Put Morte's sprite next to the demilich sprite so we can see how they compare.

    We need a Noober sprite.
  • KamigoroshiKamigoroshi Member Posts: 5,870
Can't have a Noober sprite without a Neeber sprite. Aw... the hell. Let's throw a Nüber sprite in into the mix as well.

How about posting the IWD Shadow sprite collapsing into a pile of goo ("msh1sl.bam") alongside the IWD Ghost sprite rising from a pile of goo ("mghogu.bam")?

Hey @Shandaxx! I just found this thread while doing a Google search for monster sprites. I just wanted to ask, how do you extract those animated monster sprites? If you tell me, I can probably help you catch more monsters alive and bring them here... ;)

You can extract any animation from the game files with Near Infinity. You search the needed animation in the BAM files, extract their frames as graphic, then use a converter program to make gif from the frames.

Thanks a lot, @lolien! :) However, can you give me an example of a converter program? I don't have much experience in these fields.

And yes, the myconid is looking great! B)

I usually use online converters, for example ezgif.

Thanks once again, @lolien! :) I'll try it out soon!

I'm kind of amazed I don't recognize some of these. What is that red floating...brained...tenctacled...thing? I don't even recognize it from the monster manuals. I'm assuming it's in IWD2 since that's the only one I haven't completed due to the Ice Temple being a snorefest of epic proportions.

    That Behlifet attack animation tho

Hey, hey! It appears I can make GIFs directly inside NearInfinity! Yes, without any separate GIF conversion program! As for example, this health-conscious Yeti who is busy working out.

If anyone's interested, it is very easy. Select the BAM file in NearInfinity, and instead of "Export all frames as graphics", choose the "Edit BAM" button on the lower right corner. Now in the window that opens up, select the "Post-processing" tab. Then apply the following two filters:

    1. Transform: Center BAM Frames
    2. Ouput: GIF output (BAM v1 only)

Then just click "Save output file" and BAM! The BAM file is converted into GIFs automatically! B)

    Have fun!
