Hey there, since Silverrealms got mentioned, they're some questions that i have about it. I saw some screenshots of Silverrealms and i saw a location that is in the Snakewood, will it conflict with The White Queen or any other mod like that? And while we know that it's confirmed most of the mod will take place in the Underdark, what part of the overworld of Amn and/or Tethyr will it add (apart from Magar Hill and Duskwood Dell)? And finally, did a supplement or module serve as an inspiration for this mod, or just the Lands of Intrigue sourcebook? And that's pretty much it, we await for more news of your amazing mods.
Torglor is the Silver Realm and it is deep beneath the Snowflakes. The Snowflakes are between Amn, Tethyr and Elkazar, they are the mountains by Shilmista and they are not particularly close to the Snakewood.
I think Drizzt's Guide to the Underdark is actually the best source of Shanatar lore, better imo than Underdark in 3E, Races of Faerun or Lands of Intrigue.
That said my understanding is that this will be an Underdark heavy mod so it's possible there is more than one Underdark map, after all, Torglor is the deepest of the Subkingdoms. I don't really think there is any lore on how you get there but I might be missing something obscure so maybe we approach it from an Upperdark location underneath Snakewood. Alternatively the Snakewood are just an introduction to the mod's quests and we go down through another route that will be aboveground like the Kuldin Peaks (which would be in the Amn map). Rrinnoroth is under the Kuldin Peak's and it should have a link to Torglor. A cool alternative would be to go there in a more roundabout way; Torglor is the location of a Githyanki encampment in Gatchorof. So maybe we get there via Astral Plane. But those Githyanki do travel to Rrinnoroth trying to convince the red dragon lairing there to mate with their mounts.
It will take some time, as the mods still need to be finally translated. I plan to release the German version of the Silverrealms mod for beta testing around summer, before finally translating the mod. Fixing bugs in this version would make creating an English version much easier. Hopefully, there will be some testers. But the English version will not be ready for a while.
Thanks for the speedy answer. Good luck with your work!
If @Nymrod85 theory is spot on then it would be wild if the dungeon would be multilayered with some small civilizations to interact and more than one way to enter the dungeon (like an Undermountain lite version), or even an ancient duergar forge with the corpse of a themberchaud, i know that these expectations sound unreasonably huge, but one man can dream. I'll have these expectations as grounded as possible

I think Acifer has been very respectful on how he handles FR lore so I assume he would not do something that would completely change the status quo in the realms. So I don't think we'd ever raid Oryndoll or kill the gith and the local red dragons in Gatchorof. But exploring a ruin that is inspired from what we know of the area is what I'd expect. Specifically I think it would be fun to see a focus on runic magic with the entire level having runes carved everywhere. The Torglor derro savants are supposedly the greatest rune mages of Shanatar and given what the Duergar did later with Drik Hargunen or even the shield dwarves of Iltkazar when it comes to wide use of runes, I'd want something crazy:)
Well, @Acifer announced Loretakers 3, which is that upcoming ToB mod that involves the Skull of Alaundo, and according to FR lore, it was sought by the illithids of Oryndoll, that being the City of Loretakers (it's all coming together...)
But really tho, it would be great if that mod helps connect BG2 with BG3 a bit better, since the illithids are the co-antagonists. Probably at the end of Loretakers 3 there will be a cutscene where the remaining Mindflayers begin to construct a new plan by using the Dead Three powers to form a fake deity, that being The Absolute.

Given how BG3 assumes very specific outcomes for the BG2 story, I am not sure it's wise to try and link them more.
Yes @Nymrod85, even to say, I doubt I'm the only one who's actually somewhat hostile to the "canon" assumptions made going in to BG3.
To *me*, every time I play the Bhaalspawn saga I feel I'm creating my own canon. And I don't even acknowledge some of the assumptions made to officially continue the story. My own [charname] gets a nice happily ever after and will not get drawn into those later events. Really, they've all promised...

I'm happy with what BG3 did. Like it or not, the novels happened so there is a canon. But that doesn't mean it needs to be acknowledged during BG2. My BG2 preferred group is an all evil team with my character becoming the new Lord of Murder and that's definitely not canon in FR.
