Nice job @histamiini. You really killed the Shadow Aspect? What? I tried it dozens of times but at some point it always disappeared forever before i could kill it. You also meleed Morentherene? Wow! I always kited him like a chicken. Looks like we had a completly different way playing the Cavalier. While i was kiting most enemies to death with the Throwing Axe you just stand there and hack them away. Funny. Too bad that the choke point tactic wont work at Coalition Camp. But i am sure you have a plan. We will see!
BtW: What the hell is OGL?
Yeah, I waited like 15 minutes and watched it go through its defensive spells which never ended. Dissappeared? I thought so too first, but for me it made a copy of itself which stayed in the room and the real one went invisible and started wandering the temple. Then the copy dissappeared after some time. Also I didn't open the chest before I had killed it, if that triggers some scripts. You can tank Morentherene with DG if the rest of the wyverns don't overhelm you. Cave entrance is good for this as you can also retreat outside to heal and I don't think they'll follow. Yeah I haven't kited much in SoD, only the couple missile shooting Goblin and Hobgoblin Goblin war parties with OGL, haven't touched on Throwing Axe at all in SoD. Quickly kill, or deplete enemy casters and set a choke point and there's little any number of (melee) enemies can do.
Oh dear: Would you have said Necklace of Missiles everything would have been clear. I am not used to the term as i played the non-english version most of the time.
Anyway: Looks like things went pretty smoothly so far even though i would take a much more careful approach to minimize any danger. Thats at least what @Grond0 and @Blackraven have teached me before i also switched over to no-reload-runs. I would either skip Morentherene or instakill him with a Throwing Dagger. Or split Ziatar and the Mages. Or just kill her shooting from max range to trick the AI. I also skip the battle around Bridgefort and surrender to the Crusaders as the effects are only minimal. But i like your bold approach tanking most opposition instead of playing like a trickful chicken.
It looks like the Shadow Aspect is behaving somewhat different in my installation (maybe some hidden SCS script?) as i was never able to catch it again once it vanished. Even when Mislead expired it instantly went invisible again giving me absolutely no chance to attack it. Even worse: If the assassin figured out that it can kill me it backstabbed me to death if PfU wasnt up. If PfU was up it summoned even more shadows and vanished again so i couldnt touch it anymore. Such a smart beast...
Well on the other hand I don't think I'll ever have patience, or concentration to no reload run. Btw how does Throwing Dagger instakill Morentherene?
I only saw the Shadow Aspect because of the Fireshield (blue). Then I once bumbed on him and he became visible and never went invisible again. It never summoned anything for me.
The instakilling Throwing Dagger on the sleeping (!) Morentherene is an Easter Egg and very welcome for any No-Reload-Run.
The Shadow Aspect never uses Fireshield in my game and for whatever reason always instantly goes invisible (again and again and again) when dropping low. No fun without True Sight!
Man all this activity here and the recent discovery of Enchanted Weapon in SoD really makes me wanna restart as Fighter dualed into Mage. My shapeshifter could easily finish the game but the fact there is no GWW token in SoD saddens me and I'd have to use a weapon on Big B. I'd probably go with plain fighter for 4 pips in Longbow, since Berserker only gets 2 pips in ranged.
Right @Victor_Creed_SFV. Show us the power of Enchanted Weapon in SoD!!! If i get some time i will try another restart to get back more routine. My latest tests with Swashbuckler and F/C did not work well as i was always hacking on the WASD keys after playing D:OS2 too much and i also mistimed the pause button really badly.
Ahahaha I always hit WASD, too, screw Divinity. I just created Black Widder a Human Fighter, rolled a 86 with a 18/100 ST score, not really necessary since I plan to mainly use a longbow, but since a Fighter dualed into mage doesn't need Wisdom a 86 is more than enough. With the Comp Longbow from Bereghost and regular arrows the fighter had a 15 Thac0 at level 1 so i started to hunt all kiteable (melee) enemies and collect some key items. So far i killed the spiders, Mirianne's ogrillons, Belt Ogre, Krumm and bro (charmed krumm). I did Rufie and Catgirl quests, got Shield amulet, Petri scroll and pots from Carnival and nooberized Noober. I'm about 800 exp off from level 4, level 3 was pretty big statswise, since we got a third pip in longbows and are now at 2,5 apr. While kiting I can easily shoot 2 arrows before enemies reach me, depending on the terrain even 3 are pretty easy to hit. Next up is Meilum and Samuel, then maybe Ankheg cave and fishermen, since I probably can just run thru the cave without Invis or haste, since with Ankheg plate from nashkel and Ogre belt I have -8 AC vs missiles (might even be able to farm a couple Ankhegs for xp).
