Now I'm tempted to guess! I wouldn't consider Gatchorof a city and I doubt it is Oryndoll cause that would just be entirely hostile. One of the drow cities beneath the Forest of Mir would work for me (my head cannon is that Sendai is from one of those three cities).
I would love Iltkazar! You can even use the Shadow Path from Perilous Gateways to explain how we escape.

That is highly plausible, since in one of the Silverrealms' concept arts, you can see what i assume to be the slumbering dwarven king Mith Barak, the ruler of Iltkazar, since he has silvery blue skin (exactly as described in the Underdark lore).

Oh and Gatchorof could link with traveling to the Astral Plane to free him. Maybe the Silver in Silverrealms is as much about Mithbarakaz as for Torglor. In cannon he only wakes up in 1477 but no reason not to wake him up earlier.

And Iltkazar is fully mapped so that gives you a lot of base material to work with.

Just typing here after almost a month, just wanting to know how are you holding up with the progress of the mod and the other projects you're working of. And i was also wondering, since you're adding locations like cities, towns, dungeons, etc. Are you planning to add the town of Velen in one of your mods? The Dragon's Head peninsula looks pretty lonely (And i just realized this discussion page is being used to talk about mods in progress until Skyfire is released). But apart of that, we hope that you're doing great. Also, i wanna do a heads up to everyone that @Acifer has made a Patreon if anybody is interested.

Thank you! I've been busy the past weeks tuning and editing the last quests and dialogues for the next upcoming (unannounced) mod.
I've also been working on Silverrealms. Besides, I created a trailer for Silverrealms that I plan to publish soon - even though the mod will not be released within the next months. However, since some questions about the mod have been discussed here, I thought it might be useful to create a similar, separate thread about Silverrealms, where we can discuss this mod as well.

For now, I have only created a small shipwreck area on Cape Velen so far, but I haven't included it in any mod yet. I won't be creating another city any time soon, as this would mean several years of development work.
Also, i wanna do a heads up to everyone that @Acifer has made a Patreon if anybody is interested.
Thanks! Someone requested a Patreon, so here it is. B)
And i just realized this discussion page is being used to talk about mods in progress until Skyfire is released
Should I create another more general thread in this forum about my mods, if that would be better?

I'm going to have to take a modding break soon, as I'll have to transfer all the files from my old 10 year old computer to a new one, as my old PC is not Win11 compatible. I hope it all works well and doesn't take too long.
So as always, I'm behind my own schedule, but I feel like all the mods are on a very good way. o:)

Thank you for sharing your amazing works @Acifer

I can’t wait to see what else you have in store for us.

Man, best of lucks with the transfer. Especially since you're moving into Win11, coming from someone who had to move out from a potato PC to a gamer one, it can be a very treacherous process. And sorry for the bombardment of questions but just how big the unannounced mod will be in scope, and how many areas will Silverrealms have in comparison to Skyfire's 61? Since it's gonna be a huge underground adventure with various floors to go down (those being the old kingdoms of Shanatar), will it be something like an Undermountain Lite? (if you know what i'm saying)

The fact that there is no rogue-like dungeon crawler based on Undermountain baffles me:(

Oohh. I missed this one too. Amazing work. I wonder how you manage the time to create these vast mods.

Thank you! Well, I’ve been forcing myself to dedicate at least about an hour a day to modding for the past twenty years. With family life it doesn’t always work out perfectly, but I still make steady progress — even if it’s a bit slow at times.

Great! I assumed that a separate thread would make it easier to discuss the various mods.

"Throne of the Mad God" was heavily inspired by "Undermountain - the Lost Level", even it might not be that obvious.

Putting a comment here so this thread doesn't get left in the dust after the Silverrealms reveal, and i also have some questions concerning how traveling around Calimshan shall be done, we all know it'll be with a gnomish airship, but how will it be shown? Is it going to be through dialog box options, or there will be a second map completely separated from the main one showing the region of Calimshan? I'm asking all of this since apart from Calimshan, there will be other new places across Amn and Tethyr and seemingly far off places, like that Icetower that i asume is near Icewind Dale since it's made of, well... Ice. And you said that this mod won't affect the overworld map, so i'm scratching my head how it'll be applied.

It doesn't have to be near Icewind Dale. it could be up in the Cloud Peaks. Maybe it has something to do with the trapped Djinn ghosts of Mount Speartop.

I think I shouldn't reveal too much about traveling without spoiling too much. However, there will be no further world map. I want this mod to be installable within a running game without the need to start from scratch, as it is required with worldmaps.
Well, the Icetower... it's definitely not in Icewind Dale. It's not just a tower, because this thing is slowly drifting southward on the Sea of Swords... you can even spot it from the docks, where the adventure starts. The people of Athkatla have certainly never seen anything like this before!

Oh is Crenshinibon back? Don't answer!:)

What we need is a decent Calishite Elementalist kit for mages for this mod.
  • AciferAcifer Member Posts: 305
That would be cool, of course! Maybe there's something suitable in another kit pack? Crenshinibon doesn't play a role in the mod; he's stuck somewhere in the north in pieces. I'd like to do something with the Chardalyn at some point, but not for this mod.

i realized a while ago that the map you made of the Sword Coast and the Lands of Intrigue (link is: https://www.deviantart.com/aciferbg/art/Map-of-Baldur-s-Gate-Amn-and-Calimshan-868559803), features some locations that are and will be featured in your mods. And by looking at it and remembering that we will go to areas that would be difficult to go by foot, will we visit St. Carwell's Vale? According to the Lands of Intrigue Campaign Expansion it says:

“This tiny village, set high in the western Hamlar Hills toward the coast, is about a half-day's travel north to northwest from Mt. Speartop.”

It would be cool if we get to visit a little rural village at the style of Ulgoth's Beard.

Yes, I created an area here a long time ago, but it's not part of a mod yet. The nice thing about St. Carwell's Vale would be that you could visit it in both BG1 and BG2. However, I don't have a complete story for it in mind yet.
Attached is a WIP screenshot of the area:
