What have been your favorite names for your Bhaalspawn?
I've often gone with the last name Gorionson in honor of Gorion.
I often translate Greek words for first names, depending on the class:
--Tra'Oudia for Bards (tragoudi is Greek for "song")
-Dassos for Rangers (means "tree")
-Timeos for Paladins (means "honor")
-Magos for Wizards (means "mage/wizard" in Greek... obviously)
-Nichta for Thief (means "night")
I've also gone with the corny Karavok (bro with Sarevok) and Karevos.
I've made Jordi Stumbledon for my clumsy gnome fighter/illusionist
Finally, I finished the game for the first time with an Undead Hunter named Buffy
What are your favorites?

Additional: First two PnP characters ever, back in the early 80's, I can't remember any of the others- Sparrowhawk Human Magic-user & Mablung H/E F/C. I never forget those two names from reading The Wizard of Earth Sea and The Silmarillion when I was still a young boy learning the fantastic tales of the fantasy genre.
Also a half-elf druid, but this time an Avenger
Chiqi Moshen (Monk) - Pronounced Cheeky Motion. Chi & Qi = Circulating Life Force, Qi - Mo = Short for Monk, Shen = The spiritual Element of Person's psyche
Om-Ba Mana-Ka - (Half-Orc Sharman) - Om = Mystic syllable, Ba = Soul of a person or god, Mana = Supernatural Power, Ka = spiritual part of individual or god that survived after death (same as Ba)
Philos Toxon (Female Archer) - Lover of the Bow (
LatinGreek)Falkas Strongblade (Dwarven Male Bounty Hunter) - Fal = Strong, Kas = Scout (Dwarven Translation)
Keravin Maramah (Elven Female Cleric Mage) - Kera = Spell, vin = Storm, Mara = Priest, mah = Mage (Elvish Translation)
JQXZ (Halfling Sorcerer) - Pronounced Jacks, top 4 scoring tiles in Scrabble (He is a smarta$$)
Hector (Fighter) - Hector = Bully
Biorn Odinsson (Male Skald) - (Sort of) Born God's son (was going to be Biorn Bhaalsson but thought it was too obvious)
Ki-LaurEm Jamus (Druid) - Mix up of Grandkids names.
Von Hellsinger - Ended as a Half-Orc Blackguard, but was initially thinking an evil Bard of some sort.
Gus
However, this was actually Greek, not Latin!
Also, can't believe you are a grandpa/grandma and a BG player! Good for you!
Australis Bellator (Fighter) - Southern Warrior (Latin)
Yeah, I started when BG first came out, had a break in the middle somewhere then the EEs were released. What else could I do.
Gus
Girls are Amony (Wonder) or Alice
Guys are Garlim
Something like Xylophone Yxodus.

Exhibit Two:
If you use "Charname" as Charname does it cause the game to break?
(referencing the IT Crowd here)
I'm dreadful with names, hated even naming my children, any pets ect.
I think it's because I don't like my name, by any measure it's simply a bad name along the lines of "what were they thinking" and it's not only me who says that.
So when it comes to charname, it's just a massive PITA.
Though my only real trilogy run was with the elven fighter Ting. Borrowed the name from the Thai martial arts movie Ong-Bak of all things.
But no, having put up with it so bloody long, nothing sounds right now. And names that I like, well I have enough self awareness to recognise "who am I kidding you are so not a ______".
Lol can you imagine, me as Moonfairy or Lilith or somesuch nonsense. It's why every year I go to the Solstice at Stonehenge, hang out with the Druids, cold shower of reality hits with the sunrise.
(The originals not the new ones who have some sort of eye desease, have you seen them?
they look in pain)
1: Of course, because it's a play of words
2: It's a real name. People in the real word are named Saga. Of course, there are people named Lilith as well, but that's because their parents are vampire live action roleplayers, or satanists, or hippies, or witches or whatever. Saga is a standard middeclass name, that perfectly non-fantasyesque parents could name their children.
3: It's catchy and classy.
Also great are Ronja, from Ronja Rövardotter (if you people read Astrid Lindgren).
“Susan . . . it wasn't a good name, was it? It wasn't a truly bad name, it wasn't like poor Iodine in the fourth form, or Nigella, a name which meant "oops, we wanted a boy." But it was dull. Susan. Sue. Good old Sue. It was a name that made sandwiches, kept its head in difficult circumstances, and could reliably look after other people's children. It was a name used by no queens or goddesses anywhere. And you couldn't do much even with the spelling. You could turn it into Suzi, and it sounded as though you danced on tables for a living. You could put in a Z and a couple of Ns and an E, but it still looked like a name with extensions built on. It was as bad as Sara, a name that cried out for a prosthetic H.”
― Terry Pratchett, Soul Music
But the point is that Pratchett's Susan is the granddaughter of capital-D Death himself, and her parents (named Ysabell and Mort, would you believe it?) tried to ground her and shield her from the inevitable by giving her a very, very common name, in every sense. As Neil Gaiman noted,
“People named Tinkerbell name their daughters Susan.”
― Neil Gaiman, Murder Mysteries
And I suppose that makes sense.
Puns > Guns
I once had a ranger named Carbos Shank.
Montresor and Montressa, of course.
Amongst mine are:
Jaime Kangaroodownsport
Ryan Oates
Carrie Mebacktooldvirginny
Hugh Jampton
Mona Lott
Jack Ofalltrades (good for a bard)
Shiela Vzyouyeahyeahyeah
Dianne Otherday
Heironymous Bash
Peyton Advance
Olive Anotherpint
Mark Mywords
Sam Enchantedevening
And others
Edit: Their acting is bare-bones because they spent all their creative juices on coming up with their stage names.
Edit 2: Or so I've been told.
