We're targeting this year for the release. No date has been announced yet.
Talking about releases i wanted to ask: Will the next releases includes the unofficial fixpacks/restorations mods below? They need to be included to expand the interest in those games aside fixing/adding the missing content:

I really wish they're restore the Launcher Music to the games. It's not anywhere to be found in any of the enhanced editions. For the uninitiated, the original releases of each game has a launcher that would let you configure the game, uninstall, quit, or play, etc, and it had a short musical jingle that played. The first track that plays in the BG2 and NWN OSTs is it's launcher music. BG1 doesn't seem to have it included in the OSTs on youtube that I could find.
BG2: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W80tmfVcQCo
NWN: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Lc99TJS0qA
For BG1 and BG2, it could easily replace the music on the game select screens (where you select the main game or black pits or tutorial.) The music just restarts after the intro music anyhow. NWN's menu music is a variation of the theme, so I'm not sure what the best course of action would be.
I was going to ask about the plans to release an update on the console, but I see that mtos asked, maybe it's different, do you have any plans to update these ports? I'm not asking about a specific date, but if there are any plans. I think that people who bought the console version deserve honesty from you. the errors I found in bg2 where the game freezes are after meeting Nera in the bridge district. You can't move to another part of the city because the game crashes, but wandering around the city already works. another mistake is that you can't have rashadd in your team on the map meeting the monks because the game crashes regardless of the journey.
No current plans still (sorry), but you never know. Beamdog has been supporting these games since 2012, returning to patching them many times after years of (seemingly) a hiatus.
If I understand it correctly then the old game engine still receives updates every now
and then, e. g. patches. In particular if we include various mods and add-ons, these
can enhance the original gameplay too, so for people that have never played these,
it is nice for them to play these, and see how people solved game-related problems
or oldschool style quests, on their own.
While I think the images and display of images and animations still looks nice, at times
I wonder whether the images/sprites shown could be prettier or look "more modern",
as an option. In other words, if it were possible to use different game engines for the
display part.
So I am not talking about the game logic or scripting and what not, just the display
part. Would it be feasible to have different game engine (here we assume the user
already installed these) and show "improved" effects or sprites looks? I don't know
if better game engines exist or not, but here I am mostly talking about the possibility
to do so; in particular whether that would be possible in theory AND look better,
too. (As to whether this may be done or not, is a separate aspect; I am more interested
if that were possible AND whether that could lead to a better effect display.)
If we create another patch, it might make sense to bring achievements to GOG, sure. But there are still tasks that need to be completed before any potential 2.7 patch is considered: updating PST:EE on Android, updating all IE games for iOS etc.
so is there a chance for another patch? I hope that there will be a separate topic where you can report errors, in fact you can already create it, it will also make your work easier

There are other mods not embedded that improve what was done in the game that should be included too such as:
Fixes oversights https://www.gibberlings3.net/mods/tweaks/jasteys-sod-tweak-pack/
Throne of Bhall Cut Content not found anywhere to download that MUST be included https://forums.pocketplane.net/index.php?topic=18481.0
Thanks for the reply.
Some components from BG1 UB have also been included in BGEE.

Will the console versions of the games (BG, BG2, IWD, PT, NWN) ever get an update?
I have them on PC (GOG and Steam), but now I only play on console. I'm thinking of buying the console versions, but if there is no update I won't.

can we expect GOG achievements to be implemented? I think it would be nice to finally get achievements in GOG.
Thanks!
