You must do a clean install and reapply the mods, as sad as it is. But I have many mods and it did work fine. The android/data folder fortunately is now open for business, even after writing to it. You can use the new method of the accessible data folder and import in game, or you can still apply the mods directly to the data files via shizuku the old way also. I had to manually stick baldur.lua in there for some reason and didn’t want to wait for the import button in options again. Don’t panic, it works.

Have you got mods with dialog.tlk edits working on android my bro?

Indeed so. No obb manipulation was required. As long as your modded dialog.tlk has the correct folder structure, and is zipped without compression, in the folder with the other override, portraits, etc folders. I don’t know that a centralfix.exe pass on the zip is needed or not, but I did it anyway. Probably is? But it does work, a loose lang/en_US/dialog.tlk did not.

I’m just super jazzed that every time I change mods I don’t have to nuke my old saves. Thanks devs!

Damn I've been trying to get this to work and keep getting invalid dialogue. Does the lang zip begin with the 'lang' folder itself or do you zip the contents up? Can't get it to work myself.

Yeah the dialog.tlk inside lang/en_us/ and zip the whole lang folder itself without compression in store mode which is crucial. Are you placing the file directly with shizuku or importing via the in game button?

yup using the new import button. Just tried with centralfix and still invalid. i wonder if its an issue with samsung maybe?? will keep experimenting!

Thanks for the help bro, much appreciated, which mods did you get working btw? maybe the ones im using need an update or something.

I got tired of waiting and decided to reinstall. I can make up the progress to Dragon's Eye if need be. Sadly even reinstalling the latest version doesn't fix anything: the game crashes instantly on running it. Managed to capture the following screenshot. Looking at the Android Play Store reviews, I'm not the only one with these problems.

@JuliusBorisov Let me know how I can submit a bug report if it will help you guys get it back up and running.

I'm playing on PC, to be clear.

Started reinstalling now. I've had trouble with this process in the past, even without the added complication of updating game versions, so I'm not necessarily expecting much. I do at least appear to have a fairly comprehensive list of the install order I'd used last time. Maybe that will be enough.

Yo! sorry to bug you again my bro, just wondering did you get anything working with BG2? I got BG1 working good using the method above but currently cant seem to solve BG2.

We heard back from Apple after requesting additional help with the review process: the submission was denied because they don't like the trailer that was uploaded there in 2014: "Includes framing around the video screen capture of the app".

    Thanks for the update.
    Any solution in sight?

Yeah this is all BG2, I haven’t tried with BG1 tbh

I was thrilled to hear the latest patch was out for android, that could enable users to store save files to any folder, so I put my saves for bg2 EE in a different folder. I then sent these to my new Android phone, set that up to the same folder, but when I start the game from the load screen they are not there.
Also one strange thing is when I installed the game on my new phone it had saves on there, but from only chapter 3, whereas I'm currently on chapter 5.
I've tried reinstalling at least 4 times and it still does the same thing😂
