Spoilers:

Bonebats can see invisible things, the cloak is supposed prevent detection, and they still attack. Seems like a bug.

@KvotheRM8, yeah... There is a modified version if your interested in trying a better one.

BTW, if you have a look in the menu above the text box that you type in, click on the paragraph marker (back the front IP), you will see 'spoiler'. You can use this to put any spoilers in.

@KvotheRM8 Does the cloak protect your hiding thief from bonebats? Or do you mean it doesn't protect your character under Invisibility (Improved Invisibility) spells?

Non-Detection only prevents detection from magical effects, primarily divination spells.
    - It has no effect on line of sight, including creatures that can naturally see through invisibility.
    - It is not meant to protect you from spells that reveal or dispel invisibility through means other than detection, such as Glitterdust or Invisibility Purge, though it does do to limitations.

    Bonebats are unaffected by invisibility.

That mod will not prevent bonebats from seeing you, however. It only makes the cloak protect from magical illusion stripping spells, like True Seeing.

Some creatures are simply intended to automatically see through invisibility. Bonebats are one such creature. Most demons also have this ability.

out of all the years that i have played the BG series ( and that is quite a few ) the only time that i have EVER seen the cloak of non detection actually stop some sort of detection was back in vanilla SoA the drow guardians that block the door to the surface ( in the kua-toa dungeon ) the drow thief apparently was using detect illusions, and it said he failed to detect an illusion on my thief

other than that one time, i have never seen the cloak of non detection to be useful, it gives you a cool symbol on your character portrait, but other than that, it's meh tastic

It prevents stealthed characters from being detected with True Seeing/True Sight, so it's very useful for Thieves and Stalkers in BG2.

Bonebats are bats... they’re “seeing” you through echolocation. If you’re invisible, there’s still a physical surface for them to bounce their sound waves off.

Dragons can also attack you while invisible because they can smell you.
