    Full heavily modded EET installation takes more or less 2,5h.

    I've had some of mine take 14-16 hours! :s
    Now you have to check from time to time if installation didn't stop due to some error.

    Well you can actually tell it not to stop for warnings and/or errors. You just need to amend the ini file. (If you need help with that see the draft P.I. First Time Users Reference Document I did).
    I just got an idea. Can you add sound warning when something happens during installation? ...With sound you would exactly know when error occured.

    As per above you are better to tell it to not stop on error, at least IMO - the reason is there's nothing you can do anyway once there is an error so why stop the process (and why add a notification). I find it much more productive to just have the install run it's course and complete, then assess the logs afterwards and review all the warnings and errors. Then amend your install sequence and rerun a fresh install... It's quicker and cleaner and more productive in the end... :)

    Having the computer 'ding' all the time for errors is kind of like the ambulance at the bottom of the cliff, its too late to help. ;)

    FYI: There is one thing it will always stop on, IIRC, explicit text warnings. You can't have it automatically by pass those. But I've only encountered one or two mods with them to date (e.g. LCA_Explicit).

    I didn't know that you can skip all errors. In my installation i always have one, so i had to check when to unpause PI. Now it will be much easier. Thanks for telling me about it.

    Hi
    Question for PI users (is there are any?)
    How to instal The Stone of Askavar in PI mod manager, before EET??? Is not possible or i am drinking to much??? Could you make some print screen, please? Or I have to install all BG1EE mods manualy, and after that link BG1EE game folder to PI mod manager?

    Seems that PI is unfinished project or you have to have Bill Gates knowledge to run mods through them to get EET (my opinion is based on amout of video you can see on youtube - ZERO!!! )
    3 years ago i used EE MOD SETUP TOOL for run BGEET with a loot of small and big mods with, with out problem, but it is over...

    Are you just having a problem with PI generally - for example it's your first time using it - or with the Stone of Askavar mod? If the former and you are having issues with PI as you haven't used it (much) before, then check out my draft First Time Users Document I mentioned in post above (link is in quote below) - it might have some helpful info...

    ...if it's the latter and you are familiar with P.I. and you are having issues with the actual SoA mod, I have installed it successfully recently in a large EET install with all the other additional quest mods about halfway through my sequence (well after EET Start, and before EET End).

    Hey,

    I will be active for a couple of days next week, hopefully to cover any unfinished business. So, if there is something important, let me know.

    Hello!

    Is it possible (or did i miss info about it)
    for PI to recognize based on my game choice if mod (option) supports that game version? Like standard weidu does?

    I mean, some options appear for instal even tho they do not support EE or EET. But are for base game or Icewind Dale.
    1.

    Example option only available to IWD But appears even in EET, but it shouldnt.
    <p> <strong>Never Lose Access to Orrick the Gray&#39;s Trade Goods</strong><br />
            <em><abbr title="Icewind Dale">IWD</abbr>, <abbr title="Icewind Dale">IWD</abbr>-in-<abbr title="Baldur's Gate II">BG2</abbr></em> </p>

    Never Lose Access to Orrick the Gray's Trade Goods
    IWD, IWD-in-BG2

    2.
    A request if i may? :smile:

    Is it possible to add little sounds whenever tool stops at warning or any kind of stop instal actually?
    Thanks!

    Hi
    Results: BG1UB - components: 0, 11, 12, 13, 14, 16, 17, 19, 22, 32, 34 - warnings in all installed components (but installed), components: 18, 21, 30, 33 - installed ok;
    EET - installed with warnings;
    Spontaneous Casting - LEXER ERROR and Parsing.Parse_error, probably not installed;
    The Vault - installed with warning;
    EET Tweaks - components 1001, 1012, 1021, 1031 - not installed due to errors, components: 2040, 3022, 4060, 4070 - installed ok;

    Some question:
    BG1UB - maybe all of warrning installed components are included in BGEE?
    Spontaneus castin - is it included in BG2EE?

    I forget mark EET_end :(

    Question about PI
    I have to mark components e.g. Unfinished Bussines for BG2, EET end, each time I run PI after rescan. It is normal or I make some mistake?

    I found big bug about non-English window OS and PI.
    check screenshot.

    left letters are input from Korean keyboard layout.
    right letters are input from English keyboard layout.
    (you can change keyboard layout setting with window key + space)
    (한글키보드fake1122333 //// fake1122333 english keborad)

    non-english OS system keyborad(such as Korean, other language people) input may make fake letters sometimes(these letters don't work as input of PI but looks same. so it's painful to find what is wrong)

    1, 2 <- this doesn't work when they are from korean keyboard layout.

    please add this information to known issue page or FAQ to prevent victims. it's really painful for people who don't use English window OS.
    https://forums.beamdog.com/discussion/74335/project-infinity-public-beta/p1

    how to input correct letters while in PI:
    press window key + space to change keyboard layout to English version.4rgtvfwdkm9q.jpg

    I was pleasantly surprised by a PI feature that let me quickly identify a mod that was causing grief. I copy pasted my mod folder and then PI let me select the new folder, which I could delete mods from, letting me identify the offending mod whilst keeping my original mod selections as they weren't removed from the selections list, just not loaded when the mod wasn't present

    How to install Tweaks Anthology via this program? It's now in the exe file. When i put it into mods folder, PI doesn't see it.

    The tweaks anthology exe is just a self-extracting archive, you can get to the content by right-click -> "open with" -> 7zip/winrar

    PI is working great for me btw, have used it in several big installs (incl. megamod EET with several hundred components) and never ran into any issues. The only feature I miss is an an auto-selection of components (left panel) based on a CSV import, to avoid having to edit CSVs in plain text, but that is just a tiny inconvenience in an otherwise amazing tool!