I'm stuck, I'm to talk to Phossey Dugdeep on my way out, but when I do so, he just says "we have to wait the third party" or something like that, but nothing happens and I can't get the explosives from him. Anyone know a solution?
Talk to the Commanders (tent in the southern area) first. After that you should get the explosive barrel talk with Commander *forgot-his-name* and Phossey. Even if this does not work for whatever reason: You wont need the barrel to finish the game.

I did talk to them, but the commander just stays at the tent and Dugdeep is just waiting him. Really you can finish it without the bomb? I've always put the Bwoosh and poisons in place.
The disadvantages of not using the poison and the explosive barrel are:
1. During the final Siege of Dragonspear the Crusaders will not be weakened and kill your own troops faster. But as there is another way to win the Siege this doesnt matter that much. 2. You will have to find a new way into the Castle as you cannot bomb the main gate down. This will lead to another battle in the SE - which should be no big deal for your Cavalier.
Never had any problems with this talking trigger - strange!
I really like how you can use the AI script for kiting. It isn't really worth much more, but it helps you not having to autopause for most terrains when you kite stuff around.
After having a much closer call at meilum then it needed to be (accidentally aggroed not 1 but 2 groups of kobolds with several commandos, but luckily they can only hit on crit vs -8 ac) and doing several other minor quests the fighter is now level 5 and only needs 2 more to dual. I might actually end up doing the main quest until I get the familiar scroll, then go to basilisk map or Durlags top and charm cheese my way all the way to regaining fighter levels.
Its too bad that the poverty approach from @Grond0 wont work in the long run for this challenge. Or have you tried it with SCS+LoB? Maybe i will restart this evening with another Thief-like character to train a bit more for Korgath and Eklun. At least i am no longer hitting WASD and pushing Pause again. This should be fun!

What do you think is ruling out a poverty approach? It would certainly be horrendously difficult and require luck to go your way, but I would have thought a priest of helm or totemic druid would both technically be possible. I'm not sure about shaman or mage classes.
Hence my reference to priest of helm and totemic - both have access to harm and a way to hit Belhifet afterwards. In fact, thinking about it I'm pretty sure the basic fire elemental would also hit him so any druid could potentially do the job .
Clerics get remove fear as a spell, but @Victor_Creed_SFV has spotted the tiny flaw in my argument - clerics won't get level 6 spells unless you've removed the level cap .
As for fear on the druids I agree that's a vulnerability, but in order to win they would need to be exceptionally lucky in lots of ways .
Finally at the camp and summoned Nazramu and got rich. Bought all the good stuff, Dervish Crescent, Blade of Skillful Blade and Ring of Purity. Did all the mundane tasks, spied on Dragonspear castle doing tasks also for them. Got first experience of Fireshield (red) fighting undead in the Hidden Cellar, couldn't beat them so used Sanctuary, Storm Potion and Chill axe to get strength to 25 and got the Amulet of Whispers from the chest. Silence 15', could come handy this. Got also Clasp of Helm for its detect illusion. All in all avoided every fight and collected all the items which could be useful on upcoming fight. Went to spy Heprenaan, he noticed me so I turned invisible, looted the chest and freed Daeros and got his Full Plate. Quickly escaped a massive horde of enemies.
