    In my installation Edwin has an extra spell that he shouldn't have, and it looks like it's from this mod. This is in BG2, does anyone else have this or is it just me? At level 12, he has 8 1st-level spells when he should have 7 (4 for level, 1 for kit, 2 for amulet).

    I've posted an update, hopefully should prevent these potential NPC issues.
    It can't correct an NPC that has already joined the party though - you will have to remove the effect through EE keeper or Near Infinity.

    For whatever reason, Project Infinity rejects this mod when I try to add it; it just disappears when I try to click on it. What could be the cause of it?

  • kjeronkjeron Member Posts: 2,133
    @QueenFiona updated as per ALIEN's suggestion.

    @kjeron Thanks! Quick question, is this compatible with m7multikit? I don't know how you're implementing things. It looks like it should be if I install it first, but I figured I'd ask explicitly.

    They may work side-by-side, and m7multikit would have to be first, but it won't be able to apply it's multiclass kits to a dualclass.
    It's readme in that link says it was last updated for game version 1.3, so either the readme or the mod may be out of date regarding v2.5 features.

    Hey @kjeron, I have been trying to get this mod to install on my EET install. I'm getting this error:
    0k6kz08nczf9.png

    I have several kit mods; DoF, Might and Guile, Sword and Fist, Divine Remix, Song and Silence - and I have been trying to install DTK after these. But I think that it's EET that's messing it up.

    I'm using the Steam version on Windows 10, the error comes from the first component of DTK. I've installed on an unmodded BG2EE install fine, but I tried after I install the EET mod (ie: the first in the weidu log and nothing else) and got the error.

    My weidu log is attached, and the chitin.key fwiw;

    Is there any chance you could help me get it to work?

    Thanks!

    @globocide DoF and Divine Remix will probably conflict.

  • kjeronkjeron Member Posts: 2,133
    @globocide It sounds like EET is adding an entry to CAMPAIGN.2da, but not directly specifying a 2da file for class and or race text (resulting in "*.2da"). I was missing two sanity checks needed to deal with such cases.
    Updated first post (v.27), let me know if it still doesn't work.

    Thanks I'll troubleshoot that when it comes up. At the moment though I'm still getting the error with only EET installed, and no other mods.

    Cheers @kjeron , that did it. B)

    @kjeron I installed Aionz update to Shadow Magic 1.9.7 and now I can't dual to the Shadow Adept anymore. It used to work before the latest update.

  • AionZAionZ Member Posts: 3,034
    @Necromanx2 @kjeron

    That one’s probably my fault. Missed the dual-class flags when I streamlined the character creation kitting process.

  • kjeronkjeron Member Posts: 2,133
    @AionZ @Necromanx2
    I just tested, and didn't have any trouble dualing a Figher->Shadow Adept with v1.97 (Shadow Magic) and v.27 (DtK). Did the Ability requirement or something else change that might have allowed it prior but not anymore?

    Hmm. 1.9.7 broke my dual class that I was playing (can't use any Shadow Adept items) and I checked that the SA kit is there in EEKeeper. Dualing for me does not work, but I had 15 STR, 17 INT, and 17 CHA, with the rest lower than 15 so a change in requirements is possible.

    EDIT: I'll just revert to an older version of Shadow Magic for now. Thank you both!

    I am unable to select kits when dual-classing. I am playing modded IWDEE and after testing this mod on a clean install, I have concluded that there must be some conflict with one of the other installed mods but I don't know which one. Can anyone help?

    Edit: Also, when leveling up, an invisible copy of the levelled up character gets summoned, says: "In order to get a secret from Hailee, our bard improvised a story about a magical singing fish. Not her best work, but we've come to expect that from her : (character's name) - is this normal?
    Edit2: This doesn't happen with all characters, just some, and since it happens with single- and multi-class characters as well, it's probably not related to this mod.

    Any mod that assigns unkitted characters a hidden kit to function, may prevent this mod from detecting them as unkitted (since they technically aren't).
    Priest overhauls usually need to do this (Dieties of Faerun, Faiths and Powers) for clerics, rangers and druids. I don't think RR does this for thieves though.

    Ability score minimums are still required for a kit to appear (though less likely the issue if none are appearing).

    This mod doesn't summon any invisible creatures.

    I was not able to dual a human fighter (no kit) into a kit of any class (for the purpose of testing I set all stats to 18 during character creation). I was only able to select the pure class. Deities of Faerun should be compatible with dual-into-kits mod, according do its author.
    Any idea which mod (or mod component) is causing the issues? Could it be the minimum stats cheat from Tweaks Anthology?

    Edit: Tried uninstalling minimum stats cheat - still can't select kit when dual-classing.

    still testing
    It's not the other UI mod (lefruet's enhanced UI - IWDEE).

    edit: It looks to be this one:

    You are right. There is still a problem, however. I can see default kits and mod kits with the exception of DoF kits, those are still absent for some reason.

    Interesting. I have been using this mod with DoF from the beginning and it works fine (issues along the way that are fixed).

    Keep in mind that this mod honors the DoF dual-classing restrictions. So if you pick a class, race, alignment, and ability score combo that does not allow for a dual in DoF, it will not show.

    You are correct, the issue were kit restrictions, my bad - sorry for the trouble.

    One more question - is this mod compatible with EET?

    Don't forget this mod. IT's cool.

    Suggestion: allow kitted characters to choose a kit in their new class, but use AddKit so that they must give up their existing kit.

    IIRC there is a slight complication with this.
    When the game runs it's kit-scrubber, it only removes effects from the "active" CLAB file.
    Once you dual, the "active" CLAB is that of the new class, not that of your previous class's kit, so nothing would get removed (with the possible exception of effects present in both CLAB files).

    While an AddKit(TRUECLASS) run before Dualclassing should work, it's not something that can be done through the UI anyway (no way to target the correct character, or process the action while paused (the dual-class screen)).

    I suppose you could do a more systemic change: disable dual-classing for all kits, but give all kits an innate ability that switches them to trueclass; that would remove their kit and enable dual-classing... and with this mod, the second class could have a kit.

    Hm, I suppose that could happen independently. Could be it’s own mod, that happens to work well with this one. Would only take a few minutes to scratch together, maybe I’ll give it a shot.
