the 2.0 that broke up the header for some reason. Or maybe it was like that in 1.3 too, I don't remember.
Is there gold at the end of the rainbow?