Trolls attack. First tested the fight and it was pretty much over before it began. The troll gear I had for this fight wasn't all that, because there was so many different enemies. Tried Command, Mental Domination and Silence on the Ogre-Mages like 10 times but they always saved. Silence perhaps got the other mage once. Tried buffing some and meleeing, but couldn't tank them. Then started to buff even more, Storm, Speed, Invulnerability, multiple Heroism and couple Power and Dex potions, and got health to over 300. And now I could tank them with the help of DG. Problem was that I was too slow and the mages came to help and the fight was quickly over. Another try and this time I used Myconid summons but it wasn't still fast enough. Then I started using OGL in every round between meleeing and summoning, and bingo finally killed them fast enough. Perhaps if you kill Yorok first it will delay mages? I really had the optimal Cavalier I think with ** in Scimitars, *** and Two Weapon Style and wielding Dervish Crescent on hand and Twinkle off hand. With them, buffing and using OGL every round you can do damage fast enough to prevent mages coming. Easily the toughest fight yet, and had about 20 tries on it before I got the right tactic. Also only used 4 refreshess from DG.
Mages attack. Well this was much easier, used rest of the Myconids, Greenstone amulet and only 2 times the Goblet. Beat them first try. Rest of the Crusaders attack. This was tough fight again, although beat them first try, had to sacrifice rest of the Goblet tanking them. The final battle was pretty trivial when Garrus and company are unkillable. Finally used Throwing Axes in SoD. I knew the ** in axes was well spent.
Was pretty dissappointed when I couldn't travel to High Hedge to replenish the Goblet, but luckily Horst did that for me in the Dead Mans Pass. Onto Dragonspear Castle.
Great job @histamiini. Hah, i knew that with optimal equipment, a decent strategy and some luck the Crusader Attacks should be doable even for a Cavalier. At least when you got unlimited reloads.
The rest of SoD should be no big deal thanks to the innate +hit and +damage vs demons. Big B should go down pretty soon. No?
As SoA will get a lot easier the "only challenge" will be ToB and here especially the final fight against Amelyssan. I know that my setup in the past with Su´kka the Barbarian wasnt perfect but without all those little tricks a Mage or Thief can pull off this will be a very hard nut to crack. We will see!
Anyway: There is a lot of work to be done before. Have i said work? Replace it with "fun" and we are right. No?
In the meanwhile i have rolled a new character that will hopefully get farer than my last fails. To hell with D:OS2!
Say hello to Bavaborass the sturdy Dwarven Fighter/Cleric:
I already collected all items to start the infamous Basilisk-XP-Loop (yes, i am lazy). After that i will hopefully roll through the reputation quests and gather more essential items. So far nothing special. No ambushes, no slips from my side. Lets hope i dont hit the WASD keys again instead of SPACE.
@Harpagornis Thanks. Yeah that and Ring of The Crusade and Modron heart should give very good hitting against them. Cavalier is still growing a lot, gettings spells and getting AoF upgraded. Although I've never done it with LoB Ascension, I think Cavalier is made for the end battles. I can have at the same time 97 Magic Resistance and 85 Damage Reduction. Which brings me into one guestion, how long is the ToB LoB Ascension end battle? I can have 5 AoF's, but how many Hardnessess should I take? Well perhaps that's still too far ahead when I haven't yet even finished this.
To answer your question: The end battle is very long as you have to kill everything before even touching Amelyssan. But as you said yourself: There are many other challenges before!
It's not only cavalier, I think for every class Mel is the smallest problem (except maybe true classes) since BG2 gives you HLAs and unlimited item options. I think with reloads there isn't many classes who can't complete this challenge but with no reload Big B seems the biggest challenge. Once again I don't know about some true classes, my DD couldn't beat LoB (no SCS) Abazigal, but i refused to use Scroll of PfM, Cloak of mirroring or Big Meetal Unit.
Armor of Faith - okay! But saying Mel is "easy" while Big B is the biggest challenge: Cant totally agree. After doing both battles quite a lot the Mel fight feels much more painful - especially as the enemies can throw so many things at you. Big B and friends are pretty straightforward and with some training i can win this fight with (nearly) any Fighter class in most cases. Maybe i will get to the point where i can say the same about Mel - but not today. Su´kka my Barbarian failed hard against Mel even though my preparation was far from perfect as i lacked a lot of metagame knowledge. Korgath the Bountyhunter was easier but only because he could trick them down with endless numbers of traps plus spells. And even then i had to reload many times.

One of the best One Gift Lost.