    Hi all,

    I am having a lot of grief with PI and haven't been able to get a successful instal going thus far. I am currently going through one install that seems to be working (with a few incompatibility notes of mods?!) as I write this, but I fear it will crash on me like all the other previous times. Some negatives/bugs:

    -It wouldn't open for a good while until I approved it in the virus scanner.
    -I have gotten "Install sequence contains non-existent mods" on several runs. It seems that opening and closing it fixes this issue but it crops up again on ocassion.
    -What has been probably the most frustrating, is that I have abour 100 mods, and I have carefully selected or ticked which options I want from each mod. The odd thing is though that while some mods "keep or retain" the ticks when I open project infinity on subsequent ocassions to try another install, it doesn't keep or retain the tick, so I have to go through my mod list and tick through each selection all over again. It is a real pain as it seems arbitary. For example. Sword coast stratagems I have to tick the dozens of checkboxes each and every time. While tweaks anthology seems to remember my selection and I don't need to keep ticking it. Also, I saw somewhere that a "tick all" has not been approved due to issues. I think in these instances it would be preferred if I could do a tick all for my selection, especially for simple things like "quests lists" or "romance encounter" lists. I want every quest and I want every romance encounter, needing to tick all 50 roamnce encounters has been a real pain.
    -I can't seem to find the merge DLC mod on the mod list and so I had to download it from github and then put it at the top of the mod order list. Why isn't this included at the start or accessible via the mod search function? In either case, it went to installing the game and then it came up with errors as expected when I didn't have the DLC mod. It took me a little while to realize I had the DLC mod missing.

    Some positives/plus:
    -The blue/orange seems to work quite nicely and easy to adjusdt the order of the mods accordingly.
    -I have heard that PI is quite user unfriendly but I actually found it quite usable and reasonable, after naturally getting through the slight learning curve.
    -It is nice having the most up to date and official mods (previous user of ee mod setup tool)

    Hopefully the next version of PI can include the ability to retain our tick selection on subsequent openings in cases where the install doesnt' occur in the first opening.

    And after installing the mods for nearly 5 hours, it got to the end and failed.

    Would anyone have any suggestions or tips? See below log, not sure if any other log would be useful?

    Let us know how you go - I never quite 100% finished that then got sidetracked switching to Linux from Windows and ditching iPhone for a degoogled privacy phone, etc, etc... So haven't done anything more with PI myself for about 8-9 months... Also happy to get any constructive feedback on that document if it's not clear or something no longer works, etc.

    Remember to not go overboard initially just get an install sequence with a few mods to work reliably then you can add more in over time.

    Hi Mycenius,

    I am very grateful for your guide, because it made me realize a few things that I do not need to do the sisyphyean task of reticking all the components I want after an error or after a failed installation. All I need to do is copy/paste the bottom right hand corner after I have selected the pieces I want and then make adjustments to that in terms of the order if need be.

    However, despite this, it has still been a difficult process. Of course after closing project infinity, and then opening it again, I pasted the install order with all my components, and it says I need to refresh the mods to make sure they are all there. And once I refresh, it ends up jumbling the order on the left screen and now I have lots of orange. Probably another bug.

    Thank you for the guide though, I believe it has brought me one step closer to playing the ultimate modded BG experience. :)

    Project Infinity has no functional way to import logs. Alien confirmed the weidu import was non-functional after one of the releases a couple years ago. The .csv file logs that Project Infinity can generate and import also seem to fail as it has difficulties with certain characters used in mod component names. The only way to use Project Infinity with any degree of success is to manually use the menu on the left and check components one at a time. That is likely going to end up taking about the same amount of time as doing it manually, so there really isn't much benefit to using Project Infinity from a time savings perspective.
  • Gorion88Gorion88 Member Posts: 24
    You are right morpheus562, I had to still manually click every box. The copy paste didn't work for me.

    The problem is that yet again the install failed. I noticed most mods were installed successfully, but a few seemed not to be, and the big one was EET_end which didn't install because I didn't have EET core components installed first. Not sure what those core components are?

    The left screen is largely irrelevant - I'm sure I put it in my doc - just select one mod and validate it, ignore the rest. Then copy and paste your install sequence you previously saved back into the right window. No need to redo the whole left hand window thing again. As long as you have all the mods stored correctly in a location that PI has been set to look at for the mods. I also NEVER used the auto update from PI - I managed the mods manually and downloaded updated copies into the directory when PI looked for them myself when needed.

    Hi @morpheus562 - hope all's good. That's not actually 100% correct - unless something changed radically in the last 8 months (as I'm 100% on Linux now I haven' t played or installed any Windows BG for a bit and don't have PI available at present). Yes you can't use log files and the exported csv files are a waste of time... BUT...

    You can (at least as of early this year) copy the full install sequence you build in the bottom right window and paste it into a text file. You can then move the all items around in sequence as much as you like. To add new mods just do a new install prep doing the left box selection of the components of that mod (and ONLY that mod), make a new install sequence on the right, then copy it out into your text file. You can then move them to the positions you want in the existing text file of your original install list. And repeat for each new mod. When ready just clear the bottom right box and paste the text file contents back in and click install and your done, sit back and watch...

    e.g. If I still had a Windows PC I could install PI from scratch, download all the mods (if needed) then copy and paste one of my old text file install lists (that was the same versions as the mods) and have my EET install running in under 10 minutes installing 30-50 or more mods (totalling over 600 components as mentioned).

    It might be explained better I think in my beginner's guide document here.

    I got down to being able to prep and run a new EET install with over 600+ components from mods in about 20 minutes (even if I had to change a few things)...
