I just got this bug on entering Peldvale (after having 2 previous, succesful conversations since picking him up) where I got the same conversation box as the last time but with no topics to choose and I have had to abandon that save. In regards to what could have caused it, I don't know. He's died once and been resurrected after Nashkel Mines but I doubt him dying would have messed the script up. Ah well, looking forward to the patch!

Getting this too, really messed up my save. If the mods still want saves, I can send mine. Very annoying though, I hope it truly is fixed and applied very soon.

I found a workaround that works for me. Maybe even for you.
    I enabled cheats via baldur.ini;
Added: 'Program Options', 'Debug Mode', '1',
with the other Program Options codes.

Killed Rasaad and then resurrected him with CTRL+R. He started a conversation with me again but this time only once and a proper one. Now he havent said anything for a while. Maybe the bug will start again later. But now my savegame is not a total waste.
  • I'm currently in Chapter 2, prior to entering the Nashkel Mines. Rasaad is continually initiating the "How may I enlighten you?" dialog, with my only option being "That's enough reminiscing for now." He will do this even from across the map. He should either be giving me a new dialog that is not firing properly, or he shouldn't be trying to talk to me at all.

@Kaigen Not to worry, this one will be fixed in the next patch.

Rasaad, the Selune monk, has a very bugged conversation tree.

I have not yet completed the mines (with the bad ore).

In searching for the wild mage to help Neera, I was escorted (very politely) by a helpful goblin to some caves. It was at this location that Rasaad's conversation tree went bonkers.

At this point, I had no further conversation tree options when I attempted to talk to him because I had already progressed his conversations as far as I could prior to reaching the goblin caves.

    What happened:

He constantly forces a conversation, but the only conversation option is to say, effectively, "Not right now". The conversation then immediately forces itself back up. You have maybe one second between each time that it forces itself on screen.

I managed to remove Rasaad from the party. However, this did not fix the issue.

If I re-visit the town just north of the mine with the bad ore, then Rasaad forces a conversation tree immediately on entering that map, regardless of the distance between my characters and Rasaad. The conversation is him asking if I want him back in the party.

Worse: This conversation tree, where Rasaad is asking if I want him in the party, will continue even if I leave the map!

I managed to get out of that town and to return to the mines, but upon entering the (open world area) map for the mines, the camera instantly teleported back to the city! There was Rasaad, asking if wanted him back in the group.

At this point there was no way to stop it from happening, and I had to re-load a previous save. Unfortunately, the city that Rasaad is in, is now useless to me. If I go to it then my game becomes permanently bugged. Even leaving the city does not stop him from forcing his conversation tree onto screen. I fear that the only way that I will be able to continue is if I kill Rasaad.

...I actually wanted him in my party, too. :(

("How may I enlighten you?" = "How may I troll you?".)

I've noticed lots of bugs in the new conversations, not just Rasaad. They often repeat, jump around, and sometimes seem to skip entire sections. This often leads to nonsensical conversations where I don't have any information or idea about what is going on.

With luck this kind of thing will be patched soon.

I got the same problem. It starts when I get a travel encounter with an Ogre Mage and he doesn't stop after that.

Rasaad always initiates conversations with an interval of about two seconds. It began in Nashkel mine after resting. Ejected him from party which temporarily solved the issue, however upon returning to Nashkel he constantly asks to be reinvited to the party.

tl;dr Rasaad is acting like noober.

I get this too. Once I arrived at the Nashkel mines, he started doing so immediately. I really don't want to kick him from my party, and keeping him is impossible. Essentially it renders the game unplayable for me.

Until this is fixed, I can no longer play the game. Even ejecting him from the party doesn't help. My last save before this happens is (ingame) days ago. Definitely not going to load that one. Hope it is patched soon.... -_-

I'm not at the point where I need to complete the stuff in this particular city, so it looks like I'm going to have to kill him. There's no way to progress at this point.

If anyone knows any cheat codes or methods to get around this, please feel free to post them for the others who have this problem.

@Hallondricka I tried this. Unfortunately when I resurrected him he got right back to noobering me :(. I guess the only option I have is killing him and getting some other party member... Thanks for the suggestion though.

I had the rejoin bug, he would pester me to take him back, and then leave immediately, anytime I entered Nashkel. It made the game unplayable, so I killed him with the console. I resurrected him and it just started all over again, so I just left him dead. His boots were nice though.

Both Raaad and Neera stoped talking to me. Neera right after Adoy quest and Rasaad after two dialogues. Does anyone know how to fix it? I checked it with shadowkeeper, but I don't know which values should i change if any at all. I could send my save if anyone could be kind enough to help me.

For me, he has a conversation and the options are to ask him how he became a monk or why he came to Nashkel. Choosing either option leads him to speak about his childhood and becoming a monk. The story of how he came to Nashkel seems to be inaccessible.

After my first dream when we wake up, he asks me the same question over and over again. I want him on my party but if I take him off, he leaves to who knows where....
PLEASE HELP. I WANT TO PLAY SO BADLY.

I just came across the same issue. I traveled to a different map and he keeps initiating conversation. As soon as I end it, he starts again.
  • LeezlLeezl Member Posts: 8
Mine is at a different point in the dialogue. I can't actually say anything but "That's enough reminiscing for now."
  • shinkeikakushinkeikaku Member Posts: 4
That's my only choice as well. I've done the first round of dialogue and he decided to talk again. Yet there's nothing new to say and he loops.

Well you know those monks from the Order of the Sun Soul, they're SUCH gossips. Did you hear what he said about Imoen in Montaron?

I had also this problem, so I killed him eventually...
I need a patch for this ASAP!!

Yeah, I'm having the exact same problems as Salbar and Shelly, but they started when I headed to the Gnoll Stronghold west of Nashkel to save Dynaheir, and the bug only starts when I rest or travel to a different region. I tried kicking him off the team, only to have the same forced rejoin dialog when in Nashkel. It looks like my only solution is to kick him off the team outside of Nashkel and then never go there again. It would be great if this were fixed, I like him a lot.

I have also encountered this problem - there have been a few posts about it, and from what I understand, the issue has been found and will be corrected in the next patch.
  • The user and all related content has been deleted.

Seems to be fixed as of the Nov 30th patch, but it may have been adding another member to my party and filling his spot.

    Fixed, is it?

    Woops... Sorry Rasaad...

Took Kivan instead, much better investment so far!

There is a bug in my game where Rasaad the monk, when I ask him to join my party, will exit my party immediately, walk away to the inn in naskkel, disappear and then reappear immediately on his original spot initiating the joining options on his own(Yes join my party, or No). Feedback loop indefinitely.
Anyone else seen this bug? I really wanted him in my party but im in chapter 4 now and don't want to start all over again to see if the bug is still there..
