Bingo! I would have thought she of all the characters might be the most okay with it, given her backstory. You'd be lucky if she didn't just go "Sign of god, time to go home to my village and enter the clergy."
For those who feel the urge to ponder biological ramifications, please feel free to read up on ectopic pregnancies, this should resolve any questions you may have.
Finally, my greatest fantasy can be revealed! Which is funny, because I can remember to this day giving Minsc the belt first and being shocked with his sudden gender change. But at least he got his hair back. =]
@Mungri: Please stop right there. There's a reason I don't want to get that discussion rehashed all over again, and certainly not in a topic that is actually focused on artwork. If you want to write down some weird theories, please go to the right topic for it, thanks.
Mungri's trolling you, Kitteh. Your tendency to get offended at roughly 85% of posts and your backseat moderation calls the trolls. They hear the dinner bell and they come, right as rain.
@Quartz: It's kinda hard to give support for my argument when I can't mention said support, hmm? @Mungri: Please stop right there. There's a reason I don't want to get that discussion rehashed all over again, and certainly not in a topic that is actually focused on artwork. If you want to write down some weird theories, please go to the right topic for it, thanks.
So you don't want to get that discussion rehashed in this thread, but you're the one who bought it into it? I am completely unaware that such a discussion ever took place or in which thread, but you mentioned it here and I had some further thoughts on it. And unfortunately because of people like you, all such topics seem to have been locked.
But for me it is an interesting discussion, in a world where genders can be flipped by simply wearing a belt or through magic, what would the results of such things be on the gonads / reproductive capabilities of gender changed NPCs? Though its impossible, something like that IRL would be amazing to help transgendered people.
@Quartz: Well, excuse me for having an opinion. These forums are for having discussions and for expressing one's opinion. I don't always get offended. I'm merely giving my own view on the subject. I think you're focusing too much on the posts/topics in which I DO get offended. It's really not always the case. But certain subjects are quite sensitive to me, I won't deny that. Some things may appear to be funny to some people, to me, they don't and that's that. Also, no need to warn me for trolls. I spent two years on the Bioware Social Network, which is overflooding with such jerks.
Aaaagh. These kinds of discussions tend to get heated fairly quickly, from what I've seen, so even if it may not be needed, I'm going to try to do some preemptive damage control here. This is a fanart challenge board, and I'm kind of scared of an argument arising here because I wouldn't know what to do about it. Please don't let this turn into a screaming match. Please.
I believe that all discussions have their time and place, including the one you are speculating on, but that place is not here. All you are going to do by bringing it into this thread is invite conflict and distract from the fanart. I don't want to risk this thread getting derailed, or worse, getting crazy enough that it gets closed. That would make me very sad.
If you have had so much experience with trolls, you should know by now not to feed them. Responding to them only encourages them to respond back. Whether or not Mungri is trolling, I cannot tell. But the principle still holds. This is a fanart thread, and I would really like to keep it peaceful, fun, and free from angry debate.
Thank you for your understanding, and let's get back to posting and looking at cool fanart. -E. Rhett
I'm sorry, I just found it funny that someone doesn't like something so much, yet posts about the topic that they hate so much, state that therefore they won't be posting in this thread, yet continue to post about how offended they are about the conversation they started.
Does that make sense? When my PC is fixed I will attempt to draw a pregnant male Aerie, I have been strongly influenced to try it no matter how bad I am at drawing.
@LadyEibhilinRhett: I'm sorry, I was about to say the same and tell both @Quartz and @Mungri to take it to PMs concerning this subject, but I was away from home and my phone's internet connections is slow as hell. I apologize for derailing your topic.
@Jalily Quite right, quite right. @Pantalion 's artwork is top notch, he just happened to de-awesome a character that I like for two big reasons, if you know what I mean.
I actually like Branwen for many reasons, but I wanted to make that joke.
Finally, my greatest fantasy can be revealed! Which is funny, because I can remember to this day giving Minsc the belt first and being shocked with his sudden gender change. But at least he got his hair back. =]
"WHO wants some?!" *smootch!*
Boo: "Help-squik!" '_'
Haha - I could totally imagine Minsc wearing this disguise when the party tries to move around Baldur's Gate incognito.
Dang, that genderbending stuff is harder than I remembered. I first tried with Edwin, wasn't happy with results. Moved to Khalid, wasn't happy with results. Moved to Branwen... you guessed it, I wasn't happy with results! I stubbornly moved onward and tried Imoen, and... hey, the result is not half bad!
I have a question - would it be considered cheating if I retouched and posted here some portraits of 'girdled' BG2 NPCs I made severals years ago?

Ok, that imoen one I have to admit is pretty good. Kind makes me wonder what would happen if she had a twin brother. I'd say that's a pretty close approximation if there was one :>
Holy crap, @Syntia13, if that "Jimoen", or "Jimmy" was the actual default character, he'd have a friend for life right out the gates of Candelkeep! He's omg, drop-dead gorgeous! He'd have me kissing his feet and seeing to his every need, every night. As far as I'm concerned, you win the contest!
I would challenge anybody else to come up with a "gender-bent" portrait that can make a gay man's heart swoon, or a woman's, that does so as well as @Syntia13's.
It's fascinating and an item of curiosity to me how @Syntia13 has so successfully transformed a cute girl into a cute boy, using only the face. On first analysis, I see slightly smaller cheeks and subtly narrower cheekbones, slightly smaller eyes with no noticeable eyelashes and no eyeliner, thicker eyebrows, significantly smaller, less curved lips, wider chin, and sharper jawbone. Adding a bit of beardshadow, and some facial lines that duplicate thicker skin, would make it even better.
@Syntia13's is the best masculinization of an originally female face that I have ever seen.
@Pantalion, you have done an excellent job for our gender-bent Arius. I do have a few suggestions, though.
The eyes should be much smaller; even for an elf, the huge, wide eyes imply female. The chin and jaw need to be enlarged and squared, and slightly elongated. The cheekbones need to be further narrowed. "He" needs even thicker eyebrows, and much smaller lips. Also, a slightly wider base of the nose and nostrils, plus perhaps thicker mouth dimples, and a dimple in the chin, would increase the "hot male" factor.
Still, overall, an excellent artistic effort.
I think that it will be much more challenging to make "hot women" out of the male NPC's, but I would look forward to seeing some efforts as skillfully done as yours and @Syntia13's entries.
@Kitteh_On_A_Cloud, no offense taken. I do love to fantasize about cute boys! And, I do have an academic, psychological interest in the topic of what makes a cute girl versus a cute boy.

There, I found a picture of female Kagain.
Am I doing this right?
The purple hair really fits Minsc! He really needs a feather boa though - no drag queen ensemble is complete without one.
I'm... Not sure I follow? Why wouldn't he be flat?

Hmm..... dude-Imoen is kind of hot.
I assume the tattoo gives it away if nothing else does.
